More Salt in the Wound - Luggage Tags Arrived today

Well Celebrity is rubbing more salt in the Wound.   We received luggage tags in the mail today (never requested). for our Alaska Cruise scheduled to depart today.  

 

First off - Even if the cruise took place they would have arrived too late to be used.

 

Second -   Why does Celebrity continue to waste money sending these out for cruises that were cancelled 6 weeks ago.  I know it isn't much buy multiply it by all the cruises cancelled and it is a real wast.

 

Third -   I would have preferred my refunds for 4 cruises going back to March 14 than insulting me with more luggage tags.

On a similar line we received the notification to check in for our July Med cruise departing Rome in July. Now, it isn't cancelled yet. Because they want our final payment first due in 3 weeks. The same cruise you did last year and which I pored over. Sad times.

Yeh, we got luggage tags for our cancelled cruise too.  Ours were on time though.  I look at it as a souvenir for what might have been.  Agree, it's a waste.  I'm thinking Celebrity will catch up with all of the auto-generated e-mails and mailers at some point.  Sorry about yet another missed cruise!  I'm sure I would have enjoyed your review.

Sounds like my TA on Eclipse.  A week before received my luggage tags.

  Two days before and after cruise was cancelled got email of accepted Moveup - yes my card was charged and am still awaiting a refund - even gave me a suite instead of Aqua.  

  The morning of the cruise got detailed check-in instructions and a hearty welcome to a special boarding day lunch.

  Celebrity needs to get their communications fixed.  It is wasting money and only serving to irritate some of its most loyal customers.  They have had WEEKS to sort this.  Certainly does not give one confidence.

I got tags today for Summit departing Saturday.  I hadn't requested them either.   On our last cruise I received a second set while we were on the sailing.  I wonder if they are automatically sending them to Zenith people?

Lol, I'm nowhere near Zenith & they always send them to me :)

The CEO of luggage tags must’ve been one of the ones furloughed. And purposely left the faucet in the “ON” position to keep printing the suckers as they were escorted out the office door by security.

It’s not only Celebrity. My friends sailing on the Disney Fantasy at the end of May received their welcome package with luggage tags in the mail 2 days before receiving an email from Disney informing them that the cruise had been canceled.

Maybe i should unrequest my refund, and then maybe I’ll get it?

Now folks, you all know Celebrity's IT department sucks.  This is just one more demonstration of that.  It's just not high on their priority list.  I don't even think it's on their priority list.  Their idea of fixing their website was to add pretty pictures.  Whether they were pictures of the correct staterooms or not didn't seem to matter to them.  Obviously their IT folks don't know the ships like we do.

 

I'm curious, Jim--did you check in for that cruise?  I checked in for the first one of my B2B2B (which was cancelled) and received luggage tags for that one, but never checked in for the other two and haven't received luggage tags for those.

 

I've received the refund of my deposits for the two August cruises I recently cancelled.  But nothing from the B2B2B starting April 25 where the real money is since those were well after final payment.  That's what I'd like to see.

How was Eclipse scheduled to sail a TA when it was sailing the Pacific?

I also received luggage tags for both my May 2 and May 9 cruises which have been cancelled.  I never ordered them.  So far I have not received any money back from Celebrity for the above 2 cancelled cruises PLUS 3 other Celebrity cruises that I had booked for the remainder of 2020 (September, November & December) which only had refundable deposits on them.  I chose to cancel them now since I don't believe cruising in 2020 will be possible at all.  So Celebrity at this point owes us in the neighborhood of $20,000 but I have not seen anything refunded to my credit card.  It's very frustrating to say the least.

 So people are requesting refunds and not getting them but not requesting luggage tags and getting them…Maybe the luggage tag / refund wires are crossed??  Maybe request luggage tags, and the refunds will come!??  😉

Look on the bright side, Jim.........maybe they'll give you points for that cruise also!

Yes, they really need to fix their IT dept.  Sending luggage tags for cancelled cruises or duplicate ones for cruises that did take place and emails about something that is no longer relevant makes them look like idiots.

 

Lets just hope these guys are not the ones responsible for the refunds!

I feel your pain.   I was upgraded on two cruises and also still awaiting refund.   I did file a dispute for them.   One was awarded a couple hours before the mass cancellation.

I initially got the points but on Sunday they suddenly disappeared.   I believe that means (could be wrong) they are working on my refund.

I never thought about that.  Not listed as a Zenith perk. 

 

In the past I use to have to request them 2-3 times before getting them.
