Heartgrove Posted May 15, 2023 #51 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Thank you Sandi, thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Eva, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here! @Cruzin Terri Prayers for Jim and his surgery. "Little Mini White Bites" is another nickname for White Castles. There isn't a White Castles nearby so every trip to Chicago I try to make a stop at one for 6-8 of them. Likewise for Sue although she prefers Culver's Pot Roast Sandwich. Add to this are stops for a dipped Italian Beef and square sliced Chicago Pizza. Stay Safe! - Jack

Cruzin Terri Posted May 15, 2023 #54 Share Posted May 15, 2023 We are back home. They only had to do one pass and the surrounding site was clean. Mtn2Sea Posted May 15, 2023 #58 Share Posted May 15, 2023 We were in Port Arthur, Tasmania, this past February while aboard the Zuiderdam. We took an afternoon tour that showed the coastline and various rock formations created through the ocean’s wave actions. One of the more historic sites was the Tessellated Pavement. Mudstone, limestone, salt, and waves came together to create a rock platform that looks similar to pavers. We also saw the Tasman Arch and the Devil’s Kitchen as well as an area with a blowhole. One of the prison building we saw on our walk from the tender dock to the bus. Tessellated Pavement Tasman Arch Devil’s Kitchen Blowhole area, but not enough wave action on the day we visited. Rare Crazy For Cats Posted May 15, 2023 #61 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Good Afternoon Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report. Where did the morning go? I’ve been catching up on work all morning and there is more to do this afternoon. Yesterday we did finish prepping the house for the pet sitter and I’m all packed for the Zaandam. We have a potential for frost on Thursday, I hope that they are wrong. Tonight’s dinner is some leftovers as I’m trying to clean out the freezer. I hope everyone has a good day today. 26

In fact, our neighbor's flag is hanging and not moving for a change. It is currently 68F and will reach 83F this afternoon before the rain returns. Now would be a great time to spray the weed killer, but I don't have time this morning. DH has a doctor's appointment in Waco later this morning, so we'll be leaving about 9:30. Today's quote is very true, and we should keep that in mind when dealing with others. Again, you had me with the word chocolate, and chocolate chips are good in cookies, muffins, pies, etc. I'll skip the sliders, but will honor the police officers killed in the line of duty. We'll pass on the drink and the wine because it is pricey. Sadly, we have not been to Tasmania, so I have enjoyed seeing Sandi's @StLouisCruisers pictures. @StLouisCruisers Sandi, thank you again for filling in for Rich @richwmn and Roy @rafinmd and getting us going every day. Enjoy being able to sleep later in the mornings. Sending positive thoughts for the Jaguars' game today, and that the referees on top of their game, too. @Cruzin Terri Terri, I'm sending good thoughts your way that your DH's MOHS procedure goes well, and they can get it all with the first pass. @kazu Jacqui, a glass of wine later to celebrate your getting the snow tires replaced. Truthfully, there will be a glass or two of wine today anyway. 🤣 I'm glad your getting some help with the yard work. @Lady Hudson Katherine, that is good news you were able to get an assessible cabin for a summer cruise. @richwmn Rich, I'm glad you are about settled back in the routine, and look forward to your posting the Fleet/Daily starting tomorrow. @aliaschief Bruce, safe travels home tomorrow. Enjoy your down time. Now we know what happened to the unicorns. Lenda OK, another Redneck joke about my A/C unit. Y’all probably did not realize that I was a climate activist. Rare Vict0riann Posted May 15, 2023 #65 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Good morning, Dailyites! Another interesting day here on CC, the meal looks good, I love tzatziki, and it goes really well with calamari. We're both feeling a bit frantic here, we have visitors arriving on Saturday so there's lots to do to get ready, Pat is not allowed to lift, and now I am getting nosebleeds and still have this nasty headache. Hard to concentrate, I am working on a shopping list, that's as far as I have gotten... And I am trying to get a woman in to help me clean the house that a neighbour recommended, I called her on Saturday and left a message, but she hasn't called back. Terri, I think MOHS is amazing, hope it is a great success for your DH. I'm having extra to do in my DH's place, too, but he's worth it. I'm sure yours is, too! I was looking at cruises, too, yesterday. I noticed that there is a special HIA when you book with the Early Booking Sale, so we are going to book a Panama Canal cruise for 2024, on the NA I think HIA is a better deal than Club Orange, if the HIA is still $50 a day. 21
StLouisCruisers Posted May 15, 2023 Author #66 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Let me be the one and only bad news bearer of the day. The Jags lost a while ago 3 to 2. Everytime the Jags scored the other side did shortly afterwards. It's like they forgot to play the game and let up on the pressure for a few minutes. Then there was about one minute left in the game and the other side scored a third time, leaving no time to come back. I suppose they deserved to lose if they didn't put 100% into it. Hopefully they will learn something from today and that is to play full force the entire game. That can be the moral of the day. In better news, I've just about finished the third page (of my new photo book) since I started this morning. Feeling better about it because I only got one finished yesterday! 11
cruzn single Posted May 15, 2023 #67 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Quick post and hopefully more later. @Cruzin Terri, so happy that MOHS surgery only involved one pass. I have booked several cruises with the Early Booking Bonus, best part is that it includes Crew Appreciation. I often book an obstructed view(least expensive verandah) and use CO to upgrade to my favorite aft verandah category. Often adding CO is less expensive than what the upgraded verandah would have cost me, particularly if the cruise is longer than 14 days when the daily cost of CO goes down to $15 per day instead of $25 per day. If on a Pinnacle class ship (which the NA isn’t) I still add CO for the dedicated dining room.
quilty964 Posted May 15, 2023 #70 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Happy Monday! It's a nice day here, sunny and low 70's. I started conditioning my straw bales for planting my tomatoes and cucumbers. There is a 'recipe' for 12 days of fertilizers, etc., and then you plant in them. We've had good luck the last 2 years doing this. Our 9 year old grand daughter is becoming a baker, she loves making chocolate chip cookies. This summer we're taking a decorating class with Abby, who was on the kids baking show on Food Network a few years ago. Can't wait! The recipes today sound good, but I've never tried that before. @Cruzin Terriglad to hear the procedure today went well. @StLouisCruiserssorry to hear about Ren and his soccer team today. Our grand daughter played on her High School team for 2 years, then decided she wanted to focus on golf. She did very well on the golf team! @dfishsounds like your new house work is going well. I'm sure your neighbors are loving you! Thanks to all who share here, cheers to those celebrating, and prayers for those who need them. kochleffel Posted May 15, 2023 #71 Share Posted May 15, 2023 I want to share the email that a certain vendor of kosher meat sent out yesterday. Forgot to buy her flowers? We can make that happen with our marinated and seasoned meats. Save Mother's Day by ordering a week's worth of dinners today! 12
kochleffel Posted May 15, 2023 #72 Share Posted May 15, 2023 I would have preferred not to be reminded of either chocolate chips or sliders today. I would probably like Tzatziki Chicken if it were served to me, but I couldn't make it at home except with vegan yogurt (or vegan chicken, I suppose). Yet another pineapple drink! I don't think the wine will be on my shopping list and I haven't been to Port Arthur. The National Woman Suffrage Association was one of two organizations resulting from the split of an earlier organization that stemmed from the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, north of here, in 1848. The northern Finger Lakes and Rochester were a hotbed of radicalism in the 19th century. Lucy Stone led the other organization, which favored a more gradual approach. Seneca Falls is also said to have been the model for "Bedford Falls" in It's a Wonderful Life. 16

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted May 15, 2023 #75 Share Posted May 15, 2023 Good afternoon. Our sunny skies have given way to increasing and darker clouds, with not much wind. There is a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms later this afternoon and into tomorrow. At least we had good weather to go into Waco this morning. We also took advantage of being there to do a little shopping. Since we've been home, I've been trying to catch up on things. 5 hours ago, Cruising-along said: Good morning all! Yesterday was another nice day, we saw 2 more bears! That makes 5 this trip. It was another mama black bear with one cub. They were playing and eating in the woods. We also spent more time around Old Faithful and the geysers there. A repeat of 50 years ago, we waited for 2 hours for Grand to erupt. 50 years ago we waited 2 hours in a thunderstorm but it came through and it was spectacular!! We haven’t seen it erupt since. This time we and dozens of other people gave up after a couple hours. It was fun talking to others from all over the country though. A few photos from yesterday. Old Faithful Inn off in the distance.
