Good morning from San Diego 🙂

Thanks. Nice. Shelter Island boat basin across from HalfMoon Inn in Point Loma. But the Sun is not up yet for another hour. Daylight Savings really throws off surf time and bums me out.

Good morning.  Thanks for the daily report.  Three nice days to celebrate today, I played the saxophone many moons ago.  I’m guessing today’s quote was meant to be more of a humorous statement.  Think I’ll pass on both the meal and drink suggestions.  We’re having leftover chicken pot pie, the Pioneer Woman’s recipe.  I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our list today.  Cheers to those of you who are celebrating happy events.🍾

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports.   I love saxophone music, usually hearing it in BBKings and it is great that girls learning to code have their day.  A weird quote.   I look forward to photos of Komodo Island.

I will pass on today's meal, the banana cocktail though today's vino looks wonderful.  Thanks @dfish @summer slope and @cat shepard for locating these for us each day to start our days thinking of food and drink.

@StLouisCruisers Sandi I am sorry to read of your DF's DBs passing.   He has been sick for a very long time but still it is always heartbreaking for family and friends.   @Quartzsite Cruiser congratulations on your new motor home.   Prayers for @mamaofami and @HAL Sailer prayers for healing for your DH and prayers for you as caregivers.  @JazzyV Prayers you are getting some relief from your leg pain.   Prayers for everyone in war zones for no fault of their own in Israel, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza.

We are heading out soon to John's semi annual dental visit and I am going to try to get an appointment with them for my tooth extraction.   It is beginning to throb a little, especially at night.  They advertise same day service for emergencies so hopefully I can get in sometime this week. We are celebrating the Ravens domination of the Seahawks and the Vikings improbable win over the Falcons with a brand new second hand quarterback.   Have a nice Monday!   Nancy

Thanks for your comments regarding Mark.  You are right, even if a long time coming it's still a shock to the family when their loved one passes away.  I hope Susan can get away a couple of days to attend any services for him.

I hope you can get some help with that tooth.  Sounds like an emergency to me.

Let's balance out the sadness with some joy.  My niece sent me some more photos of her DGD Elliott Rose.  I'll only share one to spare you all!  LOL

We both received our 100 day bronze medallions from HAL this morning.  😀

We also earned 4 star today, but it officially will not start until our next cruise in March.

It's very hot/humid on the back of the ship with no wind.

I am going to the Casino in a few minutes while Suzi shops at the stores.

I hope everyone is having a good day. Will check in later.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Our family has never been big basketball watchers - maybe if one of them decided to play, it would have changed things.  Honestly, I'd love to learn to code - imagine what it would do to my brain at this age!  There's always something new to learn, so maybe coding isn't it for me right now.  A friend of ours retired a year ago and decided to take up the saxaphone, which is a lovely instrument, but his wife has learned the value of industrial earplugs.   Re: Komodo Island - I've already told DH that if we ever get to that part of the world to not expect me to leave the ship - I abhor reptiles, and don't want to even get close to one like that.  As it as, when we were in Bangkok on a little boat tour (we could trail our hands into the water, that's how small the boat was), I saw a huge monitor lizard (I initially thought it was a dog on a dock) that looked our way, and slipped into the water.  I was sure that it was coming for me, and nearly freaked out.

We had freezing rain again last night - its' a good thing DH decided to put his vehicle in the garage, otherwise he'd be chipping off ice when we want to go out later this morning.  We were advised there was a "weather system" moving through the province, but weren't sure what it would actually bring - as long as it wasn't a major wet snow, we would have been quite happy.  Being retired, we can wait until the roads have been travelled and not worry about slipping and sliding on the way to work.

Yesterday was nice - our Ukrainian friends came over for dinner, and brought with them a wonderful dessert.  It was two bread-like rolled cakes; one had apples and cinnamon inside and the other had blueberry jam.  It put my store-bought peach pies to shame, let me tell you!  They'd never had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner before, so enjoyed all the dishes - Anton loved the stuffing, so I sent a container of it home with them.  After they left, I said to DH:  "6 hours of prep, 2 hours at the table, 1 1/2 hours of clean up, but that's what you do for family and close friends."   After we cleaned up, I poured myself a glass of wine and went to bed, not waking up until 2 hours past my normal time - I was tired!

@StLouisCruisersI'm so sorry to hear that Mark lost his battle with cancer.  Stupid, stupid, stupid cancer is all I can say.

@Quartzsite CruiserI'm delighted that you decided to get a new motorhome - I went online to see what it looks like . . . it's a beauty!!

@rafinmd safe driving today!

Not a lot happening for us today, just putting away all the tools and appliances I used for yesterday's meal and doing a bit of clean-up.  I like peanut butter and bananas together, but not sure how the drink would go - perhaps if someone made it for me, but I won't be buying the ingredients to make one.  I'd like the wine, and would order the menu suggestion in a restaurant.  For us it's leftovers - turkey, gravy, you get the picture - that will be enjoyed at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, especially those in war torn countries.  Cheers for all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Good Morning from a getting warmer and sunny day at the beach

Wind not as bad but the ocean is still very choppy. Rip currents are a big problem.

Meal suggestion sounds good. Thanks Debbie @dfish

We were scheduled to go to Komodo Island on the Noordam in 2022 but their government would not let the ship in. I guess their rules have changed again and are now allowing ships. Will have to try again.

@StLouisCruisers  Adorable picture of Elliott Rose. She looks very happy.

@rafinmd   Safe travels today. Hope you have a wonderful cruise.  Glad you are feeling well enough to travel again

@grapau27   Happy to hear you had a good appointment with the cardiologist

I used Luggage Forward for the 1st time on our last trip. Loved it. Will continue to use them.  By the time you add up airline fees and we need a bigger taxi/uber the price is not too bad.

Good Morning to All and thanks for the daily and fleet reports.  Never been a fan of basketball; it never made sense to me.  Watch the last 2 minutes of the game and that is all you really need to see IMHO!  I thought of Morse Code when I read it but I would totally enjoy learning code.  I did redesign a online forum webpage so I taught myself CSS.  It was fun.  Oh, how I wish I could play an instrument and envy those who can.

image.jpeg.183c422206c313ae90a07579b91367a5.jpeg

Funny quote.  No way would I drink the cocktail - yuck! - but the meal and wine sound good.  I want to go to Komodo Island and had one booked until I figured out I was sailing into FLL and had 2 weeks to get down to Sydney.  Oops!  Most Mexicans celebrate Mexican independence on Sept 16th but it was a long time for Mexico to fight for its independence.

image.thumb.jpeg.59388b1270401393cdb9039ee5322ec3.jpeg

Had a massage yesterday and had her work on my legs and lower back.  I get the MRI today and the ortho doc appt is next week.  I hope to get a game plan done.  May try acupuncture which I have done before but I have a feeling they will recommend PT and/or injections.  Not sure I like that plan. All my aches and pains are ortho related - feet, knees, back, neck, shoulders.  I need to get a new skeleton!!

image.thumb.jpeg.2c1b06137930df42eea4e5747b8da705.jpeg

Thoughts for the world and those on the care list.  Cheers to those celebrating!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning from a mostly sunny central Texas where it is 67F and feels like 67F,   There is a 12mph breeze with 90% humidity and a dew point of 64F.  Our high is predicted to reach 80F this afternoon.  It will be a busy day with laundry, getting the motorhome inspected and registered so we can legally drive it to the dealership next Monday to trade it in.  We'll also be doing some more sorting and unloading the motorhome this afternoon.  The "highlight" of my day will be the getting my top teeth deep cleaned.  At least I know what to expect this time.

We are not basketball fan, but I used to like basketball when I was in high school.  I like the idea of Ladies learning code to encourage them to get into the tech field.  Our older DD is an electrical engineer who designs chips for ARM.  She also played the saxophone in her high school's jazz band.  Her main instrument is the clarinet, and she also plays the oboe.  Not to leave her out, our younger DD played the French horn.

While the Dave Barry quote is humorous, it may be true in some cases.

Today, we'll pass on the meal, drink and wine.  I think dinner will be some form of chicken.

We have not been to Komodo Island.  It was on the two Princess world cruises out of Sydney that we canceled.  I would still like to get there.

Today marks the first of several independence days for Mexico.

@rafinmd  Safe travels, Roy.

@grapau27  Graham, I'm glad all was fine at your appointment today.

@aliaschief  Enjoy your last day on board, and safe travels tomorrow.

@dfish  Debbie, I'm glad you and Sue can give River some happy, carefree times.  No child should be in the position to dread going home.

@ottahand7  Nancy, I hope you can get an appointment to get the teeth pulled soon.

@StLouisCruisers  Sandi, Elliott Rose is certainly a cute, happy little girl.

@ger_77  Gerry, I'm glad yesterday's dinner was a big success.

All good days - I don't play the saxophone but think the musical world is better for it. Girls Who Code is worthy of donations if you're so inclined.

Passion the meal, no idea about the drink, would try the wine, not been to the port.

This day in history was indeed important for Mexico.

Prayers and positive thoughts for all.

Good morning Daily-ites

I have an unexpected busy day and will finish reading later. I'm sorry Sandi to hear of your friends brothers death. May he rest now peacefully.  Sweet picture of Elliott Rose.

Going to miss this experience on Seabourn. The little attention to detail. The sunscreen provided by pool, the eyeglasses cleaning cloths. The mango sorbet with Prosecco that was just offered to everyone pool side. The crew is focused and works together at multiple venues and they have bought into ensuring the guest are spoiled and happy.

We would love do this again someday.

A wonderful 10 days in the Mediterranean onboard Oceania’s Nautica.  Loved Croatia (my Dad’s parents immigrated from Croatia to US around 1900), cats in Kotor, Montenegro, monastery & vineyards in Greece. We missed Civitavecchia (Rome) port due to rough seas. Delicious food, top entertainment (Julie Jones, cruise director=❤️). We will have a week in Barcelona til we join the Marina (11/13-12/3) for a b2b, Barcelona-Lisbon, Lisbon-Miami. Life onboard=😍

Good morning all!

I think I'll pass on everything today except the saxophone.  We will be at Komodo Island on the GA, we have a private tour to see the dragons -- I'm looking forward to it!

Another rainy day but not too cold -- low 50's F.  A good day to get caught up on the laundry and finish writing those Christmas cards.  I've gotten gift lists from almost everyone in the family now, need to get started on that too.  We'll be celebrating Christmas a week early this year and leaving for the GA 2 weeks after that, so lots to do early. Thankfully our DS and DDIL are hosting Thanksgiving, so I don't even have to think much about that.  They both love to cook -- how lucky am I??  🤣

Sandi @StLouisCruisers I'm so sorry to hear that Mark lost his battle with cancer.  My sincere condolences.  Thank you for the darling photo of Elliott Rose!  She's adorable -- and her little outfit looks just like one that our DD had at that age!  Love the ruffles.

Roy @rafinmd Safe travels today!  I look forward to "following along"!

Debbie @dfish It hurt my heart too to hear what River said as you approached her house.  She's lucky to have you and Sue.

Welcome to the Daily @SanDiegian!  We lived in San Diego for 7 years during some of DH's Navy years -- always loved living there.  We hope to "see" you here often.

Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser Congratulations on the new motor home, exciting!

For lunch today, I had a salad (without lettuce) and beef n macaroni which was very good. Suzi and my sister both had the pulled beef and was told it was excellent.  I am not sure what the event was, but they had several different type of 7 layer cakes 😜  for desert. We had the 7 layer fudge and chocolate, it was absolutely sinful!

I bought a couple of 150 Anni pins for half price in the gift store.  They will look nice on the medallion ribbon.

Still scorching humidity and heat today. I am from South Carolina where it can get very hot n humid and this weather is kicking my ...

I have an unexpected busy day and will finish reading later. I'm sorry Sandi to hear of your friends brothers death. May he rest now peacefully.  Sweet picture of Elliott Rose.

Graham great to hear your check up went well. Prayers to all on Vanessa's well kept cares list.

On our way for our yearly eye check ups.

Have a great day.

Thank you friends for your concerns and good wishes for my CHD check up today where I got good results from my recent blood tests.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I'm not into basketball. I will salute ladies learning code and saxophones. Funny Barry quote. Maybe on the meal, but lots of carbs. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to  Pulau Komodo Island. An important day for Mexico.

It's lovely here right now, 65 and sunny. But windy. I'd thought of blowing the leaves, but I'm in too much discomfort. I got about 4 hours of sleep. The pain usually eases an hour or so after I'm up, but not today. I went ahead to PT, fearing I couldn't do anything with the severe pain. I mainly used hot packs, then did some stretching exercises. I don't know what I can do to feel better, sigh. Just got a message that "my provider" wants me to talk to a social worker; I don't know what that's all about.

@seagarsmoker Sorry about the subpar dinner and lack of activities. Lovely sunrise photos. Congrats on the 100 day medallions and attaining 4-star!

@grapau27 Good news that your appointment went well.

@rafinmd Safe travels.

@smitty34877 Continued prayers for you and Tana.

@ottahand7 I hope you can get that tooth taken care of soon. I caught the end of the Vikings game and was surprised to see Joshua Dobbs, who had been with the Steelers. I liked him and was sorry to see him go. He's very bright, with an aerospace engineering degree.

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for showing us cute Elliott Rose! We needed that.

@dfish River's comments are so sad; thank goodness she has you two.

@ger_77 The dinner sounded wonderful; you have showed such kindness to your new Ukrainian friends.

@Nickelpenny I do hope you can get to the bottom of the issue and get a game plan.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Enjoy the new motor home. Can you share a picture once you've got it?

@Norseh2o You're living the life! Enjoy.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

Well I had good luck at the new oral surgeon, they accept my insurance and I am scheduled for Wednesday morning for my molar to be filled.    I could have gotten in tomorrow but we have a wine dinner with the Taster's Guild and I thought imbibing might not go well after if they give me laughing gas.

@rafinmd Safe travels Roy!

@StLouisCruisers thanks for the latest charming photo of little Elliot Rose.

@grapau27 Happy to hear your good report from your cardiac physician.
