This is first time I am posting on this thread. Interesting thread, good info but I must say I never heard of National grab some nuts day. I promise not to go there 😀.  My DW always says I like peanuts until I discovered cashews. I think that statement has a deeper meaning.

Good morning and thanks for the update. It’s supposed to be not quite as hot today and less humid. Tomorrow is the worst day with the feel like temperature over 100.
I have a Dr appointment this morning with the hand specialist. I hope a decision will be made whether it’s surgery or steroids, I just want a decision.
Then, this afternoon is a routine vet appointment for Ninja and hopefully a surgery appointment for Fluff.  I never thought life would be this complicated.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.❤️🙏

Not having a plan of action is the hardest part when you are living with pain.  I sure hope life uncomplicates and you get the answers and care you need.

I am currently dog sitting our cousin's dog and was taking him on his morning walk when you posted this. There is an Argentinian  bakery across the street and this morning I stopped and picked up some empanadas on our way home. They make really delicious versions and this is my favorite way to "make" them.

I think that would be my favorite recipe as well.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Who remembers enjoying the "good nuts" served on a BHB on Formal Night?  We also enjoy flying KLM biz class because they serve little dishes of warm mixed nuts as a snack.

We had warm nuts on our United Business Class flight home on Sunday.  Mmmm

Not a lot on the docket today; I think it might be a good day to go through the "cruise tub" - a large Rubbermaid tub with things I think we might use on our travels.  I'm pretty sure it's time to cull some things, or maybe start using up some of the 16 small tubes of tooth paste.  LOL

The cruise tub sounds like a wonderful idea.  I think I might have to institute that plan!

@dfishwelcome back!  Sorry about Donna testing positive for Covid, and hope they find Sue's luggage.  It's time she started on a claim process if she hasn't already.

She did file a claim at the pier, but it was entered into the system incorrectly and she keeps getting messages that they are looking for her red prescription glasses.   Believe me, that is not helping the situation.  I filed a corrected report today and also sent an email to Guest Relations asking them to double check that they were indeed looking for a large navy blue suitcase.  I filed it because Sue is a true Luddite and has no internet at home.

It is going to be a hot one in northeast Ohio today.   Temps into the 90s with the humidity that accompanies high temps.  I'm going out to walk my laps early today and then staying in.  Donna has tested positive for Covid this morning.  So far Sue and I are testing negative.  Donna most likely picked it up in the airport or on the plane.  We all commented that we felt like outcasts wearing our masks as no one else was.

Yikes!  First the snafu with the wheelchair at the airport and now this.  Wishing you and Sue continued negativity.

I have a cruise tub also it was very useful last month when I got a last minute cruise. Didn't have to go to the store and risk C exposure!

And after our standard play, training I decided to see if I could lure her to walk on leash all the way down the long driveway to the street.  It wasn’t a pretty walk but we did it.  She was absolutely zonked after.

Jacqui, Shadow is a great presence in your life after your husband and previous dog passed.  As someone who has lost a spouse, I'm jealous.  Hurray for Shadow and You!

Good morning. I love the recipes thanks Debbie @dfish.dfish.I am sorry that Donna has tested positive  and hope you and Sue continued  to be negative. Oh my on the lost luggage.

We continue to feel slowly better except for Tana and DH who have had fevers, night sweats and coughing.Tana's pulmonary fibrosis  diagnosis and constant O2 use complicates the situation  significantly. Of course, I am a world class worrier and have to work at remaining calm when things get a little dicey.

I would actually  enjoy being able to clean our floors but will wait until I have some endurance. They need it!

The heat is making a return to our area starting later today and tomorrow.

@Cruzin Terri, safe travels and I hope the pain  is relieved.

@cat shepard,  and @StLouisCruisers,  thanks for the good wishes.

@aliaschief I am very much enjoying your pictures  and commentary. Thank you.

Terry

Update, back from hand Dr , no surgery at this time. Going the Botox route. He has to get authorization from the insurance company first, not sure how long it will take. The procedure will take about an hour and last 3/4 months, with PT to follow.

DW and I are in our Boston hotel room ready to board the N. Statendam.  We’ve received conflicting info from HAL regarding our boarding time.   Couple of days ago, we received an email that we should not show up until 2:00 because the ship will be having an inspection.  Our boarding pass now shows 11:20, which is earlier than it’s been showing.  The hotel is allowing us a late check out, so I think we will walk next door and have lunch and then decide when to call Uber.

P.S.  Welcome @RedneckBob!

It's good to have a plan isn't it?  I hate all the uncertainty sometimes with getting a diagnosis and a plan to move forward.  I hope the Botox and therapy work very well for you.  🤞

Welcome to @RedneckBob!  Stop by anytime.  We love to laugh.🤣

OMG Debbie - glad you are on top of it for her.  Sheesh on the report being filed incorrectly 😡

We can’t say hurray yet 😉 and there are days I don’t feel strong enough to deal with her but I do 😉 but thank you and sorry about your loss.

Wow!  A busy day.  Good luck at the doctor and may Ninja’s appointment remain routine.  Good luck for Fluff for a successful surgery 🙏🏻

I may need to know a signal to give Sadie when we meet her Friday upon arrival in Cincinnati.  DD says she loves meeting people but will jump on you.  So I need to let her know I don't want that type of greeting.  I hear she's a lot more energetic than Gracie was as a pup.

Flat hand over her so that her nose would hit it and a stern “uh uh” or “no”.

if that doesn’t work, “make like a tree and be perfectly still” or turn your back on her.

Oh that’s a good idea - I have to do that too.  I’m sure there is a lot expired OTC’s and toothpaste - it’s been so long since we cruised and I probably don’t need all the stuff I used in the past with just me 😔

Good morning, all! Of course, my first thought at Grab Some Nuts Day was cashews😇. Or not😈. I’ve never heard of CLOVES syndrome before.
The full on deep cleaning on the house continues on schedule. Today is the living room dining room area. To add to that, we have company coming for dinner tonight. I’m making dirty rice with chicken and broccoli, and cherry cobbler for desert.

@kazu thank you for the updates on Shadow. You realize that she has become the Dailyite rescue dog and we all have an emotional investment. @dfish fingers crossed that you stay negative. Between Donna testing positive and Sue’s lost luggage, let’s hope you’re the one that dodges the bullet!

Dh is signalling that the day is moving on and so should I.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! If I was on a BHB, someone else would be cooking dinner and cleaning the livingroom, but such is life.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I like nuts and will snack on almonds. My floors are clean, so not today. People with Cloves Syndrome can have a tough time of it. Excellent quote.

The meal sounds good. I like the drink. I'll pass on the white wine.

I haven't been to Japan.

It's due to be really hot here today and cooling centers are opening. I am soooo sleepy! I've been fighting with Windows 11 on my PC; the last couple of updates wouldn't install. I saw others with issues when I searched, and tried a few things that didn't work. I didn't want to get too technical, but last night decided to reinstall Windows from an ISO. Of course I started at 11, so I was up until 1AM to watch things. That got one update in there. This AM I did a manual update rather than using the PC Windows Update and woohoo, all is good!

The hand is less sore and the lump is smaller. I still can't figure out how it happened. I took Benadryl this AM in addition to being up too late, as it's shot day. I could use a nap! I think it works better than the non-sedating stuff. BFF wants to go out to a late lunch later. It's too hot to sit outside, so hopefully the restaurant won't be too busy when we go.

@kazu I agree with what others said yesterday; up to you to choose your path during this time, and friends should be supportive. Thanks for the pictures of Shadow. Interesting info on the names and how they sound.

@Cruzin Terri Safe travels and I hope your injections today help.

@marshhawk I hope the new Dermatologist is to your liking.

@grapau27 Thanks for the info on Cloves Syndrome.

@dfish Sorry to hear that Donna tested positive; I hope you and Sue stay negative.  Thanks for the recipes!

@1ANGELCAT Thanks for the  hand specialist update. Interesting on the BOTOX. Good luck!

@aliaschief Great photos. Thanks for taking us along.

@RedneckBob Welcome to the Daily!

@Overhead Fred Safe travels to the cabin and have a great time.

@smitty34877 I'm glad some are somewhat better, but sorry to hear DH and Tana are having those symptoms. Prayers for your family.

@Mtn2Sea Bon Voyage!

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.

Thanks everyone including Roy. But I guess it’s kinder sad when it takes the National grab some nuts day to get my attention. Well, better late than never. When do we hear the ships tooting 😀

Welcome to the Daily RNB.  I have enjoyed your travel logs in the past, along with your humor.  As far as the toots, once the ships return to FLL for the season, Scrapnana gives us a sailaway thread for each departure from Port Everglades, so that is where we enjoy the toots.

Good morning all!

We're enjoying the cooler temps the past few days.  It will warm up again this weekend.

The nuts I grab are almonds, cashews and peanuts -- always "on hand" (lol) in the pantry.  I also had to look up Cloves Syndrome.  I do need to clean the kitchen floor, and should make use of this cooler day to do that.  The 2nd recipe looks good to me, as do the wine and drink too.  Have never been to Japan, thanks for any photos to come!

Oh my Debbie @dfishabout Donna.  I know what you mean about feeling like you're the only ones on the plane wearing a mask.  I'm sure that's how our DD got it flying home from Yellowstone in June.  Prayers that you and Sue remain negative and Donna's symptoms are mild.

@RedneckBobwelcome to the Daily!  I've always enjoyed your posts and humor.  You're a welcome addition to our little group here.

My appointment about my arm isn't until this afternoon.  Thank you all for the advice yesterday, I'll let you know what the verdict is.  I do know I won't accept steroids, I'd rather live with the pain than deal with the side effects of a temporary "fix".

Have a great day everyone!
