Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I had to look up the cow milking thing, but my initial thought was when farmers fly their cows to dairy expositions in foreign countries, they may need to be milked en route.  I was wrong.  Did someone say wine???  We've got more batteries than you can shake a stick at, but they're like tea lights, you can never have enough.

It's clear and cold this morning with a temp of -16C(3F), but looking at the trees outside, I can see there's a stiff wind, bringing the wind chill temp to near -30C.  We don't have to go anywhere today, so I think we'll just hang out at home and enjoy the warmth of our fireplace.

Welcome home to our Daily cruisers, I hope your luggage made it back with all of you.

Was everyone as excited as I was to see a photo of our little warrior Murphy?

Yesterday was busy, but good.  First thing after lunch I went over to my friend whose husband had recently passed away.  We talked, we laughed, we cried, she drank some of the wine I brought - I drank coffee because I was driving, and we talked about her sweet husband.  I knew he was in his early 50's, it turns out he was only 54.  She has a good support system with her family and some of our colleagues, so although she'll be alone, she'll be okay.  We plan on getting together again in a couple of weeks, something I think will become a regular occurrence.

On my way home I stopped for 2 packages of cranberry/orange hot cross buns for ourselves, then DH and I went through Tim Horton's drive-thru, picked up some coffee and dropped in on another couple we haven't seen in a long time.  We enjoyed a visit there for a couple of hours and finally made our way home around 6:30.  By that time neither of us wanted a full meal, so we just made a small charcuterie board and enjoyed that at the table.

I've never had a Salty Dog, but do love grapefruit juice, so know I'd like the drink of the day.   A definite yes on the wine, but I've never made clam chowder, only enjoyed it in restaurants.  Tonight we're going to have the lemon shrimp pasta that didn't get made last night along with a tossed salad at the kitchen table.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, and even for those who don't think they do.  Cheers to all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Good morning all.  Prayers for all in need.

Going to see nephew and family today for the first time since the pandemic.  They are coming to our house to make things easier for DH Bill.  Getting the same takeout lasagna that we had Christmas Eve and was very good.  Easy peasy for me.

Well, unpacking isn’t as much fun as packing for a trip!  Hope to be done soon.

Best wishes for a great Sunday.  Katherine

Cold sunny morning in north New Jersey, climbing up from 16F. Still winter but no snow and probably won’t be going out.

I texted with my niece and offered to come down to the hospital, roughly an hour away, while she and her father (my brother) await the start of tests on her mom but I doubt we’ll be asked to come. Will wait for news.

Almost time for DH’s eye drops, keeping up the regime!  The pressure in the surgery-eye is still too low to register but that’s not a bad thing, as long as his vision is ok which it has been the last few days!  Very grateful!

@Nickelpenny glad you’re settling in and had a good sleep. You sure had a busy itinerary getting there!  Smooth travels, and thanks for posting!

@StLouisCruisers Sandi, sending extra blessings to you and all of those you carry in your big heart!

Blessings to all on our Care list, those in need of healing, comfort or hope, our country, your country and the world!
Joys to those celebrating and cruising, so many happy cruisers!

Here’s my tribute to the odd special day today!  From the Albuquerque balloon fiesta.

Don't drink milk, but cook with it - short notice to hop on a plane and no access to a dairy 🐄 cow,  but here's how to celebrate the day. If someone can do an extra milking for me, I'll read a book for you 🤭

20240218_085340.thumb.jpg.12956d1263e4d21bfa3b50d226eecd59.jpgI will enjoy a glass of wine today and need some batteries - our supply box is out of AA and low of AAA; try to never run out 9 volts since that's what the smoke alarms like.

Pass on the chowder, yes to the drink made w/vodka and the wine, not been to the port.

Important days in history.

@ger_77 I wish we had Tim Horton's here - haven't had any since Dec when our NS tour in Malaga Spain stopped at a place w/Tim Horton's. The Tour Operator gave us a heads-up about it and most on the bus asked what it was. I asked how they can get a TH in Spain but we can't get one in TX?!

Was very happy to see Baby Murphy's graduation picture - what a fighter she is!!

Currently 32° headed to 55° with a sunny week ahead. Yard guy asked yesterday if we are ready for him to come mow - not unless you're draining the backyard; he says he'll wait.

Weather app was showing 30° but as I clicked on to do a screenshot it stuck in upload. When I reopened it, it showed 32° so I guess the 30° was the temp when the app froze.

Prayers and positive thoughts for all. 🙏

Greetings from Miami.

Not much time to post.

We are sitting in the Centurion Lounge having a Mimosa and a bite to eat before our flight,

The lounge is at D12 and our gate is at D53.  The train service is out for a good long while.  We have wheelchairs ordered to pick us up in a little while.

Good to see Baby Murphy’s Graduation photo.  Prayers that she continues to improve.

Welcome home to all have completed their cruises in the last few days.

Prayers for everyone.

We expect the flight to be on time despite the rain.  We are looking at arriving home at approximately 5:00 to 5:30 this afternoon.  Making a grocery stop first so that we have stuff for breakfast.

Will post more later.

Happy Sunday and God Bless,

Terri

Good morning. Thanks for the FR/Daily.

This cow day is strange. I'm sure many of us will celebrate Drink Wine Day. Batteries are important and I have lots, but I prefer rechargeable devices if I can get them. Good quote. I'm not a big clam chowder fan, so I'll pass on the meal. Pass on the drink but yes to the wine. I haven't been to Marmaris. 4 good days in history.

It's cold here. The wind chill was near 0F this AM. It's up to 27F, but still very windy. At least there's some on and off sun. I slept about 4.5 hours. I will try to get laundry done today. And get the trash and recycling out. Jaromir Jagr's number is being retired today, so I'll watch that, and then the Penguins hockey game. I don't know if my furniture will get moved back in tomorrow or Tuesday, so I'll wait to hear.

@StLouisCruisers Lovely photos from Marmaris. I'm sorry to hear that your friend Bob is in the hospital.

@puppycanducruise Yikes on all that snow!

@grapau27 Thanks for the link and for the day explanation.

@kazu I hope you get a break in the weather soon.

@summer slope Safe trip home.

@ger_77 That's so young for your friend to have lost her DH; I'm sure she appreciates your spending time with her.

@Lady Hudson Enjoy seeing your nephew and family today!

@RMLincoln I'm glad to hear that DH's vision is remaining ok, despite the low eye pressure.

@Cruzin Terri Safe travels.

@cruising sister Thanks so much for the photo of Murphy. What great news that she's finally out of ICU! Prayers for her continued progress.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

Good morning,

It's a rather overcast gloomy start to the day in this area but no snow or rain so that's good. I'll go with the wine and will toast DD DH today. He'd love battery day. For Christmas 2022 I got him the "Battery Daddy" to hold all his batteries and he was in heaven. He came home at the end of December and one of the first things he wanted to do was fill that case. It turned out to be a great manual dexterity exercise for him and he did it twice as he spilled it. That box is heavy with all the batteries in it!

Today is the fun stuff - clean the bathroom, etc. I did get the income tax done and had to do a bit of research to see how to file since DH had passed away. I sent it all in snail mail as it was just easier for me. Now to do some research on "surviving spouse" as it seems I can file that way for a year or two. There's always something!

Have a nice Sunday!

Thank you for the daily report. Love the photos of Marmaris, looks fascinating. Still snowing here in Ontario south. Apparently my husband said yesterday it was warmer in Ketchikan than here. We are planning our cruise in May and wondering what to bring for clothing. Hope all are well , missing football, Baftavawards on today. Always a good show there and a Oppenheimer is supposed to be the big favourite . Hope Emily Blunt wins, love her

Kia Ora. It’s Monday morning and we will have early excursion in Picton, New Zealand. Beautiful day yesterday in Wellington and some scenic travels to some vineyards. Arrived back to ship around seven had dinner watched a magician and went to bed.

Dawn is just breaking and can see some beautiful mountainous terrain along the shoreline and we are chugging along close to shore. What a beautiful country.
Wish I had time to read through all post but this intensive itinerary has me needing to get ready for today’s excursion. Phone pics have not yet synched with IPad.

Have a great day. Bruce

The view off my balcony.

Good morning from a sunny 54°F North East England.

We had a lovely church service today on the first Sunday of Lent.

Thank you for today's daily and fleet locations.

Excellent quote and nice food today.

Prayers 🙏 for everyone on the care list.

I hope everyone is safe and well and y'all have a lovely day.

The cow experiment on a plane is no different than seeing if heights affects RNB drinking on a plane!

And I suppose after they finished milking, the cow exited the plane and jumped over the moon! 😀

That was one part of a good tour that I do not need to revisit.

When we did a similar tour years ago, we also stopped at a sheep farm and saw how the dogs worked the sheep. Then we all went into a large barn with bleachers where we saw sheep being sheared and a cow milking demonstration. There were about 100 people there. After the cow milking demo was over, the MC asked if anyone would like to milk the cow. A young lady volunteered, from Vietnam. It appeared she did not understand English. She proceeded to the milking area and while her back was turned, the MC brought out a bull. She thought she was suppose to milk the bull. Well, as she reached toward the bull, the MC stopped her. Needless to say it was quite funny.

I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise.  It's from my 2016 Crystal Symphony cruise from Buenos Aires to Miami.  February 18 was a sea day from Arica to Pisco:

Good afternoon, Dailyites, I started out typing morning, and then saw it was after noon...  I haven't posted for a few days, we have been busy, but I'm thinking of you all.  Pat had an episode of dizziness last week, and I rushed him in to the doctor, but there we decided it was inner ear and not his heart!  He explained he rolled over on the floor during exercise and when he sat up the room swam around him and he threw up.  What a to do!  One of our neighbours, a nurse, saw him home and he lay down for a while, but was still dizzy when he got up.  The doctor said it might be a good idea to see a PT to do the Epley maneuver. He is still a bit dizzy, so on Monday he'll find out about getting that done.  He also has had a nose bleed since yesterday, but the ENT specialist said that would probably happen as the scab fell off the cautery wound.  It's not like a real nosebleed, just dribbles of watery blood.  We hope that is all it is, and that it stops soon.  Life is an adventure...

Lots going on here on the Daily, I try to at least do a bit of reading every day, I guess I have to go back to yesterday to check on Baby Murphy, but it sounds good...  Pennie, that is funny, if they expected you to share your room with another couple!  (I would have swiped the drink cards right away!)  I know that Lisbon was the port of the day a few days ago, and there was a discussion of Fatima;  Our Lady of Fatima asked the children to have the Pope consecrate Russia to her, which Pope Francis did last March.  We should all be praying hard for Russia these days.
