What do other cruise lines do that you wish Royal Caribbean would do?

Haven't tendered in years it seems

FWIW, extending to upper 3 just means no priority for anyone IMHO

Would suites fit into that group?

Once in awhile we go to Grand Cayman on RC.  ((Our East and West coast US/Canada cruises on Celebrity have a few tendered ports))

Yes Celebrity does for suite guests.

Celebrity just opened up new 7 or 8 night Mexican Riviera sailings for Fall 2022 and 15 night Panama Canal Christmas sailing December 2022 out of Los Angeles on the Millennium.

I will look into that

Since there's not much to talk about these days related to cruising, I was wondering what things other cruise lines do that you wish RC did?  I feel like there's always room for improvement, for any cruise line!

For me, one of the things would be to have better (any?) poolside dining options.

I guess I am in the minority because I love everything about Royal cruises especially the opportunity to have Sorrento’s Pizza anytime .

Two things I really liked about Carnival, when we got to Platinum level, we were able to go to our room at 11:30 to drop off our carry-ons, and there is a separate line at Guest Services for Platinum/Diamond and people who purchase their Faster to the Fun.  But Royal has a much better suite program and also a better Internet package (Last I checked, NCL was still purchase by the minute for their packages).

It would be nice if the RCG recognized Veterans like Princess does by offering an OBC on all sailings.

Would be nice If they gave a 10 percent discount to veterans and there like MSC does.

These both seem like great ideas!

Lenny, there is also a lot of things RC does that would be nice if Celebrity would recognize. I guess that's why we cruise with RC and Celebrity.

On the back burner. Again.   The article is from Sept 2020 but info regarding the pier is up-to-date.

"Efforts to build a new pier go back nearly a decade. The most recent initiative, a government-backed $200 million project, led to a tense standoff between pro-port tourism stakeholders and local environmentalists earlier this year. Confronted with a court battle, not to mention the cruise traffic halt caused by the COVID-19 crisis, the government abandoned the project in February. (2020)"

Here is the link.

Also, Grand Cayman does not see a return to cruising until 2022.

Yay! Thank you for alerting me to these cruises - the 2022 December holiday cruise through the Panama Canal looks amazing!

Celebrity is our favorite with Royal a close second.

Royal does entertainment the best (although NCL is excellent as well), Celebrity's MDR dining has the edge over Royal.    Also, Celebrity's buffet salad bar is better than Royal's.

Still Royal's Diamond HH extends to 8:30 and that is great.

Also, Celebrity is going to all inclusive and their fares are going up and up, so we may be doing more Royal cruises in the future.

Later  closing time at night for the Windjammer. Maybe 11:00 instead of 9:30.

Totally agree with this.  Sometimes you go up after the show looking for a snack and it's either closed or there's nothing but pizza.  Not everybody eats pizza, particularly cruise ship pizza.  Also love the way NCL has one of the main dining rooms open for lunch when you embark.  We always look forward to celebrating the beginning of our cruise with a nice quiet  MDR lunch.  Very few people there since they don't publish it and the crew will try hard to re-direct you to the buffet.

 - Instant savings and OBC offers combinable with the balcony discount.

 - Military discount or OBC offered on every cruise.

 - Leftover FCC converted to OBC

 - Final payment  moved to 30 days prior to sailing until sailings resume

Those are some of the best ideas so far. Maybe add interline rate transferable to TA.

There is hope.  The casino rates that were previously non commissionable now pay a flat rate commission to travel agents.  It’s not much but it is an acknowledgement of the work that many agents were doing in servicing their customers casino bookings.

Also, make the OBC stackable or it really isn’t anything special for military.

I also wish that Royal sailed out of the upper West Side piers instead of out in Bayone, New Jersey, which is a pain to get to for many New Yorkers since it is way the heck across Staten Island.

Well said!  Originally, RCCL marketed Bayonne as "New York," leading many to book flights into JFK or LGA.  The West Side piers would be a great benefit to the millions living in most of NYC and Long Island.

I booked the 14 night Grandeur on Feb 20, 2022 and when I tried to transfer it to my TA they said I could not b/c there is a very small (5%) casino discount on it.  What a PITA.  She is appealing that.  Hopefully they will let the booking be transferred.

Pretty sure they are a big stakeholder in Bayonne, so I doubt they would go out of the city.

And can Oasis even dock there. And I mean board, not day trips

Not sure what you mean by stackable but any OBC is appreciated by me. The OBC also is more than just the dollar amount.

Maybe transferring them is different than having the TA book them directly through the casino.  I've booked comped cruises for clients and still received the flat rate commission
