So please refresh my memory.  If we have a no show on a cruise, who notifies the ship that they are not coming???  Thanks

You can tell them when checking in at pier.

Thoughts are always of my family and friends in Israel.  Rockets were launched directly at the Israeli city of Modi'in where Jack's family and some of Dani's family lives.  Although I lived in Israel for one year when we were first married, it was relatively "peaceful" with an occasional bomb going off.  How sad that it became so commonplace.    But this?  What's going on now has to be impossible to live with again and again.   Ceasefire? Who knows if it will last.

Made it.  All checked in. Nice corner room, canal view, 3rd floor.  Had a shower and a nap and now heading out for dinner before our 8pm covid test.

I'm not a fan of sea days. I know that puts me in a minority amongst many cruisers in CC in general but I cruise to see different places so sea days are not days I look forward to.

However for our sailing on second day, we got to stop at Hubbard Glacier. Per the naturaliston board, it's one of the few remaining  growing glaciers out there.

It's supposed to be 6 miles across and over 600 feet tall.

Here are some pics. No time to explain details until I get home.

  • @dani negreanu  Dani , I hope you were able to enjoy the party last night.

Are you still planning on Cyprus ?   I’ve just read that a cease fire has been called.  Hopefully , it will last.

Thanks, Judy. Seconds after I posted going to our dear friend b'day celebration, there was a massive rocket attack on Tel-Aviv.... I was already "made up", chosen clothes laid out, DH busily shaving, and our friends from Tel-Aviv called to say they're afraid... We also had to pass through Tel-Aviv to go south, so, after making a "conference" call with the others, it was decided to postpone by a week. I was worried about the whole preparations and waste of food, but our friend's wife assured us that she left most of the food for a last minute in the oven, so all is "good"...

Yes, still going, even though our eldest son was called to reserve duty on Friday. Now, with the cease fire apparently holding, we think he'll be home by Thursday at the latest.

@dani negreanu. Good morning Dani. I hope you are all safe and well this morning 🙏.

I heard there is a ceasefire 🙏.

Thanks, Graham. We're always wary when there is a cease fire, usually "they" continue to fire a few more rockets, and people were killed and maimed when they rushed "out"....

I'll take the opportunity to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all those who expressed concern and sent thoughts and prayers our way. It is moving and humbling. Hopefully, we'll not have to go through this "deja vu" again....

Marietta, does it mean your daughter has "second thoughts" about cruising with you?

If you don't want to go the "no show" way, there are still 2 inside connecting cabins available.... 😘

You need to find home grown tomatoes like these, red all the way through sweet n' juicy and hardly any seeds.

That looks so tasty. I'm in the mood for a BLT Sandwich.

Happy you made it. Good luck with the test and enjoy your dinner. Please tell us later about your meal.

I am still thinking of you Dani and your safety. Sounds like the right thing to do by postponing. Hang in there. Sounds like the cease fire is holding for now.

@Jimbo would love some of your homegrown tomatoes that you are offering free to neighbours.  This is the price today of the tomatoes at our supermarket.1A9612E9-2D1E-4ECE-BFAE-632D9A107BF3.thumb.jpeg.ff71b4bf0871015c4930c744db884c21.jpeg

Pricey? Yes.

But those are some fine looking tomatoes.  @Jimbo has some good looking tomatoes as well.

Sadly, it always seems like there needs to be at least 3 or 4 "ceasefires" announced before it really happens. Stay safe.

You truly are an amazing person and friend.  Despite all that is happening in your corner of the world, you are still checking on cabin availability for @DaniDanielle family.
