It is my strongest eye that is affected unfortunately. With my varifocal glasses on my sight in my good eye is slightly blurred when I close my weaker eye and more so looking at distance things like road signs. Bucky and I got the Moderna yestreday. No side effects except for both of us having a very sore arm near injection spot. A slight headache...but that could be from anything, most likely not being able to sleep on that side. So far the only person I know that got the jab is my SIL and she got the pfizer vaccine and she had really sore arm, tired and sluggish the next day, but it was her day off so she lounged around and was fine the next day.

The roads were busy as were the beach car parks. When we got home I had a hospital letter. My Vitrectomy eye op is on February 3rd. Isn't it amazing what they can do nowadays. If I understand correctly, that is a type of laser eye surgery?

Sister-in-law just had a sore are from the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. She got the second dose on Monday, and had 104° fever, chills, and aches all over for two days. All good after that. Guess it is the 2nd dose that affects some people more.

Not exactly, it's more like a "clean-up" surgery. My last employer, one of the 100 best specialists in retina diseases (world wide), was performing it routinely. Vitrectomy is a surgical procedure undertaken by a specialist where the vitreous humor gel that fills the eye cavity is removed to provide better access to the retina. This allows for a variety of repairs, including the removal of scar tissue, laser repair of retinal detachments and treatment of macular holes.

Same here, as it was expected. After the 2nd Pfizer dose, almost everyone reports 1-2 days of fever, tiredness, muscle aches. Doctors say it's a good thing: "the vaccine is working...."😁

Rare Tree_skier Posted January 16, 2021 #5824 Share Posted January 16, 2021 (edited) No wildlife in todays update. At least not wildlife that walks on four legs. I took half a day off today and decided to drive down to the other side of the lake where the public beach access is. The sun was shining and we have nothing but blue sky today. I though it might be nice to take a walk along the snow covered beach. What I didn't expect was to find a swimmer. The temp is 32˚ F (0˚ C)... I spoke to her briefly. She was every bit of 70 years old and she told me she comes here every day, 365 days a year and hasn't had a cold, flu or any other illness in over a decade. She insisted her daily swim, in every temperature, is the reason why. I wished her well and asked to to take her picture while she waded out a little deeper. She graciously consented. But not that big of a deal. Bit of a headache, but not sure if that is just from sleeping wrong (couldn't sleep on the arm). Well worth going through that...than the obvious other ....if not vaccinated. I agree that it is worth the pain and discomfort, however I woke up this morning still in pain and with a headache.
