Thanks girls, I do appreciate all your good thoughts and kind words.  I am drinking water. I have a bottle that is 24

ounces..…..I am drinking it.  All I know is they were not swollen on Sunday (I was released from the hospital on Sat).

Will be seeing my Dr in the morning.

Hi Lois, I'm sure you'll get good info on hydration from your Dr.     I helped to care for my dad with kidney disease caused by chemo for many years...  & learned that it's a very delicate balance between enough water to function well & not so much that you overwork the kidneys or even get dehydrated because you flush out all electrolytes...  so I'm going to say the your Dr. will probably be pretty specific about the dos & don'ts :)  Best wishes for your continued healing & learning.  :)

Good morning -- it's Friday!!  (Oh wait, does that even have meaning anymore?)

So after ten weeks at home (still working remotely) I am missing human contact with my colleagues but am not missing my daily commute of almost 2 hours. I've mastered Zoom and InstaCart, learned how to wear a mask, and trimmed my hair/touched up the color. I'm wondering if I'm ever going to get the chance to wear some of my cute summer cardies that are the cornerstone of my summer work look... :classic_sad:

As for cruising, my second cruise of the year (in August) was just canceled. :classic_sad:  Still have one on the books for mid-October (Mediterranean BTB on Celebrity) but I'm not holding out a lot of hope...

Hopefully everyone else's week was better than mine!

Lois -- hope you are on track to a "new normal" for you.

Fridays still have meaning for me DH works from home and DS is still taking classes, so weekends I get to see them a little more, even if we are all in the house most of the day 🙂

Maybe you can wear your cardigans for your zoom meetings?

I also appreciate the reduced driving and wear on the vehicles.  I'm guessing insurance might go down since DH found out he will be working from home indefinitely.

We have a cruise booked for November, but like you I'm suspecting it will be cancelled 😞 On the happy news front, my niece who had canceled her wedding for next Saturday has been able to resume for a week later - it was to be a small wedding and now will be a little smaller (we won't be there, but Grandma & Grandpa will), but at least she gets to have her day and begin her marriage❤️ Our private school only has 25 students in the graduating class, and it looks like they will be able to have graduation with a very limited audience plus live streaming to others 🙂

Hi girls, thanks again for the well wishes. I went to the Dr and then yesterday morning to the lab....he wants all

new labs before going further with changing any meds or anything.  As for the feet, he saw them and told me 3

things.....first, he said to just try to keep my feet up.....to wear compression socks at home and as for the water,

he said 2 liters per day....or say 8 ounces with each meal and then another glass....well, that would be 24 or 32

ounces.  He did not want to give me anything for the swelling until the labs come back so he could see my exact numbers.

I am supposed to take my blood when I get up in the morning (before breakfast)..so this morning, it said 96. That

is not high at all (sugar).   One step at a time.

As for cruises, I had one for Sept booked but cancelled it and now I have no idea when I will even be traveling

again.....….hopefully I will be well enough to do something in 2021 but I am sure this year is shot.

Hi Lois, it sounds like your doctor is on top of your medical issues. New labs so he can make sure your meds are correct is a good start. It’s always reassuring to have a doctor who is overseeing your entire medical situation and is there to consult with the specialists to make sure that your care is the best it can possibly be.

As for cruising, I don’t think any of us knows when that might happen-not even the cruise lines  from what I’ve read. Seems like lots of confusion as to how and when. I think you are right that this year is a loss (in so many ways).

In in the meantime, I guess we just keep wearing our comfy clothes, save money by not using as much make up and wait to see how this all plays out. You know, even though things are opening up in many places, I’m not sure how comfortable I am with this because the virus numbers are still growing and we don’t have a good collection of meds to treat it or a vaccine to protect us from getting it.

Take care, Lois!

Sharon

good morning ladies!  (although I guess it's afternoon for most of you)  8 weeks for me now...  today some of our shops & businesses are allowed to open up as long as they can do curbside pick up..  golf course can open as well.   I would kill to go golfing!   But for us, we're still hunkered down...  plan on looking at the numbers weekly & when they have a steady two week downturn, then we'll probably start doing some take out food & maybe go paddle boarding.

I've settled into a steady routine of working from home (not much to do)  gardening,  & running/hiking in the evenings while listening to science podcasts.  Hopefully its counteracting all the drinking I'm doing at night while watching TV.

For some reason I still look forward to the weekends even though they are pretty much same as the weekdays...

Cynthia, I'm sorry about your cruises, I still have one last one booked for this year over Thanksgiving week....  it's a vacation one with our younger daughter & SIL...  I so want to go on it, I miss them so much...  holding out hope that we will be in a lull at that time & can go.

Lois, it sounds like you have a great proactive Doctor,   hoping that by next year you will be good to go ( & that goes for all of us)

Sharon, I feel as you do, afraid we are opening up a bit too quickly without numbers to support doing so....

Anita,  we should have been leaving for our Canada & Alaska adventure next week,  I still look at your photo review occasionally with longing :)

Stay safe & be smart & kind everyone!

Lois, hang onto that doctor, more should do what he is. Mine is like that, bloodwork & time before adding pills, etc. 96 for fasting blood sugar is good.

hope everyone has a nice Mother’s Day weekend.

Do you mind if I take this back to the original topic? I love Beall’s Florida and they were having an amazing sale, so I bought a couple of dresses, some sandals and jewelry. Here is a picture of one of the dresses they sent. This isn’t what I ordered and it’s not even listed on their website. I tried it on for DH and he said the color was fantastic and it was a keeper. Whenever I get to cruise again, this dress is going with me! I’m wore this the other day. Love it.

Do you have the tag for this?  Who is the maker & is there a style name or number?  I'd love to get this dress!

Not my style, but they are both nice dresses.  I'd call them the "ladies who lunch with a cocktail in their hand on the patio in the Hamptons."  You can always do that right now - why wait for a cruise!!!!!  (well,  not the Hamptons, but your house 😉).

a little cool here today, with showers.  Had to replace a T-shirt in my daily fashion repertoire for a light sweatshirt.  Today's leggings are my Sweaty Betty black/yellow jungle print with the leopards on them.   Footwear is "naked" unless I have to go out.  Hair style is "whatever I woke up with".

it's cooler here today as well....  I went with the same hair style as you.... whatever I woke up with :classic_cool:... it's 11:30 here & I'm still in PJ's...  the only shoes I've worn in the last two & half months are my running shoes...  I wear them when I go to the store every two weeks as well...  I've decided all my other shoes will remain a coronavirus free zone lol....  I actually don't own that many pairs but they are just sitting in the closet with all the other stuff I don't wear anymore.

When we can go out again it will be like having a whole new wardrobe lol :)

When I can go out again, my wardrobe will likely be the same for daytime, maybe switch to jeans *if I have a pair that still fits* for evening wear.  That's what I've always done, anyway.  I may run a brush through my hair, though, but since it's loving being "free and natural" now, I may leave it that way.  I am Jones-ing for a new pair of trail runners, though.  My yellow Solomons are only good for non-activity now as the sole on the ball of my feet now has all the nubs worn off.  Every sale pair I've seen so far are out of stock for my size.  I may have use some of Trump's check to pay full price - trail runners ARE a necessity!

Los Angeles note:  I suddenly got really depressed when I heard that the County Commission may put the SaH order in through July.  Selfishly, I kept holding out for my June Andrea Bocelli concert...

I wear jeans when going out or I have a pair of shorts that come to my knees (I guess they would be a style of cargo)

Definitely jeans when going to all my Dr's appts. and a short sleeved top. I have to remember to put on basic pair of

hoops now.

Yeah I'm sorry about that.... I know you were so looking forward to it....  all the headlines today were "Hollywood Bowl cancels its summer season for the first time... L.A. summer is officially cancelled"   I know it's stupid but I felt like crying when I read that.

on a happier note I'm marinating some chicken right now in buffalo sauce, going to BBQ later :)  then go run.  :)
