My MIL was only with me a short 8 years, but she was my sweet friend and I loved her.

Jack the pictures of Lily are adorable. Love those curls!

Thank you to all who contribute. Especially the beautiful pictures of far away places.

Have a blessed week.

Good Morning. Just landed Atlanta and already onboard for next flight to Montreal. Been up since 3:00 AM.

Looks like bags are on board. We are good to go.

In lieu of usual here’s our sunrise experience this morning at 30,000 feet.

Have a great day. Bruce

Good morning everyone.   Thanks for the daily reports Rich.   No MIL to celebrate to today,  @grapau27 thanks for straightening me out about today's mole day, I thought it was the pesky lawn creatures.   A fun quote from Jim Carrey.    I look forward to photos of today's port.

Chicken soup sounds good today, it was 32 in Kalamazoo this morning and I see frost on the lawn so hot soup would be good.  Pass on today's cocktail, never was a fan of sour apple flavors.   The Oregon wine looks like a winner.    Thanks for researching these for us each day.

Prayers for everyone on our care list.  There are so many dealing with complications in their lives so prayers for them.      Prayers for those living in was zones - Israel, Ukraine and Gaza.

I had a great afternoon watching football as the Ravens put on a good game and thumped Detroit.  So many Detroit blue jerseys in the stands I am sure my tickets probably landed in a Detroit fans hands though I was paid well for them.  We are doing a free overnight at a nearby casino tonight.   We can watch John's Viking's game on the big screens.   I forgot my credit card in the restaurant a week ago and this will also serve to get my card back otherwise we would be sitting at home tonight.

@Heartgrove Jack, thanks for sharing the photos of pretty Lily.

Have a nice day.   Nancy

Well we had our first frost this morning. DH covered the endive and the dill so they will be ok to the end of the month. We had lovely sunshine yesterday, sun shining today, too. Only going to 50f but will warm up all week and reach 70 by midweek. Next chance of frost looks like hallowe’en night.

prayers for all who need them and cheers to those celebrating.

Thanks to @grapau27 for the explanation of Moles - I sure was not looking forward to celebrating burrowing rodents. I attended a taping of a Phil Donahue show years ago - it was heart-wrenching, frustrating, interesting and definitely prompted conversation. I don’t think today's talk show hosts are on the same level, but they can have their day. No MsIL for us to celebrate live, but we remember them fondly and miss them.

Yes to the meal, drink and wine; not been to NZ.

A one-celled fossil certainly seems worthy of recognition.

73° headed to 81°, so glad 90s are still noticeably absent from the forecast.

Very busy night ahead as the suitcases must be zipped and the Rangers go to Game 7.

Prayers and positive thoughts for all.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report.  It promises to be a beautiful chilly day.  My first thought on National Mole day was mole sauce, it’s so good.  Thanks @grapau27 for your explanation.  Today’s meal suggestion sounds good although I will make the ham today.  Yesterday it was nice to watch the Rotterdam depart.  I see that the NA is confirmed for 8 so maybe I’ll get to see it leave this morning.  Wishing everyone a nice day today.

Good morning, everyone!

@Heartgrove Lily is as cute as cute can be!

@Vict0riann Happy Birthday to your DS

I never had a MIL, but my sister's was a gem.  Diane and I could talk for hours.  Sadly, she's passed on.  I was really missing her and my mom at Emily's wedding this past weekend.  They both would have been so proud.

We are raking leaves today.  It is amazing how many came down over the weekend.  I'm sure by the end of the month they will all be down.

Soup today sounds great.  Once I started making soup I quit buying the stuff in the cans.  I make a big pot and freeze half of it so I can  pull it out at a later date and enjoy it.  In today's soup I would probably leave out the rice and replace with a vegetable.  Cabbage noodles are a good replacement.  This first one has some interesting ingredients.  https://thecozycook.com/chicken-and-rice-soup/

This next one makes it a creamy soup at the end with the addition of evaporated milk.  https://www.spendwithpennies.com/chicken-rice-soup/

No soy sauce or milk in this one.  https://iowagirleats.com/easy-chicken-and-rice-soup/

This last one has directions for making it in the instant pot.  https://www.cookincanuck.com/chicken-rice-soup-instant-pot/

Again, I had planned not to post today but had to respond to one of the day days.

Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info from all contributors.

Now for the day days; National Mole Day. I heard this joke from my Math Teacher from Tebow, Alabama over 57 years ago.

There were three moles in a hollow log. One mole sniffs around and says, “I smell syrup”. The second mole sniffs around and says, “I also smell syrup.” The third mole sniffs around and says, “I don’t smell syrup, I smell molasses!”

Here is the answer regarding closing our posts:

Hi there,
I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.  These fleet "daily" topics were causing an issue with how our system creates reports on forum activity, resulting from keeping multiple topics like this open with the same small group of members posting to them.  Closing the daily topics has fixed the problem we were having.  If you'd rather have a single "evergreen" topic in our Floataway Lounge (rather than daily posts you would just add new posts daily to the single topic), please let us know.

Good morning from a still dark, but not rainy central Texas.  As usual with Texas weather, the forecast changed -- AGAIN!  😁  Now, the rain is predicted to begin Thursday, just like the original forecast.  It is 72F and feels like 72F with 92% humidity and a dewpoint of 70F.  If it's not raining when we are on the road to and from Dallas, I can live with the humidity, even if I don't like it, and neither does my hair.  Our high today will be 82F, and this looks like the last week of warm weather.  At least, next week's highs are predicted to be in the 50s and 60s, but by the following week, it should be back in the 70s.

No mothers-in-law as our mothers and step-mothers are all gone.  I did have two good mothers-in-law, and I try to be a good mother-in-law to our DSILs.  My first thought about mole day was the pesky law critters, but thanks to Graham @grapau27 I know it's a chemistry thing, and way beyond my pay grade.  Younger DD will understand the day since she majored in chemistry.  Like everything else, talk shows have changed a lot in the past 50+ years, but even today some talk show hosts are better than others.

The Jim Carrey quote made me laugh.

We'll pass on the meal and the drink.  Chicken soup would be good, but I'm not a fan of rice in my soup.  I'd like to try the wine.

Gisborne is another NZ port we have not visited.

An interesting discovery by Elso Barghoorn in 1977.

@StLouisCruisers  Sandy, thanks for the good wishes today.  I'm glad Scott was able to move to rehab.  That should help boost his and Susan's morale as they face a long recovery.

@aliaschief  Bruce, I hope you have safe and uneventful flights today.

@Heartgrove  Cute pictures of a cute little girl.  My mother also had curly red hair.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm glad you and the dogs along with other family members got to enjoy the park yesterday.  It's amazing what a difference time outside on a sunny day can make.

Ms Crystal, your first cartoon is considered exercise. The average adult can burn up to 400 calories from tossing and turning during the night unless you wake up at 2 AM and have a ham sandwich, chips and a coke. Never happens to me! 😀

Good Morning to All and thanks for the reports.  (I thought MIL day was yesterday) I only knew one of my MILs but that was eons ago.  2 more interesting days and Jim Carrey is probably right.  The soup look delicious and I will save the instant pot recipe.  Pass on the drink and wine and never been to NZ.  What a cool discovery by Barghoorn!

I am loving the cool mornings as we head up to the 90s but that is supposed to change tomorrow with the high only in the 70s!  Definitely fall I think has arrived here in the SW.  It was reported we hit 3 or 4 days of record high temps last week.

Easy day today.  Subbing for a couple of hours and finishing up what I had started yesterday.  The BBQ sauce came out perfect and I have some for later on.

Thoughts for the world and those on the care list.  Cheers for those celebrating.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning to all.

Thank you to Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for all your work on this Daily.

And a big thank you to all of you for the support you have given me over the past week or so.

DH is having some sort of problem and I am not sure what it is.  He is finding it hard to do much and it just seemed that it was going to be too difficult to do this extensive trip.  He was getting too anxious and it was only making matters worse.  Finally after getting him to calm down a bit and talking it through, we decided that it was better to cancel. We will lose some money but it is better than the alternative.  Fortunately, the hotels were not to be charged until we stayed there, so we cancelled in sufficient time and the airfare was refundable.  RomeCabs accepted our cancellation as did a number of tours we booked.  The cruise was purchased at a sale price and that is about what we will lose unless we can get the doctor to write something.  We will see.

So that is where we are.

He seems calmer already now that the decision has been made.

Again, thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

God Bless,

Terri

Good cold and sunny morning. It’s only going up to about 70 today but then warming up to the 70’s for the rest of the week.

I think it’ll will be hot dogs and baked beans for dinner tonight so we can watch the Phillies game tonight.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.
