Good Morning Everyone from a warm and sunny day at the beach.

It is 70 already and warming during the day. Our long range is good.

Thank You all for your well wishes yesterday. Our family is very happy to finally receive some good news. My sister will still have to monitored closely but we are all optimistic!

Todays meal suggestion looks interesting. May have to give it a try.

Have not been to todays port.  Looking forward to pictures.

Off to water aerobics.

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning!  Sunny heading into Bonaire.

@rafinmd Bon voyage! 🏖️🌴🍹

We are staying onboard today. We may be able to enjoy our Cabana today.   We stuck it out for an hour and a half but the winds were so strong and showers due we went inside.

With that time I looked closer at the Volendam and we went ahead and booked the Grand South America RT Fort Lauderdale.  John hasn't been through the Panama Canal and neither of us in the Southern Hemisphere.  There were only 2 portside veranda cabins on deck 6 remaining so we made the decision quicker than we normally would.

We had a lovely dinner in the PG I had a great view of the almost full moon and rough seas.  If wind cooperates we will enjoy our first room service dinner on our balcony.  We leave port at 7:30.

Prayers for all on Roy's care list and good health to all. 🙏

Good morning  to all. There are a lot of grouchy people in the greater  NY metro area and I often try to just be nice. Ha ha.It does not work often.Fortunately. there are no grouchy  people within our household.DSIL  is so darn nice we can't  believe  it.

I am going to make the recipe today in the slow cooker. Thanks,Debbie @dfish,once again you saved the day.I just need something for my vegetarians.

@kazu,Jacqui. I am sorry about Jose's lab values. It is worrying  when things go awry .

I am sorry to hear about more covid cases within the Daily family.I hope to hear all are well soon.

Good Morning Dailyites!  DH says that Charity begins at home, so I can be nice to him since he is so grumpy.  LOL.

@rafinmd Have a great cruise!  When I pulled up the Hollywood Bowl schedule, I saw that they will be performing Saint-Saens Symphony # 3 on August 4th.

Somethings in life just really make me laugh, it's the way my brain turns things around- Like why do they use a big truck to deliver AAA batteries?  (the company triple A delivers car batteries, but the sign on the truck says "we deliver AAA batteries")

so-

@dfish When one of your recipes said to cut the heat and spiciness, cut the peppers in half, I'm thinking cutting them in half actually makes them spicier.  Then realized that it meant to cut the number of peppers used in half....I just let my misunderstanding continue to amuse me.

Have a great day !

Good morning friends!  It was about 40F this morning so we decided to walk outside.  It's a good walk if you're bundled up enough.  Lots of new scenery in a different neighborhood.  One house still had Christmas lights on their street tree which is forbidden after Jan. 5 but I guess the Christmas light police are slacking on their job.😁

Thanks Rich for our Daily.  A nice selection of days to celebrate.  I know a few grouches personally so they will be happy to have someone do them a favor.  The quote is a good one, and the menu suggestion of the day is very tasty looking.  Our port of the day Salalah, Oman is an unusual one.  Most of the ships I've seen stop in Muscat.  We've had a run on new ports the past 6 days or so, which is great.  Thanks in advance for any photos of Salalah provided.

Prayers today for all on the Care list.  Thank you Roy for providing it.  While you are on your cruise, will you be posting or has someone else got it covered?  We hope you can check in while cruising, at any rate.  Graham @grapau27thanks for the photos today and also for the report on Josh.  It's so good to hear the antibiotics are doing the job!   Jacqui @kazuit's too bad to hear about Jose's lab test results.  I hope they can get them regulated soon.  Enjoy your visit anyway.  Sorry to hear about more nasty weather heading towards you all.

And @ottahand7welcome to the Volendam's Grand South America & Antarctica cruise!  Have you been to the seventh continent before?  It's stupendous!  See you on the ship!🚢

Good Morning All,

We have a very cold morning after a lovely thunder and lightning show early last evening. We even had hail. Everything is still wet.😁

Love tinga. I just might make it tonight. I met it for the first time when one of our building janitorial staff was cooking it in the employee lunch room. I added the wine to my shopping list. Our Total Wine has a few in stock, so I’m hoping no Dailyites live nearby. (Oh, wait. @XBGuy does. )

Hoping today will be the day that we get booked for our island installation. We shall see.

Totally agree with @ger_77 on the skating matter. It’s so unfair. I did subscribe to the streaming channel and am “pigging out” on figure skating. They are even broadcasting the practice ice. I haven’t been to a FreeStyle session in years, but saw some pretty impressive “shows” by the BIG NAMES at our local rinks when our group of adults practiced. I’m now spoiled, having had the best “seat” in the house many times!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, all! An interesting group of days. The meal sounds good. I’m doing the cooking while we’re staying with DS to give her a break, and that will make a good addition to the menu. The drink and wine sound worth trying, and looking forward to pictures of another port we haven’t been to.

The sunrise in La Quinta this morning was gorgeous. DH got the car fixed yesterday. The air conditioning and undercarriage are good as new. Now we can head out on the town!

@kazu I’m so sorry to hear Jose’s BP and blood work is not good. Hopefully it’s something easy to correct. You don’t need this. Or another storm. WTH???

@ger_77 we all learn sooner or later not to let the non-wine person go buy the wine. Except then we still do it anyway.🤔

And yes, the worst performance of the entire Winter Olympics was that of the skating officials.
Prayers to all who need them today, and kudos to those on the celebration list!

Happy Wednesday, everyone. As lovely as the sunrise was, it would have looked better from the deck of a BHB!

Not a lot on the agenda today, just staying home and maybe watching some Olympic action on the television.  I won't get into the nitty gritty here, but I think it highly unfair that one particular skater was allowed to continue to compete.  That's all I'm saying.

Agree totaly. Between the antics of the organizing committee and the host country, I haven't been interested in watching any of it..

I wear my fleece jacket and go without a hat when it us 40 here.I had my big jacket on earlier for the dog walk and I had to open it after a while,34 so  far today.  After the ice and cold it feels like a  heat wave!

I love figure skating too, but am ice cold over that situation.  It’s so sad.

@marshhawk, your sense of humor/observation crack me up.  It seems you look at life in much the same way as my sister.

@kazu, wishing better health for you loved ones.  Wishing you warm weather and some good dirt! 🤗

Time to get going - Mykonos gets to visit his friend the vet this morning.  Just a check up.

Most of the Christmas lights in Skykomish are still up and look great reflecting off of the snow. It would be dangerous to attempt to take them down so soon.

Good morning everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Jacqui @kazu — I hope Jose’s condition improves so he can have the treatment.

Graham @grapau27 — so good to hear that the young boy is doing better. Also enjoy your vacation. I love your pictures.

Congrats to those sharing good news especially @irishjim & @cunnorl.

I made chicken tinga once and it was good but I’ll pass today. I have some ground beef that I need to use up. Thank you for the recipes Debbie @dfish.

The change in the weather has started. It’s gray, cloudy and dreary outside. Supposedly the rain is starting at 11:00 am but we’ll see.

Have a great day everyone!

When I saw today's meal suggestion my brain saw chicken tikka

So imagine my surprise when I saw @dfish's pictures of stuff in tacos!

The chicken tinga looked and sounded good, and since I have never tried it, I downloaded all three recipes. We just had carnitas tacos/burritos for Super Bowl, so it might be a few weeks before I get around to it. 🌮

Good morning and thanks all!

@dfish that chicken looks great, thanks!
@ger_77 and @TiogaCruiserAgree about the figure skating, it doesn’t make sense.   We were fortunate to see the Olympic gold pairs many years ago, something I won’t forget.
@irishjim so happy about your news!
@kazu hope Jose has better results today so they can do what is needed.

I was wondering about that too, some are still up and look nice! And our weather makes it dangerous as well.

Well we’ve had a beautiful dump of snow, at least it looks that way until we have to go out,

I woke at 5:30 and started reading, then drifted off until my son woke me with reports on the house he is remodeling. He discovered that one section between the studs is almost charcoal due to a fire maybe 80 years ago. But no one knew how bad it was all these years until he started tearing out the wall. It was a true case of "if these walls could talk". After Graham's food porn I had to have breakfast before I posted.  Now its sunny and 35 degrees.  Hope everyone has good news today. Prayers and cheers for the Dailyite family.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

No grouches around today. Kyoto Protocol day is important. A salute to Innovation.

Good quote.

I like the meal (over salad) and printed them out; lots of boneless, skinless thighs in the freezer. Pass on the drink, but I'll take the wine.

I've never been to Oman.

Wow, we're already up to 53F! But then rain is coming, and there is worry about flooding due to the ice jams on the river. BFF did come bearing flowers yesterday. We weren't pleased with the restaurant yesterday, although the food was good, so I was promised a make-up dinner. I have leftovers for tonight's meal (beef & broccoli). Since I have no appointments for the next few days, I think I may go get my 2nd shingles vaccine; I can stay in if I feel poorly for a couple of days.

@grapau27 Thanks for the pictures of Mijas Pueblo and of you and Pauline. Good news on Josh doing better with the antibiotics!

@superoma Sorry you have to isolate and the family gathering is cancelled! Hopefully the DGD's BF is ok.

@ger_77 Nothing so sad as bad wine. Maybe use it in stews, although they say you shouldn't cook with wine you wouldn't drink.

@Cruzin Terri Thinking of you today with your medical appointments.

@rafinmd Bon Voyage tomorrow!

@kazu Prayers for Jose that his BP goes up and they'll give him potassium supplements to fix his low level. I hope the weather isn't too terrible for you; Spring is coming.

@aliaschief Sorry to hear of the grandchild's illness, and hopefully they're fine soon.

@StLouisCruisers A couple of houses on my block and around the corner still have their Christmas lights on; I thought maybe they'd come down for Candlemas, but they didn't.

@cruzn single I hope you're feeling ok today.

Prayers for the Care List and a toast to the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.
