Not quite Ready -- How far off are you pushing your cruises ?

Recommended Posts

We had six Carnival cruises booked before Covid.  Four have been cancelled.  The last two were B2B's starting September 19 out of NOLA.

We rescheduled these two September Carnival cruises out of NOLA to April 2024, still keeping a B2B, and basically the same itinerary.

How far into the future do y'all feel comfortable cruising again ?

November?

That is my first planned cruise of 3 in the next year.

Seriously, if I had time and could convince my husband, I’d go sooner.

I’m not getting any younger and lost 1.5 years of cruising/travel, Vaccinated and ready to get on board.

We had November booked but pushed it out until January. Even with 6 months to go I'm nervous and watching the cruising news like a hawk

I’m honestly worried about my November cruise being cancelled; it’s out of Mobile and the boat is only scheduled to start cruising the month prior.  Booked it because I can drive to Mobile and I’m trying to avoid getting back on planes as long as possible (crowds, huge TSA lines, expensive flights, masks on flights...or so I’ve heard).

If that is cancelled, my next one is February.

We've had a cruise booked in November out of Mobile for some time now,  that was supposed to be our first post-Covid trip.  Until I found a deal that was too good to pass up for September out of Port Canaveral on the Magic.

Fingers crossed.

Booked on the Mardi Gras for Halloween.  Was supposed to go on the Oasis out of Bayonne at the end of August.  Decided to see what airfare was to possibly sail on the Horizon in August while the 95% vaccinated policy was still in effect.  Got roundtrip airfare on American for 133 bucks and a 4J for 600.  No brainer.

September.  I booked the September cruise on the Conquest, B2B, in January?   In the middle of one of the worst bits, anyway.  At the time, I figured by then...  when I checked last night, it was still going.  I like the Conquest and sailing out of Miami.  We'll see if it stops in Key West.  I'm not planning on getting off, but if it stops in Key West I might.  Then I have the Mardi Gras booked for November.  That was booked about when bookings for Mardi Gras first opened, so a long, long, time ago.  Then the Vista in February.

Sept and I'd have gone sooner with a good price. Haven't gotten any special offers from either rcl or carnival out of Galveston. Just happens sept is my next uncancelled cruise.

Lost 6 I think, last was the best ever balcony deal, though nothing like some are getting here. Lost enough cruising time, making up for what I lost.

We are in Nov 2021. I just wish NCL, RCL, and CCL would wake up to what is happening in the world and to acknowledge that there is a financial impact if they let the Delta variant impact sailing. I am 99.99% confident cruising and travel can be safe for vaccinated passengers.

We aren't even thinking about cruising again until it gets back to normal or at least close to what it use to be.

Same here. It will be at least until next summer as DW has decided not to retire yet as a teacher. Next summer will also be an anniversary ending in -5, and we've been doing special things on those starting with our first cruise in the Western Mediterranean for our 25th anniversary. Next summer will be 45.

I've got a cruise booked in November.  I finally feel like I might maybe be able to think we might be able to go.  Which is just a wordy way to say I hope, I hope, I hope.

Final payment is due in a bit less than two months so I hope that we can make a decision by then.

I feel comfortable right now. Leaving August 21st, which I booked like a week ago. I'm vaccinated and have as much risk of catching something here at home as on the ship. It's nonsense the idea that cruise ships are more dangerous for disease than any large resort, casino hotel, Amtrak, festivals and sporting events, Walmart- really anywhere that large groups come together in close contact, even outside at funerals, weddings ect.
