Potato Chips

Recommended Posts

I was gonna roll my eyes at this but my grandson has informed me that they are an essential food group. I know my son would order a bag with a sandwich from room service every night 🙄.  I imagine you’ll find them somewhere.

I know chips are available on the oasis class ships at Park Cafe, but are they available on any other RC ships?  We'll be on Mariner of the Seas on our next cruise.

Thanks in advance

I dont eat any junk food other than plain chips , so the lays brand in the park cafe were a nice thing to find . No dips, no artificial flavoring , just good old plain chips to accompany a sandwich.

Sometimes i eat them all on their own too.

The kettle fried ones are also tasty , dont know if you have the Miss Vicky brand. I have those in the house right now.

Yes, and people go through them like they've never had potato chips before.  On GR, in the solarium is where their park cafe counter is and at lunch time, it got so bad with people grabbing them, they started people having to ask and handing them a bag or two.  Several times they ran out of the plain potato chips.  People were hoarding them for snacking later which made a shortage at lunch time.  We've been on GR 7 times and several times they ran out before 1 pm.  There have actually been discussions about it in the past.

It's funny how the little things add up.  On our recent cruise having a bag of potato chips one day was a perfect treat with our drinks.  They used to hand up bottle of crunchies at bars, but, for obvious reasons, aren't doing that right now.  The chips added a little salty to go with our drinks.

One the other end of the spectrum, we also love the Ranger Cookies (they called them coconut oatmeal on our cruise.. not sure why) are really yummy and we've never been able to reproduce them at home.

We wouldn't stop cruise or cruise more often for any of these reasons, but it's always nice to find familiar treats.

Sailed on Oasis on Sept. 5th and disappointed as there was only 1 type available at Park Cafe.  Prior to the Pandemic, I was able to choose between some 3-4 types, including baked ones.  The same applied to the Quantum and Anthem sails.

Ps: I love the baked chips.

But do they have Ketchup flavoured potato chips on board. Yummy!

Never seen them on a ship.  When I was a Girl Scout and we would go camping, on the way to one particular girl scout camp we would stop at a small gas station/store and they had them.  I loved those things but have never found them since.  Apparently, you can get them in PA.

Wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it for myself.
