davekathy Posted October 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2020 My Magic 8 Ball says, "cannot predict now". I voted for January 2021 as we have a B2B Caribbean cruise starting 13 March 2021. 🤞
Rare ReneeFLL Posted October 10, 2020 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2020 (edited) I gave up guessing, since I thought things would have slowed down by now. Doesn't look like it will anytime in the near future. Hope I'm wrong. Edited October 10, 2020 by ReneeFLL
Billy Baltic Posted October 10, 2020 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2020 When cruising resumes isn’t really a big concerns for me. I’m more concerned about people reaching the Spring with their physical and mental health intact and their finances in some kinda decent shape. When I do cruise, I want it to be like it was before. No masks, no limit on social interaction, buffets open, etc. Unfortunately I think that will be late 2022 or 2023.
ATC cruiser Posted October 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2020 Maybe in December for 1 or 2 cruises. Probably more than a year before anything close to a normal schedule, even then we will still have restrictions.
Dennis#1 Posted October 10, 2020 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2020 They will probably change the rules again to require a COVID-19 vaccine before regular cruising restarts.
danv3 Posted October 10, 2020 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2020 Not soon. March at the earliest IMO.

Rare Tapi Posted October 10, 2020 #11 Share Posted October 10, 2020 The optimist in me still thinks we’ll see a very limited return in December. Like one ship.

Tall-Cruiser Posted October 10, 2020 #13 Share Posted October 10, 2020 The optimist in me would go with December. Starting with limited short cruises and reduced capacity. May be even cruises to nowhere.
loman Posted October 10, 2020 #14 Share Posted October 10, 2020 My guess is Q2 next year . But i wont book anything until 2022 , and only if all restrictions are lifted . I can wait.
Bucket29 Posted October 10, 2020 #15 Share Posted October 10, 2020 I voted March 2021- I think there will be restrictions but no so severe that it will still feel like a vacation ... I'm hoping
Rare livingonthebeach Posted October 10, 2020 #16 Share Posted October 10, 2020 I think there will be test runs / shakedown cruises out of PortMiami or P.C. with crew only possibly in November or December. As for passengers, think early 2021. PortMiami has on its schedule Navigator of the Seas arriving at 5am and departing at 5pm on Nov 2nd and every week throughout November and December. There hasn't been a cruise ship at PortMiami in quite some time so the fact that Navigator is on its schedule is a promising sign.
Sunshine3601 Posted October 10, 2020 #17 Share Posted October 10, 2020 I voted dec with limited short sailings on navigator and mariner is my guess. Then if all goes well and there is demand for it by end january they may add some other ships. I know my 12 night dec will be cancelled and quite honestly I'm not excited about my 7 night rhapsody sailing in january. If they dont cancel it I will. But I sure hope we can sail on the 7 night end of march for DH birthday cruise that got cancelled last march.

That's good to know. Haven't been to that part of town in a while. On another thread someone mentioned there was a waiter that received a notice to report to work on Navigator in late October -- another good sign.

Retired LEO Posted October 10, 2020 #23 Share Posted October 10, 2020 With the crew starting to be called back they could run the month of November on the Navigator with crew only. If all goes well and protocols adhered to December is a possibility for reduced passengers. In the mean time call enough staff back for the Mariner. They could run December with crew only. Again if all goes well run with passengers in January with reduced capacity. And so on down the line. Basically bring in one ship per month. They have mentioned in the past that is could take a couple of years to get fully operational. This is all new for the crew and there will be a lot of training involved.
Mapleleafforever Posted October 10, 2020 #24 Share Posted October 10, 2020 Summer 2021. I was one of those people who thought it was all blown out of proportion and would be over by end of this past summer. Boy was I wrong.
