First thing onboard - what do you do?

Recommended Posts

Sailing on Anthem in November and trying to figure out what we need to do as soon as we board. Here are some things I want to do - let me know if I’m missing anything!

In no particular order:

1. Check in at excursions desk to see if we can choose location of our cabana in the water park.

2. Try out the bumper cars!

3.  Ship tour.

4.  Sign up boys for kids club.

5. Lunch (May sign up for specialty lunch -still deciding).

6. See if we can change our dining assignment (currently my time).

7. Get an umbrella drink and start getting our money’s worth on the drink package lol.

What do YOU do when first boarding the ship?  This is our first time sailing with kids and it’s their and their mom’s first cruise, so I don’t want to miss a thing for their sake!

When in Nov are you sailing? How old are your kids?  Probably anything you have to change on board first, then Adventure Ocean, then if you want to book time on iFly, then if bumper cars are in progress do that as the line can get long.  In between all that get the Sail Away drink for the day.  Get ready to run to where you want to be for Sail Away as Anthem usually starts leaving before muster drill is over, which is about the only complaint I have.  Then enjoy.  We love the Anthem and have a great time on her.

Hunt out the free champagne

Head to the dining room to see where our table is.

Get more free champagne

Lunch in Windjammer

Sunbathe on deck

Go to our cabin

Unpack

Muster Drill

Find a bar that sells champagne (sadly by now all the free stuff has gone ) and take it back to our balcony for sailaway.

Sleep for a couple of hours

Go to dinner

Bed

Oasis class ships.

1. Set up reservations for specialty restaurants

2. Sign up for laser tag

3. Go to park cafe for roast beef sandwiches and salad.

4. Have a drink and watch the teens on flow rider.

Stay far, far, far away from windjammer. Not a way to start your vacation.

Right to the dining room and check out our table. Change it if we decide to.

Exactly what we do, then off to make all our package reservations.  Or more exact, I head to Schooner  or Trellis bar and my wife goes to make all our dining reservations.
