It's raining here, too!  Very exciting.  Just hope it keeps up for days, as our reservoir is down to 82% and, as more and more people move here, it goes down even faster.  If we have another dry winter, we're in trouble.

@mamaofami, Carol, so sorry about your DH, I hope he recovers pdq.  What a worry these men can be!  Pat is pale, too, @marshhawk, I worry about him, he went to exercise class this morning for the first time in many months, now he is going to have a haircut, and we have an appointment with the surgeon this afternoon.  i have a feeling he will say "I've done my job, just go back to your own doctor now, I want nothing more to do with you."  But we need to find out if he will be referred to the Cancer Centre, or what we do for the future.  Also the pathology results.  Roy, @rafinmd, I hope everything goes well with your appointments this week, and you can get going on some travel!  It looks like you had a very interesting trip planned, you always do some amazing organizing.

Too bad there are no In-&-Out Burgers in the UK.  Otherwise, I would bet you would have a different answer.  But I like McDonald's also.

Morning all. Little news from here. We are still sunny and dry although not as hot as it has been. Yesterday had a high of 90 and this morning it was 55 when the dogs and I walked about 6. Felt really good. No more signs of bears, but the fruit trees are heavy with fruit and I expect he/she/they will be back. I am feeling a bit "low" today for no real reason at all,  so it is going to be an easy day for me. There is nothing urgent to be done.

I had pioneering ancestors although they were not Mormon. My 3X great grandmother was born in Maryland in 1801 .... married in Kentucky ..... lived through the Civil War in Missouri and after she was widowed  she moved west to live with her daughters in Oregon and later in California.  As a young girl she saw the burning of Washington during the war of 1812. What a life she had!!! And literally from coast to coast in her lifetime. Family history is interesting and I always wonder what these people were actually thinking at times in their lives.

And, after all the large families in my background, I only had one cousin and I never met him since he was in Oregon and I was on the east coast or in England most of the time. Dad had 3 sisters who never married and only one of Mom's sisters had a child. Lots of second and 3rd cousins out there but I don't know them. I have heard from one via Ancestry and she has provided some interesting information about my grandfather's sisters and their families.

Better get back to doing some easy work. I have my eye on drawer that can easily be sorted and probably most of the contents tossed so that is what I will start with.

Mine is In-&-Out Burger.

We don't have In-&-Out Burgers Restaurants in Canada.  I wonder if they'll ever come up here?

Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily. Busy thread today!

A salute to brave Amelia Earhart and Pioneers. I have no cousins. Strange quote. I'll pass on the meal as I don't like pesto. Yes to the drink (used to be my go to, with diet Coke) and wine. A historic day in Canadian history. I have been to Burnie, on my first HAL cruise from Auckland to Sydney.

It's warm and sunny here today. Going into the 90's this week, with heat index over 100F. No big plans today except doing laundry.

@rafinmd I hope all your medical appointments have good results. Sorry you had to cancel that cruise, but you want to feel fit enough to enjoy one when you do go.

@grapau27 Thanks for the explanation of Pioneer Day. Happy Birthday to your cousin Yvonne!

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for the Burnie photos.

@mamaofami Oh no, I am so sad to hear this news about Sam! Praying for this complete recovery and hoping he doesn't need surgery.

@puppycanducruise Nice picture of that heron.

@smitty34877 Good for you for getting help with the cleaning. And I hope both patients are doing ok today.

@cruising sister I am very glad to hear some encouraging news about Baby Murphy. Continued prayers for her. Sorry to hear about Molly and I hope the orthopedic vets can help her.

@Cruzin Terri I'm glad you're feeling better and were able to take a nice canal boat tour in Copenhagen.

@marshhawk Could DH be anemic? That could make him pale and tired.

@ottahand7 That brisket looks great. I've never made one, as I don't have a smoker. I watched the Open too, and couldn't imagine playing in downpouring rain.

@Crazy For Cats Thanks for sharing your visit to Saint John.

@Seasick Sailor I hope Allen gets good reports today, but that's awful on the doctor cancelling (especially for a 3rd time!). I had that happen with one specialist, and changed to someone else in the practice. And I hope the bee swarm moves on.

@Cruising-along Feel better soon.

@ssawjo Hmmm, I haven't been through a drive-thru in years, but I'd pick Wendy's. No In-&-Out around here.

@Vict0riann I hope Pat's appointment with the surgeon goes well today and you get plans for treatment set up.

@durangoscots Sorry to hear you're feeling "low" today; take it easy and maybe pamper yourself.

@1ANGELCAT Ha! It's hard to see stores with all this Christmas in July stuff, when it's 90 degrees outside.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Checking in from the Zaandam.   Unfortunately, Jacqui was unable to meet us this morning in Saint John.   Maybe next time.   We hope Ivan has perked up.

Our excursion for tomorrow to the ocean floor has been cancelled due to the damage from the storms in Nova Scotia.  More worrisome is the fact that four people are missing.  We will just go with the flow since it won't do us any good to complain and just make us more miserable.  We'll have time to shop for t-shirts tomorrow.  We've been very successful at that.

With all the flooding and damaged that occurred in parts of Canada this past weekend including New Brunswick has anyone heard from @kazu Jacqui?

She's posting regularly on other threads.  There was some controversy involving her (and a number of posts removed) Saturday and I hope we haven't lost her permanently.  I think she is also due to meet with @dfish when they visit Saint John.

Susan, what an interesting life your 3X great grandmother had.  Many of my ancestors had large families until my grandparents.  Beginning with them, each generation had one or two, and our DDs do not have children.

We like In & Out, but it has only recently opened in a few Texas cities.  Around here the choice is McDonalds or Sonic, and we like both.

Debbie, I'm sorry Jacqui wasn't able to meet you today.  Reading between the lines, I guess Ivan had another bad day, and I hope they figure out to help him without more meds that can bother him.  It's too bad you tour for tomorrow was canceled, but given the storms and flooding, I'm glad you will make it to Halifax.  I hope they find the missing people.  Remember, you're on a BHB so it can't be all bad.  And you can never have too many t-shirts.  I hope the waterfront boardwalk was not badly damaged since it's an interesting walk.

Nova Scotia is a mess, Bruce.  I’m afraid Debbie & Jake are going to have a lot of changes on their cruise 😔. some flooding here but not serious and nothing compared to parts of Nova Scotia.  The railway is wrecked in the north of the province and at least 4 bridges are out. 😔  I am unaffected - live on a hill which I curse in the winter but saves me at times like this.

I’m just not in a good place right now and in such slow motion I can’t keep up.  So, I’m taking care of what I have to right now.

that probably doesn’t make sense.  I don’t seem to express myself well lately.  thanks for asking ♥️

Thanks Susan.  I’m so sorry you have been besieged with worries as well 😔

Ivan was doing well until I stupidly posted on FB about him being off his pain meds.  You can guess what happened this morning.  😔. i never got to the cruise port 😢

He couldn’t be taken with our heat and he wasn’t right so like a suck,I cancelled and stayed with him.  Just as well.

He should be ok though - it’s just being on watch for signs of pain, my BFF’s husband’s prognosis and, I confess it brought everything back for me after she was gone and the ongoing insurance struggle.

I can concur that some are having a really tough time right now.  My twin is beside herself with concern and sadness about a loved one's situation.  In addition to that, her 14 1/2 year old Golden Retriever Madi is in very poor health right now, not eating and barely drinking.  Having had some tests done they are awaiting word from the Vet on whether today is the day for precious Madi to go over the Rainbow Bridge.  She describes her life as h e l l  right now and nothing I can say will make it any better.

Hoping everyone here that is going through "something" has a brighter day on the horizon.

Jacqui, you did the right thing by staying with Ivan this morning.  I hope all the problems you are facing and the worries about about others improve soon.  Take care of yourself and Ivan, and remember we're here if you need us or feel like sharing.
