RuthC Posted July 27, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2019 The pictures shown are all wrong, compared to the text of the article. Makes me wonder about the article itself.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 27, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Sorry to hear about this. Sadly I do believe that this could happen on any ship at any time over anything. Cruise lines have relaxed too many rules and many have changed (not for the good). People are also changing.

You're right Ruth, the video itself shows everybody happy and waving the Union Jack around the pool, no sign of a brawl..

I think that's more the editor who wants to have more than just text and uses stock footage to dress up the article. Looking at other newsreports, including bbc, it happened but there is no photo/video evidence (yet). I am in aviation and those reports have invariably the wrong picture of aircraft. mcrcruiser Posted July 27, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Over indulging in booze does create problems whether at sea or on land .This is why we have laws about over drinking & driving
Rare Copper10-8 Posted July 27, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 27, 2019 What occurred on P&O's Britannia can occur on any line, given the right circumstances (read availability, overindulgence, and over serving of alcoholic beverages), combined with the general makeup of a large group of passengers (read "spring break" mentality) on board

A drink can put you over depending on the rules where you live. I am pretty sure that the people on this cruise had more than a drink or two. Paulinda Posted July 27, 2019 #14 Share Posted July 27, 2019 I bet a lot of those brawlers had the Signature Beverage Package! It occurs after 15 drinks!

Lovely other Posted July 27, 2019 #17 Share Posted July 27, 2019 The reason I refuse to sail on a predominantly British cruise line is because they go in for all this patriotic bull that just stirs up the idiot factor . Add alcohol and the current bad feelings over brexit and off it goes ... I’ve seen it first hand and that’s why I stick with HAL. Although I did get into a disagreement with a guy from Texas just after the brexit vote 😆

Doesn't everyone go to bed at 9:00 pm on HAL? At least that is what I've read on this board. I thought that was lights out. 1
