I can’t help but think how when my cruise normally ended I would be sad to leave the ship - quite the turnaround for these passengers who can’t wait to get off 😓🥺

I am guessing that is was the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, thus the "FL".  Counties in Florida do not have mayors, they have county commissions.  Just incorporated cities and towns have mayors
