The Fleet Report and Daily for Wednesday September 13th, 2023

Good morning everyone.   Thanks for the daily and fleet report @richwmn.  We love peanuts here but to enjoy decent Chinese is a good 10 miles away so not many fortune cookies to enjoy.  Sometimes I am superstitious usually when at the casino.   Strange quote by Disreali.     Shrimp tacos are wonderful, pass on the Zombie and would try the sparkling wine but usually South African wines are not my favorites.  Thanks for the photos of Invergordon.

Prayers for Terrie and Lou and the rest of their family.   Prayers for baby Murphy and her family.   Continued prayers for Maui and Ukraine, now with the addition of catastrophes in Morocco and Libya.  Prayers for everyone needing them,

I have a day of weeding.   One member of my garden club is coming to pot the bareroot irises and daylilies.  there are about 5 other plants that critically need to be moved to bigger pots too,  I can handle the rest on the weekend.   Have a lovely day.   Nancy

Good morning, everyone!

Today will be much brighter in mid-Michigan with the sun peaking around the clouds most of the day.  Temps only getting to 65F, but that is fine by me!  No Farmer's Market today as we are still well stocked in veggies.  We will hit the grocery store and get our senior discount - 15% off on Wednesdays.  That will be after a walk this morning.

Shrimp tacos sound great to me.  @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda, if you leave the slaw out, would you put something in instead?  Like tomatoes, avocados, etc?  I might do these for dinner tonight.  We have some cabbage we need to use up.  https://www.aheadofthyme.com/shrimp-tacos-with-lime-crema-slaw/

I like the spice mix in this one:  https://tastefullygrace.com/shrimp-tacos-with-lime-crema-slaw/

But then, there is this one with bacon in the slaw.  https://downshiftology.com/recipes/shrimp-tacos-cilantro-lime-bacon-slaw/

That last one may be the one that wins out!

I hope those in the vicinity of the escaped murderer can breath deeply in relief.  Stay safe, everyone.  Wishing you all a wonderful day.

It’s a great morning as the manhunt is over. He was captured around 8:15 this morning hiding in a field. Thee is a news conference scheduled for 9:30 .
it’s a cool and very humid morning possibly more rain later today and tomorrow is supposed to be nice.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.

Sam is back in the hospital with an increase in his brain bleed and they have to decide whether to operate or wait and watch. Needless to say I am very worried about the outcome of brain surgery and the risks of doing it or of the bleed getting bigger. Both ways hold serious risks.

Our driver arrived on time, despite Boston traffic, and we are home.  Mona insisted on some lap time before she’d eat breakfast.  Tucker and Zander each wanted some lap time and Amelia was close by demanding some rubs.  Laundry is underway and the yard needs mowed.  I suspect dinner will be takeout.  It’s still a vacation day?

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I'm only superstitious regarding sports, lol. If my team wins with me wearing a particular shirt or jersey (during playoffs), I'll wear it again for the next game. Fortune cookies are meh, and while I love peanut butter, I don't eat peanuts. Strange quote. Maybe on the meal. Zombies were one of my drinks of choice in college (once I was old enough). Pass on the wine. I haven't been to Invergordon. A good day in history!

It's cool here, but sunny. Going down into the 40's the next few nights, with highs in the 70's. Busy day for me. I have a medical appointment in town late morning, and then PT this afternoon. And BFF and the guys from Germany want to go out for Mexican this evening (I told them not too late as I limit any nighttime driving due to vision issues).

Woohoo on them finally capturing the escaped convict!

@StLouisCruisers I like working on computers (and there's no one here to help anyway) and BFF asks for help sometimes, as he gets frustrated if it doesn't go right on the first go. Wonderful photos from Invergordon.

@Lady Hudson Prayers for Jalen Alexander. I'm sure you're relieved about the convict being caught finally. Your cruise will be different; all you can do is go with the flow.

@Denise T I'm glad the adrenal mass is benign, like most, even if slightly larger. I suppose they'll want to re-image it in a year or two.

@grapau27 Hugs to you and @Paw13 Pauline today.

@dobiemom Yikes on that hook in DBIL's neck!

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos from Scotland.

@dfish Thanks for the recipes.

@marshhawk I hope you get some time to relax.

@Cruzin Terri I hope the increased prednisone dose kicks in soon so that you start to feel better.

@mamaofami So sorry to hear that Sam is back in the hospital with an increase in the brain bleed. Prayers that the doctors figure out the best way to go for his recovery.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

Debbie, I just used Google to see if I could find the recipe for the shrimp tacos I had on HAL.  It turns out it is a America's Test Kitchen recipe.  It uses lettuce, tomatoes, avocados along with a lot of other things that can be left out if you want to.  I guess since HAL is not longer affiliated with ATK, that explains why I haven't seen them since 2018.  I thought it had been on the Amsterdam, but it must have been on the Zaandam where I had them.  Here is a picture of the tacos and a link to the recipe.

SFS_Shrimp_Tacos_RESHOOT-5.webp.76e2001712ac004fe35f1261f09ff957.webp

I might give the recipe a try even though I am not a fan of ATK.

Katherine @Lady Hudson how worrying to have little Jalen Alexander in the hospital for breathing issues.  I'm glad he's home and hope he continues to do well from now on.

Carol @mamaofami I'm very sorry to hear about Sam's increased brain bleeding.  I pray they make the correct decision and that his medical team can fix him up as soon as possible.  We want him back home with you and feeling good again before long.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I'm not superstitious, just a little stitious, like no hats on a bed, toss spilled salt over your left shoulder, etc.  We haven't had Chinese food in ages, so no fortune cookies, but they're always fun to read out loud when at the end you say "in bed".  I like peanuts in the shell, coated in chocolate, or in peanut butter.

I just turned on the news channel and was so relieved for all my PA friends that the escapee has been captured.  You all must be breathing a sigh of relief!

@CrabbyPatti I'm saddened to hear you had to make the decision for your sweet Dad; it's a difficult thing to do, but know you've done the right thing.  I'm so glad your colleagues at the hospital are so supportive for you.  Prayers as you go through this, and also for a peaceful transition for your Dad.

@mamaofami I'm sorry to hear Sam is back in the hospital; I hope they are able to stop the brain bleed from progressing and he's back home with you soon.

It's a cloudy day out there for us this morning - last night around 8 we had a great display of lightning, thunder and a couple of bursts of heavy rain which of course, knocked down many more leaves from our neighbour's trees.  It looks like we had even more showers overnight as there are puddles on the street and the the perimeter wall around our yard is looking very wet.

I literally just received a text message from are code 678 (Atlanta) that said:  Good morning, can I offer you a job?   While I'm intrigued and would like to find out what type of employment they were interested in, I deleted the text and reported it as junk.  LOL

An easy day ahead for us - I've got lunch with a friend and DH has coffee with his band this afternoon.  I don't have to cook tonight because DH said he'd pick up something on his way back from coffee, so whatever it is (I'll bet it's a rotisserie chicken) will be enjoyed on the deck tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, cheers to all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Gerry @ger_77 that's the area code for my location, but I swear it wasn't me!!  My landline has that area code but my cell phone has a Missouri area code.  I always wonder who these people are sending us spam texts!📱

I forgot to mention that yesterday I finished 7 more pages of my photo book.  I'm usually satisified with 4 a day so am getting ahead here.  I have a limit of 111 pages to a photo book so if things don't look like they're going to work out at that length I have a big job ahead of me to edit and re-do many pages.  The limit is Shutterfly's edict, not my own personal decision.🤞

I know many Dailyites are relieved that the escapee is back in custody.  I bet they'll keep a closer watch on him now.

I checked the rain gauge earlier, and we received 0.06 inch of rain.  It could be a little more since the fancy rain gauge report the rain amount in 0.03 inch increments.

Carol, I was very sorry to read that Sam is back in the hospital with an increase brain bleed.  I hope the doctors find a way to stop the bleed without surgery.  Sending positive thoughts that what ever is decided, it results in a good outcome, and Sam will be able to go home soon.

Welcome home, Jake!  Enjoy your last day of vacation in spite of the laundry and yard mowing.

Vanessa, you can have my peanut butter, and I'll take you peanuts.  I hope all goes well at the doctor's appointment and at PT.

He's now going to be in a state prison which is likely more secure than a county facility.

Good morning! Have been to today’s port on the Prisendam and have done two extensive land tours of Scotland. Love Scotland and it’s citizens.

The misty fog eased last night and we were treated to another beautiful sunset. Need to get some coffee and discuss what we are doing today.

Happy to hear the fugitive in PA has been caught.
Coffee time. Have a great day and thanks for all your contributions to the Daily.

Bruce

Good morning to all.

Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report. Thank you to Vanessa for the Cares and Celebration list.  You amaze me at how you are able to capture all our events.  You never miss one.

Than you to the Food and Beverage Department (Debbie, Ann and Dixie) for the wonderful job you do each day.  Where would we be without all of you!

Well, as I posted last night, I could not believe that I did not post yesterday.  I can just about remember writing the post.  I don’t think there was anything offensive in it that it needed to be removed.  Oh well, maybe a senior moment. LOL.

Looking at the Cares List, My prayers are with all of you.

I especially remember in Baby Murphy, and @smitty34877‘s Lou as the family goes through a very difficult and sad time.   I now add @mamaofami’s Sam to that list with his new brain bleed.  It is not an easy decision to make regarding surgery.  Prayers for @grapau27’s Pauline’s baby brother.  May he rest in peace.  Prayers for everyone on the list.  Prayers also for those in the path of Hurricane Lee.  Good luck to those on a cruise in that area.  Prayers for everyone’s safety.

Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.  Enjoy every minute.

Yesterday, I think everything caught up with me.  The lack of sleep for so long, a lot of driving, and just overall fatigue.  I took DH to the dentist and then we went to Publix. After we came home I just collapsed.  I had some financial work to do, but that did not get done.  Instead, I sat down in front of the TV and fell asleep for the afternoon. Felt even worse when I woke up. I still had to make dinner and I just was exhausted.  Also had a sore throat.  Every bone in my body hurt.   I decided to take a Covid Test and it was negative.  Sleep did not come easily last night.  Slept too much during the day.  Also, the increased Prednisone dosage is doing a job on my already delicate tummy.

Today I feel a bit better. The neck pain is subsiding, albeit slowly.  However, the arms and shoulders are still painful as are my thighs but not as bad.  The headache has not yet left.  So I am making progress. The best day will be when I have no more pain and can throw away the Prednisone.  Don’t  know when and if that will ever happen.

i have follow up appointments when i return from our trip/cruise.  December 11 and 12.  Hopefully things will be stable then. Also have an appointment with the Dermatologist for a questionable spot on my right calf.

Today I have an Ophthalmologist appointment.  Really late in the day—3:50.  It was moved from the day of Hurricane Idalia, which ended up being a non-event here.  We have had worse storms that had no name.  Maybe I can get some financial work done before I go.

Glad they caught the fugitive.

That’s about all I have for today.  Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.

God Bless,

Terri

News conference just completed.

Thermal imaging camera had a heat source recorded from a DEA aircraft during the night. He was found under a woodpile and the K9 dogs did their job. He was bitten as he tried to escape the dogs. He also acquired an Eagles sweatshirt somewhere.

Kudos to all law enforcement officers involved.
