Good morning.  Love this thread, a great place to start the day.  Thanks everyone.

It's supposed to be another nice day here, high of 27°C (81°F).  Wow, that could be a new record high temperature.

A big thank you to custodial workers.  I've never named my car.

Interesting quote from an interesting person.

I haven't had mac and cheese in ages, maybe I should make some today.

I hope the drink is good, I love tea.   I'm sure I'll like the wine.

I've never been to today's port.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.

It's still dark, but Bertie wants to go for a walk, hope he can wait a little longer.🤞

Good morning from a cloudy 57°F North East England.

Custodial workers do a great job keeping our schools, hospital's etc clean for us.

Pauline has given our cars names.

I dislike some people but I don't hold grudges because life is too short for grudges although I know some people hold a grudge against me even after I have been kind and friendly to them.

I will give today's food and drink a miss.

Prayers 🙏 offered to everyone who is unwell.

Take care and stay safe and have a lovely day.

Graham.

Good morning friends!  Well today it is 57F, a nice chill in the air.  Later it will be sunny and 81.  Sounds good to me!  I was tired and overslept about 10 minutes.  Late to the treadmill but I'm almost back on schedule now.

Thank you Rich @richwmn for our Daily and Fleet Report.  It's nice that custodial workers have a day of appreciation. This applies to house cleaners, too.  Hard work and not a lot of respect offered to them.  I have never named a car but I do treat them well!  Thank goodness for farm animals.  My grandpa had many animals on his farm and it was cool to go visit on weekends and experience the farm life.  Elon's quote is so true!  I love mac and cheese and had some recently.  No thanks to the cocktail or wine.  What a great day in American history in 1789.  Good old George Washington!  Many thanks to our F&B ladies, Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for your reports today.

Prayers for so many these days.  I haven't heard a word since Sunday from friend Susan.  I may send her an encouraging text later.  Praying for improvement in her DH Scott and her DB Mark.  Also my DB with IPF.  Praying for a miracle for Baby Murphy and Melisa @HAL Sailer's DH.  Also the many DH's under the weather or recovering from surgery/serious illness including @Tbay, @Lady Hudson, @RMLincoln, @mamaofami, and @marshhawk.  Hope I haven't left anyone out!  Vanessa @JazzyV thank you for the lists and the Public Service Announcement!  Three cheers for all our cruisers whether future, present, or past!  Congrats to everyone else with good news here.  We love good news!

The port of the day is Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.  I love that city!  If I had to pick a place in Australia to move to it would be there.  We had Brisbane as our destination on Dec. 28. 2021 and Oct. 4, 2022.  I'll post the links below and then retrieve my photos.  During our two visits there in 2017 we had very enjoyable tours given to us by different Aussie friends.  I'll never forget those great days.  The links:

Last night DS flew home from his latest weekend in Frisco, Texas and he was right on time.  He's becoming a regular on American Airlines each Friday afternoon and Sunday night.  However this weekend he will be going to South Bend, Indiana to visit Notre Dame with Ren.  Unfortunately friend Colton has decided not to visit ND again.  He likes Indiana University if he should go to college.  I don't think Colton really wants to go to college - he's thinking more along the lines of a pro soccer team player.  I wish him very good luck!

Have a great Monday everyone!  Stay safe and well!  Photos coming up in the next two posts from me.

Thank you Rich, Vamessa.ebbie, Dixie, and Ann.  I certainly appreciate Custodial workers and Farm Animals but have never named a car.  A great day in the history of our constitution.  I wonder when or if I will get that emergency alert message, perhaps actually on time in Saguenay.

Bon Voyage (Wow!) @lindaler,

I don't think I've been to Brisbane.  Not a fan of Elan Musk but interesting quote.  I may end up passing Zuiderdam in the middle of the night.

I love Mac and Cheese at home but am unlikely to see it the next 8 days.  My alternative is Cherry Bisque, Fillet of Lamb, and Mango Sorbet as served in the Princess Grill last night.  The photo will be delayed.

My photos from Brisbane.

Today's port of Brisbane was one of our favorites.  We went twice in 2017 and on one visit a CC friend met us and took us around.  The second time there some friends we met on our Seabourn Antarctica cruise met up with us and took us all around the area.  My Aussie friends are so, so nice!   I warn you, there are many photos!

We did a circumnavigation cruise of Australia (on Sun Princess), and I would recommend it to anyone who can make their way to the "Land Down Under".  We also docked in the industrial port outside the city and took a shuttle bus to the central business district. 00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJTZaWiOQnxthme02TYJaIO?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1513606690

The Anzac Square Memorial on Ann Street where the bus dropped us off.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIAFaPhO9HepKWzAGY9yK1a?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1513606797

Just around the corner was the Roma Street Parkland which was beautifully groomed.  Amazing it was surrounded by so many skyscrapers.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVI3vH9IaBdSaPzQJX2fz37Y?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1513606984

This is the City Hall, which we went inside to take a look.  They have the Museum of Brisbane on an upper floor there, which we visited briefly because there was so much to see in the city still.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL3d1einryhn3skyFKBUEbX?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1513607205

My second visit to Brisbane.

After our circumnavigation cruise we sailed on a Tasmania cruise followed by a Papua New Guinea cruise.  The PNG cruise included Brisbane on its way back to Sydney.  So several weeks later we were picked up at the industrial port, called Fisherman's Island Grain Terminal, by our Seabourn friends.  When they asked ahead of time what I wanted to see, I said kangaroos and koalas!  The first place we drove to was the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which had a lot more animals than that!00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIcVjcj84O_Zzxkohc9rrDP?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1513618808

From there we headed to the Brisbane River where one of our hosts dropped his wife and the two of us off for a ferry ride.  He met us at the other end.  We road for 45 minutes enjoying the great weather, the river and our friend.  After we three got off at I believe Hawthorne they drove us back to the ship to say goodbye. What a wonderful day in Brisbane we had!

Great collection of days - especially custodial worker & farm animals day.  Like @rafinmd I’m not a fan of Musk but his quote is so true.  Comfort food is always good.  Great day in history for the U.S. We enjoyed Brisbane very much and I would love to return.

I think I am about to officially hit panic mode.  LOL.  Too much to do and so little time.  finish my packing, pack up Ivan, clean out fridge, clean, etc.  We’ll see how I do. 🤞

Ivan and I are heading over to our neighbours late this afternoon after his walk so she can feed him dinner (and I guess me too), spend some time with him and get him settled.  So, I better get stuff done before then  and finish his “Care” note. 😉

@lindaler Bon Voyage!

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health issues, worries & those that need them 🙏  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! It is raining again! Bindi & I got a decent couple of walks in yesterday, but it was still a wet one. Lots of flooding along the roads that run through the state parks that border the Intercoastal.  Bindi is fed up with it. Me too.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with all of us. Gym, Bindi walks, chores, yard work & pool time - weather permitting.

Château Poitevin Médoc 2019

I used the 2019 vintage info because not only might it be available, I actually found a critic’s review! And if you can find this, or even a more recent vintage, its price makes it an easy one to try. You can always use it for cooking. Available from a decent number of online distributors with prices starting at $12.98.

Critic review

"The nose offers good definition, concentration and power. There are notes of ripe/fleshy blackcurrant, crushed wild strawberry and, more slightly, cherry, combined with hints of fresh violet, nutmeg, meadow flowers and a discreet touch of torrefaction and pepper. The palate is mineral, fresh and offers juiciness, acidity, fatness, roundness, a good structure and a fine tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy wild blackberry, juicy/pulpy raspberry and, more slightly, violet, combined with touches of racy minerality and hints of toast, cardamom, tonka bean and a subtle hint of nutmeg. The tannins are racy, well-mannered and elegant." - 90 - 91/100, VertdeVin

Thank you Graham!  I really hope you get there, and don't forget beautiful New Zealand!

Melanie @puppycanducruise thank you for your comments on yesterday's Daily (this morning) about the Elliott Rose photos.  She really is cute, isn't she?  Just didn't want to confuse anyone by posting on yesterday's Daily right at this time.

I have always named my cars and presently drive an elderly Subaru named “Irv”. I have not been to the port but enjoyed the beautiful pictures thanks, Sandi, @StLouisCruisers. I loved the pictures of Elliot Rose!

The woman who interviewed yesterday will start on Wednesday. We hope it will work out. Fortunately she likes dogs as they interview as well. I am relieved but will wait and see how it goes.

Have a great day everyone

Elliott Rose is adorable! Thank you for sharing those pictures!

Thanks Ann.  She is much loved and welcomed after her twin brothers passed away at birth the year before she was born.  I'd love to get a chance meet her in person.  We haven't been back to St. Louis since DMIL's funeral in Dec. 2021

Good morning. Slept well and woke up to 68 degree temperatures. Our painter arrives at nine so we have emptied both baths in preparation. He thought it would take three days so that will pretty much dictate our week.

We took the leftover chicken and made a favorite mango chutney curry chicken dish. So good.

So we start our 22 day countdown for our first Seabourn cruise from Montreal to Miami beginning October 23 for 14 days. We have no excursions planned as we have done this itinerary many times. Who needs an excursion when lots of lobsters are available?

Time for another cup of coffee and then will get the laundry started.

Thanks for the Fleet Report, travel pics and telling us all what’s going on in your lives. Many will be enjoying another cruise. 🛳 We all share a common bond. We love to cruise. Have a great week. Bruce

Custodians and farm animals are deserving of their own day.

Life is too short for even short-term grudges. Better to remove the negativity than hold a grudge.

Like a good bowl of steaming hot, crispy topped mac & cheese (and the cool weather it's meant for), would try the drinks.

Have not been to AU; hope to go (HAL keeps doing their part by offering attractive pricing, but airlines are not).

The history day is certainly important to the US.

Currently 68° headed to 93°; possible rain 🌧 on Wed and temp under 90 (oh please, Santa, we promiseto be good).

Lots of work stuff to get caught up on and a full calendar of "regular" work, so busy day. Have to begin prepping for vacation - only 3.5 weeks away.

Definitely heading to Dr today for the URI - I just could not get up yesterday to go, but I think the fever broke.

Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
