Not gonna happen. Smoking and gambling goes hand in hand to too many people. Carnival tried to make one of its ships 100% smoke free. It didnt last long. Im sure RC gets hundreds of maybe even thousands of complaints a year about it
3monkeys4me Posted June 21, 2021 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2021 While I would love for smoking to be banned from the casino I just don't see it happening yet. I did enjoy our cruise out of Australia since they do not allow smoking inside on those cruises. The U.K. has a similar rule and we had planned to cruise from there, but that cruise was cancelled and unfortunately none of the cruises work from these for us next year. Rare lazydayz Posted June 21, 2021 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2021 COVID would have been logical reason for Royal to stop smoking in the casino. Unfortunately, they did not. Because Royal let this chance pass, I have to agree with the brick wall comment.

The Casinos are, not the entire cruise. But I do think all smoking areas are outside. Side note, how smoky are the casinos on the Oasis Class ships? I can handle a bit...unless the table is HOT and then I'm not leaving. 🙂 Edited June 21, 2021 by PTC DAWG

FamilyCruiserUK Posted June 21, 2021 #14 Share Posted June 21, 2021 (edited) As a non smoker it would be great if they did. However i dont think it will happen sadly. For me i just avoid the casino and the side of the ship where smoking is allowed. Saves my money and health lol Edited June 21, 2021 by FamilyCruiserUK
smplybcause Posted June 21, 2021 #15 Share Posted June 21, 2021 It'd be nice of Royal followed NCL and started putting an enclosed smoking section in their casinos. The smokers get to inhale all the smoke they want without bothering other passengers.

So the question is, since Royal Caribbean also owns Celebrity, why arent all RC ships smoke free as well? Im sure this question gets asked thousands of times a year. Dont see it happening on RC ships. I just avoid the casino. Edited June 21, 2021 by ryano

I haven't sailed with RC in several years. I have been mainly on Celebrity where there are designated outdoor areas to smoke. Their casino is smoke free. I was surprized that it is still allowed on RC. If one has asthma,,COPD or smoke allergies it is difficult to breathe . The air does escape the casino and affect nearby areas. Not judging smokers, that is your choice.

Yes -- this is correct. I can't tell you how pleasant it is to not to have to inhale secondary smoke while at the Casino. If it works for Celebrity, it should work for other cruise lines as well.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that when someone exhales cigarette smoke, their exhale is much more forceful than a normal exhalation. Believe me, I know as I was a heavy smoker for 35 years. Thankfully, I quit that nasty habit in 2005, cold turkey. So......if anyone who tested negative before embarking on the ship is actually infected but the test had a false negative result or the person did not have enough virual load AT THE TIME of the test to actually give a positive result, then that person will spew virus all over the place INDOORS in a casino, thus spreading their "gift" to others. How can TPTB allow smoking INDOORS in casinos on the ships during a pandemic with a virus that spreads via airborne droplets and aerosols? Seriously, SMH.

Once or twice a Sailing while they are refueling the Casino(even though closed) is the only place on the Ship to Smoke, this for Hours. Ban it there they'd have to create another indoor Smoking area
