Rare rafinmd Posted April 27, 2021 #30 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Maroe Bay Huahine is basically a small ship port (Appears to be weekly on Paul Gaugin and Windstar) but Zuiderdam is booked there for March 19. Roy 13
cunnorl Posted April 27, 2021 #31 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Good Morning from a warm and breezy day at the beach. I have not been on the last few days because of my company and all the excitement. My birthday actually went on for 5 days. They had planned something for every day ending with a surprise golf tournament on Sunday. They paired me up with my son, nephew and a close friend. I had to tee off first and all 40 people were lined up and started clapping! It was amazing. If I knew turning 70 was so much fun, would have done it sooner! LOL. I have not been to todays port but I believe it is on the list for my booked 2022 trip. I will have to look. No prime rib for me today. We will be having leftover party food. Stay safe and enjoy today.

Rare Crazy For Cats Posted April 27, 2021 #33 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Good Morning Everyone, today is catch up on 150+ work emails that came in while I was in PA. At least I won’t be bored. Listening to xm 54’s tribute to studio 54 is helping make the morning a bit more enjoyable. The washer was an easy fix, somehow the hose came out of the drain. That was very odd. Waiting on news from the mechanic on the car. Hope everyone has a great day!
durangoscots Posted April 27, 2021 #34 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Morning all. We are actually having some light rain today. Much needed and appreciated. The grass is already looking much happier. Little going on here. I am trying to get both my balconies cleared so that the new patio doors can be installed next Monday (am assuming they will be here on time). Need to get the blinds down too. Continuing to sort and toss (very slowly) and thinking of ships and far lands. Susan (and the Bandit dog)
Overhead Fred Posted April 27, 2021 #35 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Today in 2017 we were in Victoria, Canada on the Eurodam. I wanted to get to Butchart Gardens, but I wasn't sure there was enough time to do it justice. We were also starting to have a bit of "excursion fatigue" after almost 20 days of cruising. So we just walked around the town. The public and private gardens were amazing and the government buildings were stunning. I think Victoria is now our favorite port. We both wanted to track down a realtor and start shopping for houses! 24
Cruising-along Posted April 27, 2021 #36 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Good morning all! You had me at prime rib and chicken pot pie. I love both. Marie Callendar makes a good pot pie when home made isn't available, but I prefer my own with home made pie crust. I don't put in potatoes (telling myself I'm cutting carbs, lol, but actually I prefer it without potatoes anyway. I use left over gravy and chicken or turkey -- yum. One of my rarely eaten guilty pleasures. 😄 Not sure about that quote, and I don't think the port is on the itinerary of our 45-day South Pacific cruise next year -- The next few days will be busy getting ready for our 2-week road trip -- it looks like the weather will be dry everywhere (hopefully) but temperatures ranging from the low 50's to the 80's. So packing for all eventualities!
Quartzsite Cruiser Posted April 27, 2021 #37 Share Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) Good morning. I would have loved to see the full moon, but our clouds have returned. We should get rain off and on the rest of the week, so I did a quick grocery run early this morning. Wishing all our Dutch friends, especially @sailingdutchy, a Happy Kings Day. Morse code was a game changer back in the day, and I like prime rib, medium rare. Babe Ruth was a great baseball player, and an interesting person. After watching Ken Burns' series on baseball, we realized Babe Ruth's private life was often "messy". No sure about the quote. O Henry was a character. We like chicken pot pie, but I haven't made it since it's too much for us to eat in one meal. Like @summer slope, we like Marie Calendar's chicken pot pies. I usually drink pinot noir, but today's wine is a little pricey for us. @mamaofami Glad your grandson found a job in LA. @cunnorl Your birthday celebration sounds wonderful. We have been to Huahine-Iti twice. The first time was in 1996 on Wind Song, and the second time was in 2004 on Tahitian Princess. It is a small island of about 6075 people (in 2017) and is not visited by many ships. On our first visit, we took a tour of the island, and the second time we took a shuttle into the main village, walked around and stopped for a beer. All the pictures are from our second visit. The pictures give you an idea why it's called the Garden Island. Lenda Edited April 27, 2021 by Quartzsite Cruiser 31
Seasick Sailor Posted April 27, 2021 #38 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Hey Rich! Hope you are doing well up Georgia way. Thank you for a delightful Daily! Hi sweet sisters and my prayer buddy Roy. Denise that fish you had last night looked so delicious. We had several couples we met at Westin that caught a gorgeous tuna and they made a huge platter of sushi and also grilled some tuna on the BBQ. Mmmm good! I enjoy prime rib, especially at Wildfire on a Monday night. And I confess, I am one who likes it very rare with lots of horseradish! Yesterday was fun. We had couples pedicures, lunch at Italian restaurant. We were the only 4 on the patio. Social Committee meeting and visitors over til late. Today is window washer touch up, I believe our Mason is coming to finish up, then Allen and I will have a quiet evening on our patio. Hopefully. Peace, Prayers and Cheers 18

StLouisCruisers Posted April 27, 2021 #42 Share Posted April 27, 2021 @sailingdutchythank you for your King's Day photos on Prinsendam. We were there with you on her in 2019. I don't have that much orange to wear either, but I have a nice everyday dress that has orange in the pattern so I usually wear that. We were also on the Prinsendam on King's Day the year before in 2018 while on the Grand Africa and Mediterranean cruise. For some reason I don't have any King's Day photos from the 2019 cruise like you posted, but I did take a few in 2018 I can post of the dining room decorations before the dinner hours. The monkeys in their wooden shoes, orange wigs and sunglasses. Then at dinner that night a cake was brought out. I wonder if it was a fake cake? One time we said oh do we get a slice of that tonight for dessert and they said no it's fake. Just a decorated box. Hmmm! King's Day 2018 was celebrated in the port of Horta, Azores. Here's the Elegant Explorer at the dock. 😢
highland cruiser Posted April 27, 2021 #43 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Good morning. Thanks for all the updates. Cloudy here this morning. We had a view of a huge moon last night..but by the time it came over the homes it is was more white than pink. Still beautiful and bright. We enjoy prime rib but I would much rather have it on a ship!! My DH does like to cook one though. Haven't been to today's port. I am also wondering about what the plans are for the Westerdam. Have a great day everyone. Headed out for my walk and then usual housework on Tuesday. Prayers to those on the prayer list and cheers to everyone else.

JazzyV Posted April 27, 2021 #48 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily. For some reason the site wouldn't load on my PC earlier. A good collection of days, although I am not a prime rib fan (I prefer a filet mignon or ribeye). Rolling my eyes over the quote. I like the meal (and Roy's) and drinks. I have not been to today's port, so I will look at others' pictures. It's sunny and almost 80°F here today. Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list. Everyone stay safe!

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted April 27, 2021 #50 Share Posted April 27, 2021 Finally got my morning chores finished, and all the meat in the freezer. I've enjoyed the pictures of King's Day on the Prinsendam. I have a light orange blouse and DG has a bright orange golf shirt, so I guess we'd have enough orange on if we're ever on a BHB on Kings Day. As I mentioned, we could not see the moon last night due to heavy clouds. This time last year, we were still in Quartzsite and this is what the full moon looked like on May 9, 2020.
