Rare AbbyCruiser45 Posted May 18, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) As per the Celebrity TA Webinar (note, I am not a TA, just saw this in a Facebook group). They also confirmed that vaccinated guests will be allowed to explore ports independently. Great news today! TrulyBlonde Posted May 18, 2021 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2021 Our cruise is not until end of April 22. This is a very positive sign that we will take this cruise. Yippee! Mask Freedom!

It's a CDC decision but will carry over into the Caribbean ports for this summer also.
kathynorth Posted May 18, 2021 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2021 This notice refers to on-ship requirements. Passengers will still need to follow local guidelines when going into port. It was emphasized that any non-vaccinated passengers, including children, will need to wear masks while indoors, except while eating/drinking. 2
Jeremiah1212 Posted May 18, 2021 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2021 They also changed the vaccine requirement age from 18 to 16 for Apex and Millennium sailings, and may drop that to age 12 in the future. 1

RCL is/was waiting until later this week for additional CDC updates to become available regarding Adventure cruises also, or maybe this was it and they will announce those onboard guidelines soon. There are definitely more changes coming one way or another.

While the CDC did make similar announcements that they were all qualified with the "a cruise line could allow" not that it automatically applied to all cruise and cruise lines. So if a cruise line planned to do so they would need to address it in their plan to the CDC on exactly how they would manage it, if everyone is not vaccinated.
miched Posted May 19, 2021 #17 Share Posted May 19, 2021 How will they enforce non vaccinated having to wear masks? The only way possible is to give those that are vaccinated a wrist band. If they gave a wrist band to those that weren’t vaccinated they would cut it off. If those that aren’t vaccinated are caught without a mask what would they do? I would rather see that everyone sailing needs to have been vaccinated. You need to protect all the passengers, the crew, the ports, and the ship. It is your right to choose to be vaccinated but being able to go on a cruise isn’t a right. The Noro virus was bad but this is deadly, and you don’t have the right to expose others to it because you don’t want to be vaccinated. my opinion and others may disagree and that is your right. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Rare Germancruiser Posted May 19, 2021 #18 Share Posted May 19, 2021 So with X that might not be a problem- as far as I know everyone has to be vaccinated to get on board. Except the ones under 18- who then would have to wear their masks. Besides- I really don´t care- not so very hard to wear mask indoors. So I patiently wait how the rules are, wehn I board the Apex in about four weeks time.

Nothing official but that was certainly the desire that was expressed.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 For Apex and Millennium they have already lowered the required vaccination age to 16 from 18. Everyone else must be vaccinated. All adults. And it sounds like they will soon change that again to everyone age 12 and older must be vaccinated. These rules will almost certainly apply to US cruises too. It should be pretty easy to determine who is under 12 years old onboard. Anyone else you see will be vaccinated and doesn’t have to wear a mask.

If we get a 120 hour PCR test (because we are coming in a day before the cruise) to get into Saint Martin, Celebrity will do a second test at the pier before we board? So, we do not have to do a 72 hour PCR test before we get to the pier? Thanks for any information.

AS of yet the cruise lines owned by RCL and those owned by CCL have not committed to vaccination required for US based cruises. If they have recognized it they should be willing to announce that it will be their policy for US cruises.
