Very glad to hear that the staff on your ship did their duty.

 

It's always way more fun to be in control of yourself. I have found over the years that 2 to 3 drinks in succession is my absolute limit. When my teeth start to feel rubbery, I stop.

 

If I never go over that, everything turns out just fine...and I can be in my happy place for a couple hours:halo:

Seen it. Inside cabin across from us had a guy locked in it rest of the cruise with 24/7 security. He was yelling to be let out. We would laugh passing by. You really have to do a lot to get there but pushing security could warrant it. I could be wasted beyond imagination and wouldn’t do that. I think it says a lot about ones personality to act like that when drunk.

 

Where in the world were the friends?This whole story seems pretty much made up. Just a bunch of nice 30-40 year old moms doing tons of tequila shots and hitting the casino. Yeah right.

Those that think eating would have made a significant difference are naive about alcohol.

 

OP, I don’t understand how you chose to be so irresponsible. I’m glad you’re okay, since it sounds like your friends were irresponsible, too, in leaving you alone. Thanks for sharing your story.

 

Food definitely helps. It doesn't allow all the alcohol to hit an empty stomach all at once.

She even apologized the the security lady when her friends pointed her out which she didn't have to. The only way for her to apologize to all of them would have been for security to round them all up so she could. Since her girlfriends weren't with her the entire time even they wouldn't be able to point them all out.

 

Oh dear,I smoked a big fat cigar on my balcony ,I was with my 30 or 40 year old friends at the time.

Our neighbour complained to security,they came to our cabin and give me a warning.

I totally agree she learned nothing and asked for her drinking privileges back. Denial. I agree I hope she finds the help she needs.

 

Oh, just get over your self. Just because she asked for her drinking privileges back doesn't mean that she has a problem. She said she didn't even use it that night. I would have also asked for mine back if that would ever happen to me. I would think an episode like that would definitely make most people not want to repeat it again. Also, with the package it isn't only for booze. Sodas, water, speciality coffees, etc are included.

 

The OP claim that she had her drinking privileges restored makes me doubt this whole thing ever actually happened.

 

It makes me wonder if this is one of the 35 accounts that Carbuilder claims to be posting under to stir the pot.

 

I don't know who carbuilder is, but I don't know why you would think such a post would be stirring the pot. There are many other ways to do that.

In Texas an underage person can legally drink if he is with a parent. Drink must be served to the parent who can then give it to the teen. ( This was the law back when I was bartending.)

Almost no 2 states have same Alcohol Laws. Some allow under 21 to drink for Religious reason's, Educational, or if Parent or Peace Officer is present. Other's have all different times/dates when anyone can/cannot serve or buy. When I was in Military long as you were in Uniform you could drink...

IDK. Fact can be stranger than fiction. About 5 years ago I did see a security guard 'on duty' outside a grand suite for several days at the start of the cruise on Adventure in the Med. Our cabin steward (we were just a few doors away) was appropriately discreet but inferred that there was a personal issue. No idea how this 'issue' was resolved though!

What impact? Getting your drinking privileges back and not getting booted off the ship for assaulting security? Your friend will feel vindicated, by this story, in his belief that they will not do anything, not deterred.

A few friends of mine decided to take a girl’s trip on Empress of the Seas, a short 4 night cruise with an overnight in Havana. We are all professionals, with husbands and kids. All in our 30s and 40s...Not a rowdy bunch.

 

Professional friends won't let professional drunk friends be alone and left to their own devices for that long of a time period without checking up. Not one of the other three professional friends went looking for drunk professional friend? Not one of the three professional friends was notified about the savage in the dining room, the scantily clad woman in the hot tub or the irate passenger who escaped her cabin - TWICE!

I would think that laying hands on a security person is one of there zero tolerance rules. Off the ship you would go.

Or is an existing member who decided to come up with another name to post. It happens a lot on discussion boards. Either way, I'm not sure why she felt the need to "warn" others. This isn't exactly a scenario that happens to the vast majority of people who cruise. I still don't get why people call her brave or courageous. It's not like she stood up in front of a room full of people she knows and told this story. She anonymously told it so how can she be "brave or courageous"? As I said previously, she's hiding behind a screen name so if she's embarassed, then only she and her so called friends know that. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter if we're "judgmental" as none of us know her or her us so she can't really be affected by it.
