Looking at the Ft. Lauderdale webcam, you can see a lot of flashing lights/emergency vehicles around terminal 19. I have no idea what they are or what they are doing. Not going to speculate. I just find it interesting.

Just had communication with our friend who was on Zaandam & is now on Rotterdam. He says there has been no official notice to them that they are docking today.

FYI - There won't be any "official notice that they are docking today" until Broward County changes the approval from "conditional" to "go for it" so, at this point, no reason to give everyone onboard those two ships more false hope

Unless a meeting was publicly advertised two weeks prior and with an agenda item of

"Port Everglades disembarkation rules" or something similar,  no vote can be taken.

However, there can be a workshop, where information is imparted and questions and concerned addressed.

The Sunshine Law increases transparency for city and county governments and encourages public participation.  The Sunshine Laws also prevent any discussion of issues between commissioners;  all discussion on a subject is public/in the sunshine!

Surprisingly, they do not apply to State meetings or State legislators.

At that meeting on the 31st, I seem to remember they said they would take a vote on Thursday, and that it would have to be unanimous.  Would that count as "notice"?

Surprised the few super Critical Passengers have not already been removed from the ship. In fact I’m disappointed this was not done immediately!

Yes, why not let the Zaandam dock and get those two critical passengers off?

Do it NOW - STAT - ASAP.

I think you are looking at the transportation (buses) with their Broward County Sheriff escort vehicles with their roof light bars illuminated outside berth #19. Could be a positive sign

Not normally.  Perhaps this is an "extreme case" in which an exception can take place?

However, to my knowledge, there are no exceptions.

Just saw post below this one so going to review pages 42 and 43 that may address the exception.

Pages 42 and 43 address this; there is no need for a 2 week notice

I don't think the number is two <?> HAL may be working on getting the resources necessary to the pier to meet the number who need critical care.

Zaandam -  15:45 at pier 21

Rotterdam - 16:15 at pier 19

Very close to the estimated time that CBC gave this morning on the news.

They have apparently moved out of view of the cameras. I’ve watching for quite some time & they were there & then they weren’t.

Because they are no longer in the pic 😉 They are not stationarY; they are moving as we speak, currently both in a southerly direction in their holding pattern

You will need to click on the link in the top left hand corner of the Fort Lauderdale webcam to view the SE camera - but the ships actually are over the horizon at the moment.  They are moving around.  You could also go to the Marine Traffic site to see all the cruise ship "blips"!  Here:

Takes a while to get that many transport buses and police (sheriff) escorts together 😉 Still, it's a good sign that things might start happening this afternoon (local time)

The continuation of the Zaandam cruise from Buenos Aires to San Antonio, Chile was a cruise from San Antonio to Ft. Lauderdale, scheduled to arrive in FLL on April 7.

Where was the Zaandam before  Buenos Aires embarkation?
