What cruises are on your current bucket list?

Hello fellow cruisers!  It's been rough times for all of us, but I think cruising will return in some form sooner or later.

Today's question for you all is what cruises are on your current bucket list.  I'll go first:

  • Music-themed charter cruise - My only current cruise booking is one of these, in March '22.  I have my doubts about whether it will go, how much it will change if it does go, and whether I'll like what I end up with.  But I'm hopeful.
  • New Zealand cruise - currently hostile to foreigners (excepting Australia), but they'll come around once we all get our acts together
  • Circumnavigate Australia - currently hostile to foreigners (excepting New Zealand), but they'll probably come around once we all get our acts together
  • Pacific crossing from the U.S. West Coast to Australia
  • Africa Grand Voyage - I'm highly intrigued by HAL's current offering for late 2022.  I hope they or someone else has a similar journey in a decade or so when I will have more time (and $$$) for such things.

That's it for now.  What's on your list?  Thanks for sharing!

Black sea.....

White sea.....

NORTHERN coast of Norway

Southern Africa

Adriatic Coast (Smaller ship, smaller ports)

Greenland  (Again, smaller expedition ships, multiple ports)

Circumnavigate Australia  (Have done the east coast, the rest still intrigues!

Antarctica (please let my December cruise be a go!)

Transpacific - would love to do a Japan to Alaska and a Sydney to NA west coast

Australia

New Zealand

Northern Europe (Have a British Isles booked but would love to do the Scandinavian countries as well)

Honestly the more I read itineraries the longer my list gets!

  • Circumnavigation of Japan during cherry blossom season
  • South America "round the horn" and Antarctica
  • Greenland and Iceland (particularly interested in the Viking heritage rather than scenery)
  • Through the Suez canal again and into the Arabian Sea, finishing with some ports in India then disembark and see more of India
  • British Isles -- long enough to visit all the main ports from the Hebrides and Orkneys to Cornwall...
  • Hurtigruten classic Norwegian coast
  • ....and I'm game for just about any good Med itinerary on a smaller ship

We did this combined with an escorted land trip, beginning in Buenos Aires and then Argentinian and Chilean Patagonia. Both part were fantastic!

We did this on Hurtigruten's now retired Lofoten, roundd trip. It was stunning.

Really do not have a bucket list other than to continue to cruise a couple of times a year in a nice suite. Love our music charters was scheduled to cruise this month on one but it was postponed to 2022. COVID has stopped me from my goal of having the number of cruises match or exceed my age would have made it this year.

Would like to visit Istanbul again on a cruise into the Black Sea.  Would like to do the North Cape of Norway.  Perhaps one from Dubai to Singapore or Hong Kong.  Would like to do the Amazon again.  Would like for my sister to see China.  EM

Oops, I forgot to put the Black Sea on my list.

Just on a good ship at sea, anywhere.

We've been to all the major wish list places we aspired to, by land and by sea.   Now, and for the past few years, all we want is to be at sea; ports are not very important.

Would have to agree on this....

Bucket list...... A cruise where the ship goes somewhere with sea days.... and not too many restriction...

but we will have to wait and see.....

Our only remaining bucket list cruises are the Amazon and to the South Pacific from California.  After that it is either convenience or a sweet deal.   All other bucket list items are non-cruise.   My next cruise is not on the list but is a convenience cruise sailing from Florida to Europe to meet my sisters and their husbands for river and land.  DH would rather cruise to Europe than flying and dealing with jet lag and airports, sounds good to me. Of course we will fly home

We had 3 "bucket list" cruises booked for 2021 and 2022 that have been cancelled by the pandemic:

Norway Fjords, Nile River, and South American Cape Horn and Chilean Fjords.

They are now back on our bucket list.  We had other cruises/travel that were COVID cancelled on more common itineraries, but these were the top 3 we were looking forward to experiencing.  It is possible that by the time we feel "safe" enough to travel to these places, our advancing age may make it unwise to attempt.

Circle Africa. Not sure if this one even exists yet.

It exists.  Holland America's Grand Africa voyage in 2022 comes as close as I've seen to a true circumnavigation:  https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/find-a-cruise/W2F71A/X260.html .  Their 2023 world cruise also goes around a good portion of the continent.
