I'm sorry Sue.

The exact same thing happened to us several years ago when our page boy 41 years ago died in his late 30s leaving 6 children.

Graham.

Sorry to hear Graham, so sad. Especially for the children to lose their dad 😔

I hope your Son, Mark, is having a wonderful birthday!

Does the stove have a lock setting?  Some have a lock as a parental control feature but also helpful for pets too

I think I do remember seeing a lick icon on it.  I will have to look into when I am there this morning.  Thanks.

We stayed at the Venetian several years ago.  It was nice, once we finally got checked in.

Susan had found some great rates on flights and a room over the President’s day holiday.  Due to some bad weather, our flights got rerouted, and we didn’t get to the hotel until 1 am.  By that time, we are dead tired, and we are told…..You can go into the casino, and we will let you know when it is ready.

There was a large “Adult” entertainment convention going on, and there were a lot of them at the hotel and casino, so maybe that had something to do with the room delay.

Once a room was ready at 4 am, we did get upgraded to a much larger suite for our stay.  That, plus we did have some luck in the casino, so it made up for things.  We had hoped to escape from some of our cold winter, but it was cold there, and some of the fountains had ice.

Thinking about having some iPhone photos turned into wall art.  Has anybody done this?  I found Easy Canvas Prints online and it seems pretty straightforward.  We have three spaces over our range that I need art for…and rather than try to find three similar subjects, I thought I might use some of my sunset/sunrise/water photos.

Depending on the size of the prints you want, make sure you have high resolution photos so they will be clear when printed larger.  I don’t recall who we used, but I did have some 8x10’s done on canvas for art in one of our baths.

When you upload them, the site should tell you if the resolution is good enough for the size you want.

I think I really meant to say lock icon.   Don’t think I want to lick a stove. 🤣🤣🤣

Good evening.  Needed a bit of Christmas cheer, we headed into the city to a few Christmas markets.

First up, went to the French markets where we had  crepes & bought a six pack of macaroons.

Then onto the botanical gardens where we joined a long queue for some very nice muelled wine.

Finished up at the Cathedral Markets and had some delicious Berliner donuts.  Did the Noel Light Walk along the way.091BB832-51DA-4C3C-8787-D031A3A00F55.thumb.jpeg.91305d485b370d85916be1ed643adcde.jpeg

There's a lot of things we use to do regularly pre pandemic that we seem to be out of the habit, like going to the cinema. Use to go every 10days or so. Think we've been three times since March 2020

Thought we would do more long haul travelling once we retired but it hasn't happened. Furthest we've been is Europe, apart from a quick trip to Dubai last March.

We have taken some nice trips most of which are within a day's drive.   South Dakota in 2021, South Florida twice, Tennessee and North Carolina in 2022.  This spring we have South Florida, Orlando and Tennessee/North Carolina planned.

Hopefully you will get some more trips in this next year to the places you want to see.

We’ve survived the movers bringing our belongings!  It went so smoothly I was amazed.  Both the packers and movers were absolutely top notch.  If I knew how easy moving could be I’d have done it sooner!  Kudos to Allied and Coleman Worldwide.

Glad that the move went well for you!  That's definitely a stressful time.  Hopefully your cats had an easy trip also.  Now the fun part of unpacking and arranging everything.

I don't know about Easy Canvas Prints, but we ordered some 8X10s a few years ago from mpix.com.  They turned out great.  They were printed on standard photo paper but Mpix also does canvas, metal, framed, etc.  I chose Mpix because a lot of professional photographers supposedly use them and they get great reviews.  I agree with Mark though.  Be sure that any pictures that you want to print are high resolution and are very much in focus (i.e. "sharp").  Any slight blurriness that you can barely see on your phone's screen will be magnified when blown up to a larger size.

Beautiful ! I love projections on buildings. They have really improved the technology of it. I am amazed at the brightness and detail. This is so cool to see.

How does thirty years fly by so quickly????

LOL...my Mom has been saying the same sort of thing relative to her recent 100th birthday. "Where did all the years go?"  In the general scheme of things, e.g. the natural order and progression of the cosmos, geological time, etc., the span of a human life is so infinitesimally short. To quote the movie "Hearts in Altantis" (based on the Stephen King novel), "we're all just passing through..."  So then I paraphrase another line, this one from the movie, "Titanic"....''make it count".

And it is amazing how our perception of what “old” is, changes over the years.  Susan’s dad passed away 40 years ago, before either of our kids were born.  I know we both thought our parents were really old, and they were only in their 50’s at the time.

Now, old people is just someone older than me.

I suspect nobody does things quite the same way Disney does. Probably always at the cutting edge of what can be done with illumination, effects, etc.

That is correct no one better then the Disney Imagineers.

We are headed to Disney for 10 days on the 20th of January. 6 days in the parks and 4 days at my Wife's Aunt and Uncle's house in Bradenton, FL on the West Coast.

Marietta, we share this sad date too.... 13 years ago yesterday... my mom.

I wish there was a "sorry" button.  Hard to "like" the contents of some posts.  Dani and Marietta, such sad days hopefully bring blessings of happy memories.

For those with parents, treasure them.  Today would have been my parents' 82nd wedding anniversary.

When our daughter was approx. 8, we went to Vegas for Jack's trade show at the Vegas Hilton.  Our daughter opened our hotel room door.  We were all in for a surprise but not as surprised as the couple IN the room IN bed preoccupied, definitely NOT sleeping.  They both stopped and looked like they were going to have heart attacks. We stood there like statues and then Jack quickly shut the door and we fled down to the check in desk in the lobby.  We were compted for our entire stay.  Not sure what the couple in our room got. 😏

I count myself as really lucky that I had my parents almost "forever". Dad was 85, mom - 93. Both -- cardiac arrest. Painful, shocking, but swift.

I lost my Dad 22 years ago this past Sunday, he was only 67 and was sick the last 5 years of his life.  My Mom is 85 and has had a really tough year.  My parents always said, do what you can, while you can because you never know.  We try to remember that everyday.
