Fifth cruise in a row canceled. Next sailing scheduled for April 4th 2021. Maybe it will sail.

Sure having trouble using FCC's.

I'm in the same boat. Our jan cruise is our 9th or 10th cancelled cruise.  Suspect my march 28th will be cancelled too.  I got cash refund for last couple of cancelled cruises.  Too many fccs to use

I still have no idea if my January cruise is still going on Spectrum of the Seas because it departs out of Hong Kong... technically it’s part of China but they have their own “government” and have their own sets of rules and regulations different than that of mainland China... on top of that, the cruise visits Japan and they are still closed to cruises and most international travel.

Should I be concerned about my Oasis 5/23/21 cruise out of Bayonne? This was a L&S from May 2020. Not sure if I could do a L&S again to May 2022, same cabin available but just seems so far out. Also have B2B Oasis October 2021 & Anthem B2B November 2021 out of Bayonne. Had just too many cruises cancelled already.

Wow.  VERY glad I lifted and shifted my February cruise 2 weeks ago to January 2022.  After 2 cancelled on RCCL and 9 on carnival, I gave up.  Crossing my fingers for Alaska 2021 but if its looking grim, will lift and shift since I still have one more shot to do this one.

Are you saying 10% off next cruise is your new offer?  Did you have any other casino offers?  We had 3 offers in there and booked a freebie for end of september for 7 nights on oasis.  I figure september will be a better chance of it actually sailing.

Yes 😟.  That was also the offer I received for the Mariner on 12/7/20.  The casino rep pointed out that my other offers might be a better deal.  In the name of full disclosure, though, my late SO and I spent a lot of time in the casino and received a lot of good offers.  Since he died in 2017, I have spent very little time in the casino and receive good offers only occasionally.  I think I am at the bottom of their list and they only get to me occasionally.  It is still disappointing to begin with a 7-night Harmony, be reduced to a 4-night Mariner, and then a 10% discount.

Right now only 1 lift and shift allowed. Everyone is hoping for some rule changes

Unless they extend lift and shift past april of 2022  you cant lift and shift alaska.

its all so uncertain. i'm also concerned about my july 2021 oasis cruise. i had a sailing scheduled for jan that was just cancelled and am hesitant to use the FCC from this sailing towards the july oasis one. i'm not sure how they will go about refunding/fcc in the event my july sailing is cancelled. so stressful!

With all my cancelled cruises I got confused, my May 2021 Oasis cruise was not a L&S, I applied a FCC from a December 2020 cruise which I cancelled before RCL did. So my question now is can I do a L&S to May 2022 with price protected. Price for May 2022 is more then $1200 higher.

So we had a bunch of things booked like excursions and dining package.  When I go to try and cancel I get this message:

IMPORTANT UPDATE
This sailing has been suspended as a result of changes and developments related to COVID-19. Learn More
If you pre-purchased any Cruise Planner items, you are eligible to receive an Onboard Credit in the value of 125% of the total Cruise Planner purchases on your reservation. Click here to request your higher value credit through December 16, 2020.

So does that mean we will not be getting a refund on anything we booked for extras?

I got the same message for my January Grandeur cruise.  My interpretation is that if I click I will receive 125% of my cruise planner in OBC, if I don't click (I did not), I will get the full amount credited to my cc that I used for the purchases.  That has been the case for the 7 previous cancellations, but they never made me that offer.  I hope I have interpreted it right, I would not know which future cruise to assign the OBC to.  Every cruise we have booked is a ? in these times.

That's how I am interpreting it as well.  Good.  Thanks!

No, L&S is only through April 2022 at this point.  I also have a May 2021 sailing that I would like to L&S.  I would try to do yours anyways just in case you can move it to April 2022.  My sailing is Alaska and that season doesn't start until May, so there was nothing for me to try to switch to in April.  I did try anyway and it said my reservation wasn't eligible.  I wish mine was only up $1200 as I would likely just book, mine is more than double what we paid.😳

Not surprised at all.

Assuming they start Navigator and/or Mariner In March or April hopefully we'll see more ships sailing in May into June and the rest of the fleet (or what's left of it) soon after.

Me neither.  Fear-factor is cranked up pretty high...won't be surprised to see addt'l cancellations.

Fed up with all the rigamarole.  Every time we shift to another cruise it seems our FCC covers less and less.  Took the refund  since who knows what will change next.  Between his job’s internal quarantine requirements, big Navy and their ever changing policies, general Florida issues, it’s a Charlie Foxtrot .

Cruise sails - February 28

Final payment due November 30

Cruise canceled December 2

You will be able to get 100% of your money returned to  the original  form of payment.  ( or the 125% FCC).   For our December  cancelled cruises, it took less than 2 weeks for the credits to show up on the credit card acct.   If it all goes well,  you might be without  your money for just 2 weeks or so.   That is likely a better option than if you had canceled just prior to final payment.

Good luck

Music to RCG's ears... this has been predicted back in April.

Very very smart decision. It's good to see more and more CC'ers actually seeing/doing this as an option (if possible) rather than keeping their heads buried deeply in the sand.

The next complaints I predict we may read on many upcoming threads is roughly in March when the upcoming April/May TAs/TPs are all supposed to happen... they too get cancelled and the various ships will not be anywhere close to where they are supposed to be to home ported in Q2 and Q3. That's when RC will re-deploy (if they even can) their ships close to where they are today and change many itineraries.

  • Will Ovation/Q/Radiance be allowed to do their TPs to Seattle/Vancouver?
  • Will Serenade get from Barbados to Vancouver?
  • Will Majesty get back to New Orleans from Crete?
  • Will Empress get to Bayonne from Crete?
  • Will Rhapsody race (with/without passengers) from her current position San Juan to Venice?
  • Will Adventure sail (with/without passengers) from the Caribbean to Barcelona?
  • etc etc etc

The above hasn't even factored in the PVSA, countries actually allowing cruise ships to dock, etc.

I think there's a high possibility that there's going to be a lot of itineraries and many cruiser's booked vacations blown up by March depending on how test cruises go, CDC, yada yada yada

Yep, it's almost certain that most scheduled cruises in March and April won't sail.  MABYE a few, but most will be cancelled.  Or of course, maybe all of them.....

And then the May-to-Sept cruises which I feel will be really hard hit by everyone expecting the ships requiring a TA or TP to be home ported where their itineraries say they will be... but they won't get there.

If anything, if cruising gets anywhere close to being able to getting started "normally", I can envision something like the following:

Rhapsody does not do a TA, stays in North America and is re-deployed to Bayonne in place of Empress. Empress (if still in the fleet, which I 99.99% doubt) does not do a TA to Bayonne, instead trades off with Rhapsody and is deployed to Venice (she's only 1-2 days away from Venice as we speak). This saves RCG a whole ton of time and precious $$$$.

Alaska 2021 is not likely to happen IMO as they are not going to move the ships over here until Canada announces when the ports are going to open.
