As I stated earlier, it isn't going away. Spikes are going to be with us until a vaccine is developed. We just need to learn how to manage to live our lives and open up as well. It's trying. It's hard. But it's also necessary. We just have to learn as we go and be smart about it. not if done right MANY MANY countries have FIRST gotten the curve down and then managed the outbreaks. NY has NOT gotten spikes. If you followed the CDC and government guidelines , you could manage the spikes with contact tracing but not if its still out of hand what they have in common is that they didnt follow the guidelines Edited July 17, 2020 by hftmrock
Goodtime Cruizin Posted July 17, 2020 #102 Share Posted July 17, 2020 I'm not sold on anything from NY. NY has had the largest spike in thw world. It's too early to say it won't re-occur. 2

Their economy is in the toilet, businesses will never come back, looting and rioting (yeah, those people don't spread anything), yada, yada, yada. 🍷

This is because the leaders of the EU believe that US citizens pose an unacceptable health risk to EU citizens due to the quite obvious rapid unchecked spread of COVID through the US. I am saddened at the plight of the US. I wish this could be done straight up for Texas too. 😜

Nice advice- maybe I stick to a titel in English-like " Crusing with a mask"! Or something the like! Germany opend at the end of May- Mask become mandatory- we are stayed open ever since- the cases went down- not up- except for Spike in a meet packing facility- which - thank god, could be stopped from spreading further! So maybe- just maybe- if the Flordians would have worn masks... I don´t know- just a thought! 3

LOL- we are not called " krauts" for nothing! Anyway- a good prepared Wiener Schnitzel ( so called it has to be veal ) - or " Like Wiener Schnitzel" ( can be any other meat) is something I really love! I am from very down south- swabian- as you may call it- so " Spätzle" are also not to be missed! I just got my letter informing me that all online stuff has been recieved and I am allowed to board- my region is very very low in activ cases- so no surprise there. In fact there is only one area in German where the cases are a bit higher, due to the meet packing scandal from a few weeks ago. Also they mentioned that ones temperature is taken daily and will be monitored- how they will do that remains to be seen.

It shows more and more that if everyone is wearing a mask in places where distancing cannot be kept it is the most effective way. Yes, it's annoying at times to wear the mask, but if this really helps to let us live a half ways normal life during the pandemic it it so worth it. Hence I hope that this message will finally also get to the US as only like this you will get things back under control and have the number of new cases go down. MADflyer Posted July 18, 2020 #122 Share Posted July 18, 2020 The Spanish King had a great statement to the Spanish people on Thursday at a ceremony to commemorate those that have died and the essential workers. "...in these months, our society has provided a lesson of immense courage. Spain has shown its best spirit. With the passing of time, we will remember that we were an example of civic responsibility, maturity, resistance and commitment to others.” The statement gives insight to how Spain will handle the 'New Normal' and the relationship they will have with the cruise lines. https://english.elpais.com/society/2020-07-16/spain-holds-tribute-to-victims-of-covid-19-pandemic.html
