We had hoped she would make it to 100, but knew there was no chance. She was born 100 years ago today. Here’s Ginny at her birthday party today!!! Never give up! When opening the Main Royal Caribbean Page, roll down to Dani's thread, to the extreme left in the title of the thread there will be a symbol of a star , click on that star and it will take you to the first NEW post in the thread just where you left off last time you were reading the thread. The post above will be the last post you read, new one below. Start there and away you go, never miss a post. It doesn't work if you first check replies to your posts which is what I usually do.

I believe it does still work, just go back to the main Royal page. If you check replies, just don't answers any of them before going back to Main page. Great photos! Thank you for sharing them We will have to get to NY sometime. I am not sure if that is just fir the holidays or not. All their windows were papered over so you couldn't see any of the decorations yet. Thought it was very pretty so took the picture. 1

The store was so crowded and filled with some rude, nasty people. We couldn’t wait to check out. Thank you. I'm reading posts about what people pay for turkey and all I kept thinking to myself is every supermarket around me is giving away free turkeys if you spend X dollars. Granted, maybe the free turkey isn't as good as a store bought turkey but I find if you drown it in enough gravy, it's hard to tell the difference. Besides, I'm more about the side dishes. I'll load up my plate first with mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, string bean casserole, a couple of piping hot dinner rolls, various other veggies - corns, peas, etc - there is hardly room for a slice turkey.
dbancroft Posted November 20, 2023 #108482 Share Posted November 20, 2023 Back in 2015 we surprised my brothers on the Quantum they did not know we were joining them on the cruise. Funny thing is the first elevator we got guess who was in the elevator. What a nice surprise for all of us. This year we are going to try again we leave next Sunday on the Anthem from Jersey. Only thing is youngest brother does not have transportation. So we had to offer to let him ride with us at least he was still surprised we were joining. My oldest brother lives in West Virginia and he still does not know we are coming. We all like to sit together in the casino so hoping someone gets lucky.

Same surgeon, same robotic technology. I’ll take it. I know I was on opioids for 4 weeks with my first one. Only 5 days with this one.

Sunshine3601 Posted November 20, 2023 #108490 Share Posted November 20, 2023 No idea what's going on but CC won't let hit quote. @jagsfan. Ginny looks amazing, are you sure she really 100!!! @DaniDanielle I, also, picked up my free turkey at Shoprite this weekend. I went around 8:30 am and had a pleasant experience but it was getting busy by the time I was leaving. Hate when people are rude in stores, especially during the holidays, bah humbug!! @HBE4 yup, same here just about every food store in my area gives out free turkeys, turkey breasts or hams during the holidays. We are going out to eat this year but I got my free turkey to make Friday or Saturday.

My sister is the one buying and cooking the turkey, so I have no say in the matter. They don't usually cook anything that has been frozen and get meat from a particular butcher, fish from a fish store, etc. Just the way they do things. I don't get a frozen turkey when I do buy one, I always get a fresh one from a local meat market. Just preference for the holidays. I do shop regular supermarkets though otherwise as I am too cheap for all specialty everything. 😄

Rare A&L_Ont Posted November 20, 2023 #108496 Share Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Anyone want to spent a bit of time watching some “adventure video. I’ve followed this channel for a while. I don’t promote exploration videos, but I do find them interesting. This one is of Astoria, since it has been premaritally docked since Covid. This channel goes to many different places, and this one happens to be a historic cruise ship. Edited November 20, 2023 by A&L_Ont 3
mets07 Posted November 20, 2023 #108497 Share Posted November 20, 2023 We just did our first MSC cruise. It was quite an adventure ha.... we were supposed to be doing a 6 night to Bermuda and found out enroute to the port (Brooklyn, NY) that we were going to Port Canaveral and Bahamas instead due to "adverse" weather conditions expected in Bermuda area. We were not very upset because we have been to Bermuda many times on cruises and although we have been to the other ports, we figured out some different things to do this time around. The ship, Meraviglia, is beautiful. Also has lots of fun bars and a diversity of excellent musical entertainment. MSC is a different animal when you are figuring out what to book ... they have various levels they call "experiences." The main negative was the buffet, which was basically a large rectangle which forced a linear progression and was a zoo, particularly at breakfast. We actually started going to the MDR for breakfast, which we never do. Although the weather was a bit wacky (somewhat expected in November), we had fun and would consider MSC again. We did miss our Crown & Anchor drinks! Best to all. Happy Thanksgiving. 11

Having lived on Nantucket as a kid the history of the Andrea Doria and Stockholm collision has always been fascinating to me. Very interesting to see this ship. I'll need to finish watching tomorrow.
