Growing up in Alabama my two favorite drinks were the Alabama Slammer and a YooHoo; best served with a moonpie!

The proper and only drink for a Moon Pie is a RC Co-cola

Now that I've seen the price, I'll pass on the wine unless it's a group purchase.🫣

Thanks for the well wishes  @smitty34877 yes I have noticed a difference in my shoulder w/the reduced computer time; if that would fix it long-term, I'd never touch another one!  @Cruzin Terri your adjusted travel plans seem reasonable & doable.

Good Tuesday Morning Dailyites!  Its sunny and 69, expecting to go up to 87. Today we take Munchkin and her babies for their first vet visit.  She will go in the large carrier, and the 4 little monsters will go in the small carrier.  When I took the food out to momma, it appears my stray male pack is building back up.  Getting quite the regulars. The porch still seems to be the safest place for momma and the kittens, but we will have to introduce them to the indoor herd soon.

5c3606d37704f169c6c857d7e9bab2c1.jpg

I worked 8 hours yesterday-havent done that in a while, today if all works out, I will work 7.5 hours....tomorrow back at 5 hours.  One campaign does not work on Friday, one does not work on Saturday. I am planning on doing some local museum trips.

@kazu You can complain here.  We love you ,and it lowers your blood pressure.  I do agree with @dfish that this all came from a pedicure, you might want to sue them. Or slap them.

@JazzyVI am so sorry about your BFF's broken foot.  How ironic that it all happened on the first day that you could drive. I can just hear my mom going on about how unsafe flip flops are... and yet I still love them.  I havent been wearing them at any time that I have fallen.  I hope that his pain is relieved soon.

@smitty34877Thanks for the tip on the air conditioning.  Its been so warm here, and the pollen is terrible, but we need new filters before we can even think about turning it on. And the temps are supposed to drop this weekend -down to 54.  Ah, May....

@Cruzin TerriI'm glad that you are changing plans where both of you can be happy.

Off to wake up hubby, walk the neighbors dog, and get the fur babies ready for their first vet trip.  Whoopee!

Good morning everyone, thanks for the Daily and Maps Jacqui, Roy and Rich.   I think I will celebrate Cosmo day with a good SB blanc.  Thanks for the enlightenment on Cystosis Graham, a serious disease with little to help the patients suffering from it.   Looking forward to today's port photos.  I will pass on the chicken with broccoli but today's wine sounds lovely and the cocktail would be good with a splash of diet sprite.    Great quote by Lennon.

Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa.    Prayers for your BFF who broke his leg big time.   I hope he has someone that can help him with outside work.   I am happy to read that Richard is healing better @RMLincoln.  Debbie @dfish I hope you can get some answers and alternatives when you see your spine specialist today.  I was also happy to read that Maurice has a date set for his valve replacement @ger_77.   @Cruzin Terri So happy to read that you and your husband have come up with a plan for a future cruise.   Prayers for Tana, Chuck, Annie and everyone else in our group who need prayers.  Prayers for the people in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, the hostages and the innocents in Gaza and of course the poor souls held unjustly by the Russian Government.

We have a day of strong storms ahead of us.   I am heading out with some ladies from GC to do a site inspection for our upcoming 2025 Environmental School at the local bird sanctuary conference center.  I think a lot of the largesse for the founding of the Sanctuary was the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek.  If you want to watch some mindless silliness watch Unfrosted on Netflix about the battle between Kellogg and Post to launch the first breakfast toaster pastries.  Have a lovely Tuesday.  Nancy

I have been following the salvage operation of Baltimore’s FSK bridge. It is such a phenomenal undertaking.

This pic shows the bridge’s pier that fell across the bow of the Dali. Once removed they will need to refloat the Dali and tow it to a pier.

Good morning!!!

I think the meal would be tasty...  But I love my chicken fried and with cream gravy!  So, I'll pass for today -- but file that recipe away!

The Cocktail of the day sound yummy!!!

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach

Excellent quote by John Lennon. I still remember the night he was killed.

Another disappointment last night for the launch. Scrubbed again, they will try again today. In the meantime Spacex launched again yesterday afternoon. I was on the golf course and it was beautiful. Although the rumble came during my backswing and I almost fell over!

@kazu  Dont you worry about complaining. That is what we all here for, to hold each other up during good and bad times. Makes me rethink pedicures!

Nothing much on the agenda today.

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning from a partly cloudy central Texas.  It is 73F and will go up to 87F this afternoon with more sun.  As Elizabeth @Haljo1935 said, we are not supposed to get any more rain until Thursday, and that looks like the only for rain until next Tuesday.  This morning we'll be heading to the Post Office in the county seat to get our passport pictures taken, and then to send the old passports and applications for in for renewal.  While we're there, we will make a quick stop at W-M to pick up some prescription refills.

As far as the days today, someone else can have my Cosmopolitan and Sauvignon Blanc.  Cystinosis is one of those rare diseases that need more attention.

I've always enjoyed John Lennon's "Imagine", and I wish the world would join the dreamers and we could live as one.

We'll pass on the meal because of the seasoning, and also on the drink of the day.  The wine sounds good, but not at that price.

Sadly, we have not been to Kushiro since it was a port we had to miss on our 2018 Circle the North Pacific Cruise.

The 1952 publication by Geoffrey Dummer of the concept for the integrated circuit was revolutionary as far as computer, and led the way to smaller and faster computers, including our modern telephones.

@MISTER 67  Good news on your labs and test results for you annual physical.

@grapau27  Graham, thank you telling us about cystinosis, something I'd never heard of.

@kazu  Jacqui, I'm sorry the foot was too painful to allow you to sleep.  Don't worry about whining or complaining to us.  We are all interested in how you are doing.  I'm guessing you are looking for a new place to get a pedicure in the future.

@Haljo1935  Elizabeth, I hope the eye procedure goes smoothly today, and that the neurologist has another drug to help that the insurance company will approve.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm glad you have help when needed.  Because of cedar pollen, we have the a/c on and the windows closed.

@Cruzin Terri  Terri, I'm very happy you and Jim found a way to travel that Jim can enjoy without stressing out.

@dfish  Debbie, I hope the ablation is approved and can be done soon.  I hope the pain clinic can help with the neck too.

@richwmn  Rich, it's not RC Co-cola, but a Moon Pie is also good with Dr. Pepper.  It can become a "big smore" if heated in the microwave.  That's how DH likes them, and sometime with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

@marshhawk  Annie, I hope the vet visit goes well, and the entry into the carriers is not difficult.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I'll happily celebrate Cosmopolitan day, especially if it's a Grapefruit Cosmo!  I hadn't heard of cystinosis, so thanks for the explanation.  I'll let all my white wine friends enjoy my share of Sauvignon Blanc.  A great quote, and thank you for the integrated circuits, as that's what keeps us all together today.

Well the "frozen tundra" isn't frozen any more, it's soggy.  The rain began off and on yesterday morning, then around 6:30 last night it really started coming down.  Looking out the front window this morning, it's still raining, there's water running down the street, and the lawns in the area are already looking much greener than a couple of days ago.  It's amazing what rain will do that water from the tap won't.  I'm sure it has something to do with the natural ions in rainwater.

@kazuI'm so sorry your foot is giving you such problems; I do hope you call the salon where you had your pedicure to complain about it - they need to know they've caused issues with their service.  I hope the antibiotics do their trick.

@JazzyV yikes on your BFF!  How fortuitous that his accident happened on the first day you were able to get back in the driver's seat!

@RMLincolnI'm glad Richard's eye seems to be progressing well; keep up the good work.

@dfish and @Haljo1935 good luck to both of you at your medical appointments today.

@Cruzin TerriI'm glad you and Jim had a serious discussion about future travel - you both want to be able to go away and feel comfortable, and talking about it is the first step.

@smitty34877good idea about the A/C to help with the pollen in the house.

@marshhawk sounds like you're herding cats this morning, LOL   Good luck at the vet's with all of them.  You're getting serious work hours, just make sure you have some "you" hours in the day as well.

@Mr. BostonI've been meaning to ask, how did your open house go?  Have you found a new property in Maine?

I've got breakfast this morning with my retired colleagues, so it'll be interesting to see what's happened in their lives over the past 2 months.  I missed last month's gathering as DH had a medical appointment, so today is catch-up day for me.  It'll also be a chance to hear about one who just returned from a Mediterranean cruise.

I'm not sure I'd like the drink of the day, but have copied out the recipe for it to add to the "gotta try" drinks on next year's TA.  I think I'd like the wine, but it's a little pricey.  Looking at the food offerings for today, I'm thinking the second recipe that includes potatoes will be what I'll make, but substituting cauliflower for the broccoli to please DH, and we can enjoy that at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, in wars, in storms, in turmoil, and in pain.  Cheers to all with celebrations today.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Good morning Daily-ites

Thank you @kazu for the Fleet Report. I sure wish we could get better news on your foot. I would certainly let your salon know what's going on. Never worry about griping. We love you and we're here to help.

Prayers lifted to all on Vanessa's finely tuned cares list. Vanessa, especially adding your BFF in prayer. Sandi @StLouisCruisers: How is your brother doing?

I really wish I had my phone with me when I took Oliver out this morning. A rabbit started chasing Ollie around the yard! Ollie thought it great fun. The bunny slipped through the fence and Ollie sat awhile hoping the bunny would return.

Yesterday I took a bag of lawn fertilizer, my spreader, and carpet cleaner to my GF house. I fertilized her lawn, and set up the carpet cleaner for her. She gave me a 20 pound bag of bird seed as a thanks. She helped me last week when my battery on the car died. If anyone is interested, I have the best mini jumper cables that uses a charged flash light looking battery. It doesn't need another car to do the jumping. Great gadget.

Today is Sun City Farmer's market. I hope the Alaska fish lady is there. If so, we will have grilled halibut on the table tonight.

This is an easy week. No doctors, no labs.. free as birds. Now next week is a different story.

Wishing you a blessed day. I'm thankful for our Daily-ites.

Good morning,

It was a wild night of storms here in Kansas. Prayers for all who suffered with the tornadoes. I have been reading the daily but have been busy and have not posted. My dear friend had one grandson in the hospital with complications from his Crohn’s disease with blood clots in his brain and another grandson killed in a car crash yesterday. It is beyond devastating.

Prayers for all in need.

Joy, we have several of those battery operated jumpers.  A word of caution.  Be sure the jumpers are charged when you leave home.

Lorraine, how awful for your friend.  To have one grandson in the hospital with serious complications from Crohn's, and then to have another killed in a car accident.  I hope the first grandson recovers, and our condolences to your friend and her family on the loss of her grandson.

Good morning to all. Brisk here... and the winds continue this afternoon. There was frost on the roofs this morning. My Iris seem to be struggling.

Need to get going and mop floors this morning in anticipation of the California arrivals (they are going to be freezing). @kazuReally sorry about the foot... hope the antibiotics work and the X-rays give you the all clear. @JazzyVBest wishes to your BFF. @Cruzin TerriI think taking some shorter cruises is a good idea and the one your have selected sounds good. I so enjoyed the ride up the Amazon watching the river narrow and jungle slip by. Very relaxing.

Off now to fortify myself with another cup of coffee and get to work.

Sunny and up to high 70s today in north Jersey. Today is prep day for colonoscopy tomorrow. I’ll be glad to get it over with. I’m about 6 months late due to canceling because of our move. In the past they’ve always found mild concerns so I’m hoping for a report of no worries!

I’m very appreciative of your encouragement for us!  Thank you Ann, Gerry, Lenda, Nancy, all of you holding us close during these tough days. We were very relieved yesterday to hear that the inflammation is reduced. But we both walked out of the doctor’s office yesterday a bit bewildered about the possibility of fully opening the incision maybe as soon as next Monday, or even maybe later this week depending on what the surgeon might recommend. We’re told the eye is not healed enough to be confident that it won’t collapse if there’s too much flow through the incision…. but that that wouldn’t be the end of the world, we’d just need to get to an OR to have it restricted, then start over. Well that’s rather daunting…. But reading your encouragement brings me back to taking it one day at a time!  And remembering my own words to others- to breathe and not go borrowing trouble that hasn’t arrived.

DH is getting his COVID shot tiday; I postponed till Thursday in case I have a reaction and run a slight fever, I don’t want to jeopardize my colonoscopy!

Elizabeth, I’m  hoping for Amazing results for your eye procedure and from your neurologist appt. Glad your shoulder is improved but I understand that not working when you need to be is it’s own burden. One day at a time is enough.

Jacqui, please keep checking in, we are all with you and concerned, as well as learning together!  Has anyone recommended heat pads or warm baths for your foot?  That is what our orthopedic told us for DH when he developed a bone infection in a toe (dropped a log of firewood on it, smashed against the tick hearth).

Terri, I’m very happy you and Jim are working together through options to keep living life. The future will not look like the past for us either but there’s plenty of life to be lived!

Terry, I’m happy you are getting help!  We too are finding the pollen load noticeable.

Vanessa, I hope your healing progresses and you and BFF can get the help you need.

Paul, thank you expanding on the Holocaust and Heroes Day. We must remember!

I’m starting to look at travel options for September for my birthday trip. DH woukd like to go to Ireland. Seems within reach. I was thinking more of a regional road trip- Cape Cod, Niagara Falls, Acadia NP….  it’s a good distraction!  Loved yesterday’s pix of Maine!

Today’s drink is a sweet one, I’m sure I’d enjoy it!  No solid food for me today!  I doubt we’ll get to Japan but it’s interesting to read about others’ visits.

How ‘bout those Bruins!  A 5-1 opener, on the road!  (DH was born in Boston so we’ll gladly cheer them on!  And the Rangers for me, once a New Yorker always a New Yorker!)

Blessings sent for all of you especially our Care list folks. For my country, your country and those caught in wars!

Cheers to those celebrating Life🌈. And to our many cruising friends, thanks for the travel reports!
May we and our loved ones all be safe and well.

Good morning while approaching the Eastern shore of Cuba. Presently cruising at 20 knots for an ontime arrival in Montego Bay, Jamaica tomorrow morning. Clocks were setback an hour last night. Tomorrow will be a test of sailing with 5,500 other passengers, although sailing in Yacht Club we have skip the line privileges and are escorted by a YC butler. Food has been excellent! We have a complimentary dinner Friday night  at the seafood specialty restaurant.

Thank you for all that organize the Daily and Fleet report!

Stay safe, and prayers for all in need.

- Jack

Good morning, we're right in the middle of a thunderstorm!  Hoping it doesn't last 2 long...I'm having lunch with friends and need to stop at a Dr. office to pick up a prescription for my glasses.  They were going to mail it, but it hasn't come yet.  I just got an email that said my recent blood donation is going to a local hospital, that's always a good feeling! 😊

The drink sounds interesting, what's a MoonPie?

The dinner sounds good.  I didn't read the recipes, but Aldi has an Everything Bagel seasoning mix.  It's good!

Thanks for the rest of the daily info!

@dfishI hope the RFA is scheduled quickly.

@kazuhoping your foot gets better quickly and there is no osteomyelitis.

@cruising sisterSorry to hear about your DF's grandchildren.

@RMLincolnGood luck with prep today.  I'm on the 5 year schedule, and I'm hoping there are pills I can take next time. The drinks I've used are no fun😝

Blessings on your day!  Karen

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @kazu and maps @rafinmd.

If it's the drink Cosmopolitan, I've never had one. Cystinosis is rare, but important to know about. Someone else can have my Sauvignon Blanc. It's also National Teacher's Day. Good quote. The meal looks good. Pass on the drink and wine ($$$). I haven't been to Kushiro. An important day in history for all of us computer geeks.

It's mostly cloudy here, with storms coming tonight (remnants of the bad storms in the plains). I slept well. I had taken some ibuprofen before bed, due to the increased activity yesterday. I plan to relax today and catch up on some programs on my DVR. I just texted with BFF. He's doing fair. He says it's very energy sapping to hobble around. When we see Ortho, and a decision is made of surgery vs cast, I'll ask about the knee scooter. He also managed to get someone to mow his lawn, so that's one job taken care of.

Today is my DM's heavenly birthday; she would be 120, being born in 1904. She was a teacher.

@aliaschief It sounds like you're continuing to have an amazing cruise.

@MISTER 67 Good news about your check up.

@StLouisCruisers I hope your family stays safe. This has been wild weather this spring.

@kazu I'm sorry the pain kept you awake last night. Prayers that the antibiotics work and that there is no osteomyelitis. You can whine here anytime; I did that a lot, and living alone, it was helpful (and spared BFF some).

@Haljo1935 Good luck with the eye procedure, and I hope the Neurologist has an alternative therapy.

@cat shepard Yes, it is BFF's driving foot. He was told it would probably be several months before he can drive. He is very independent, and now says he feels like an invalid. He's normally always doing things around the house, yardwork, etc., and this is tough on him.

@smitty34877 I am glad that you have some extra help with the physical stuff, while your shoulder improves.

@Cruzin Terri I'm glad you are coming up with a plan that will still allow DH to cruise, and be less stressful.

@dfish I hope the nerve ablation gets ordered today.

@marshhawk Good luck at the vet. I always thought flip flops were unsafe, and never wear them (plus I need something more supportive for my feet).

@cunnorl I was set to watch the launch last night, and then it was scrubbed.

@cruising sister Oh my goodness on the tragedies for your dear friend. Prayers for her and the family.

@1ANGELCAT I hope the shot helps Houdini.

@RMLincoln I hope for no concerns on the colonoscopy. Prayers for DH that things go smoothly. I need to get another Covid shot also; I didn't want to get it before my surgery, so I will go soon.

@Heartgrove Thanks for checking in.

@quilty964 I was on a 5 year schedule too, but last time they said it's now 7 years instead of 5.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

I think I will only acknowledge Cystinosis Awareness as I am not a fan of Cosmos or SB (except for cooking with it).  I wish more people would take Lennon's words to heart.  Pass on the drink and wine but the meal!  I was interested in the "Everything Bagel" recipe and saved it.  Never been to Kushiro and I don't think I could live without my computer.

Beautiful day here today with the high getting near 90F.  It is so sad to hear of the tornado damage in the middle of the county; I am deathly afraid of tornados.

Sorry to hear of some of the challenges dailyites are going through.  @kazu Jacqui, your foot problem does not sound good and I am glad you are getting all the medical attention.  Thoughts for those who are having challenges and on the care list.  Cheers for those celebrating.

Some pictures of my early flowers, delphinium and bachelor buttons(I think). We are expecting thunderstorms tonight so who knows what they will look like tomorrow. Hoping the pics bring a little joy to those suffering.

In other news, my lab work came back with no concerns. However, I am being referred to a dermatologist to look at some interesting lesions we have discovered.
