Good morning.

It is 55°F and raining here.

Thank you for today's early fleet reports Rich.

3 good days and quote.

I love scallops.

I have never been to today's port.

Great days in history.

I hope everyone is well.

Good morning friends!  It's 65 here with cloudy skies, a high of 76 and a possible shower this afternoon.  Yesterday it poured on me as I arrived at the dental cleaning appointment.  Thankfully I didn't get wet at the grocery stop afterwards.  In the afternoon I got my first try at the new laptop and it seems to be working out fine.  Fast!  I went to work on those photo book pages and got 10 pages completed before I turned it off last night.  It would be great to finish it this weekend.

Thank you Rich @richwmn for our Saturday Fleet Report and Daily.  You were up a little earlier today.  I'm not really a rock collector unless you mean precious stones. 😉  Hmmm... am I seeing new emojis today because CC changed something or is it my new computer changing things up??  Anyway I can give my support to the American Legion and to Step Family Day.  Today's quote is true and it pleases me.  No thanks to the scallops, drink or wine.  Worthy events back in 1620 and 1810.  Big thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for your continuing reports on food and beverages here.❤️

Prayers this morning for all our Care list people and for my DB and my friend's DB Mark.  No new reports on them.  Hoping our prayers are helping everyone especially Lou, Terry's DH @smitty34877 , Tana and the whole family.  Special prayers for a miracle for little Baby Murphy.  My condolences to Denise @CrabbyPatti and her family for the loss of DF.  I'm glad he could be at home as he wished for his final day.🙏 Hoping Annie @marshhawk is doing better with that eye injury!  Your neighbor should be responsible for any damages and should be made aware of the damage done to you because of it.  Hope Chuck @catmando is doing okay this week.  Good luck to Jacqui going through Hurricane Lee.  You did a stellar job of preparing and I know it wasn't easy.  Hoping you and Ivan stay warm and safe!  Cheers to all celebrating visits with family, birthdays, anniversaries and all the super cruises that y'all are on. Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the great lists!

Today's port is Picton, New Zealand, a port in NZ that I have not visited yet.  We had this port twice before on April 26, 2021 and February 5, 2022 so here are the links for your convenience in retrieving your photos.  Thanks in advance!

DS was back on a plan last night to Dallas after flying home Thursday from Lisbon.  His plane Thursday left Lisbon 90 minutes late and he thought they might miss their connection in Boston but made it on time.  His eldest son is home this weekend while DS attends Ren's FC Dallas games.  Hope their practices have improved their goal scoring skills!  😜  Yikes!  These emojis are the worst!

Anyway, have a great Saturday and entire weekend.  Stay safe and well.

Good Morning, thanks for today’s daily report.  It’s a rainy morning thanks to Lee. It looks like that’s all we will have to deal with from this storm.  I hope that everyone that is in its path stays safe.  My alarm clock, Mona, went off too early this morning and the snooze button wouldn’t work, I see a nap this afternoon and I think that was her goal. 😆.  I think today’s agenda will include a trip to BJs and laundry.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Happy Saturday.  Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie.  I like the days but I don't feel a personal  connection to any of them.  Happy Independence Day to Mexico, and Happy Rosh Hashana to those who celebrate it.  I like the Mead quote.  I'll pass on the scallops; not sure how that works with vegan.

I've been to Picton 1 to 3 (your choice) times in February 2020, arriving within days (in order) on the Interislander ferry, Coastal Pacific Train, and Crystal Serenity.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Another cool morning here, only 5C (41F) when I walked Bertie earlier, I hope it warms up soon.

I don't have any personal connection to any of the days.

I like the quote.

Not sure about the meal, I like scallops, but vegan?  Hmmm... guess I'll wait to see a recipe.

I'll pass on the drink, and hope the wine is lovely.

Prayers for everyone.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Thank you for today’s R & D, Rich. Very humid & cloudy this morning, though I can see the marine layer starting to break up.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with all of us. Bindi walks, more prep for this evening’s festivities & chores will fill my morning. Then my friends pick me up for the afternoon wine tasting & afterwards we all come back to my place to continue the fun.

@CrabbyPatti Denise, praying that your pain is eased by wonderful memories.

@kazu Jacqui, hope all is well with you.

Cheers to all who are celebrating.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

**********

Not sure whether you were testing me to see if I was paying attention or if your R & D program has a glitch @richwmn, but Rich your wine du jour also appeared yesterday. The list you sent to me had a different wine, so I used it.

2020 King Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Interesting how varied the critics’ reviews are. But white wine lovers you definitely want to taste this one. This Oregon SB is fresh and fruity, but has more body than many Sauvignon Blancs. And King Estate wines have never failed to please. A favorite of consumers and readily available with online prices starting at $18.99.

Winemaker Notes

In the glass the wine is the delicate color of pale straw. The nose hints at the classic Sauvignon Blanc flavors to follow: white peach, gooseberry, melon, guava, wildflowers, and damp slate. Fruit forward and crisp, this rich and mineral-driven wine exhibits balanced acidity with a satisfyingly long finish.

Blend: 91% Sauvignon Blanc, 9% Semillon

WW92 Wilfred Wong of Wine.com
The 2020 King Estate Sauvignon Blanc shows the excellent typicity of the grape variety. This wine delivers aromas and flavors of dried leaves, appealing earth, and fresh herbs. Serve it with seafood chowder.
WE92 Wine Enthusiast

This nicely combines ripe citrus and apple with zesty lime, a hint of grapefruit and penetrating acidity. It’s full-bodied and fleshy, with a lengthy spice-driven finish. Editors’ Choice.

JS91 James Suckling

Aromas of white peach, grapefruit and fresh mint. Medium-bodied with mineral character. Wet stones and fresh flowers mix with a solid core of stone fruit.

Thanks for our Saturday Daily, Rich.

And thanks to Vanessa, Debbie, Ann & Dixie

I will gladly celebrate Legion day whether it be American, Canadian or any other country’s Legion 👍.  Step families are so important to so many.  No collecting rocks today - no one is going outside here.

that quote of Margaret Mead’s is so true.  DD DH and I enjoyed Picton very much.  I would happily return.  I absolutely have to celebrate Mexican Independence in honour of DD DH.

weather here is no surprise, raining and blowing with the winds increasing on a regular basis. I think it peaks in a few hours.

IMG_0936.jpeg.f9316c23bde0c98f51c25441f9fb70f9.jpeg

Frustrated with the news.  All they talk about is Nova Scotia and yet, here we are in the same red/pink for the Hurricane Watch as they are.  I get it’s only an smidge of New Brunswick but……Ivan and I will just watch the wind blow and the rain and see what happens, I guess.  Wine may need to be involved at some stage 😜  but it will be white 😉

IMG_1102.jpeg.ea97f6b939c62d028d55cab3e944d22a.jpeg

On the bright side, Ivan is not spooked (yet) by the winds and rain.

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health issue, worries & those that need them.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

Good morning.  Sailing along to Greenland.  Left NY harbor at 6 last night to travel south and then 4 days north to Greenland.  A little scary yesterday when crew came in to close the hatch on our port hole!  We had to turn back after sailing about 2 hours last night for a medical helicopter evacuation.  The saga continues!  Katherine

Well DAM.  Yes, you can go out with a mask.  You can test positive for up to 30 days after covid.  You’re good to go.

@Haljo1935 Bon Voyage!  Have a wonderful cruise 🙂

Happy Saturday everyone. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Enjoying this cool weather. Highs in the low 70s with a crisp breeze. Great being able to shut the air conditioner off and open those windows. Haven't really planned anything today. College football Saturday.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning everyone.     I used to like to collect rocks in the old days at the cabin when we were just a bare lot before the gardens took off.   Michigan has a lovely variety of rocks,  I also collected them to make a couple of dry stack stone walls that didn't survive the frost heave well.  Thanks for hte daily reports each day @richwmn.   A great quote by Margaret Meade.     I will pass on the ersatz scallops and the fruity drink but I like Henshke wines.  They make one of the most expensive Aussie wines, Hill of Grace Shiraz.    I look forward to photos of Picton.

Prayers for those in the path of Lee including @kazu.    Prayers for Baby Murphy and her family, @Crabby patty 123 with the loss of your DF, @smitty34877 for you and your DH and @marshhawkwith your eye injury.     Prayers for everyone needing them, the flood victims in Libya and the people of Ukraine.

It is a beautiful morning here.   I will be trying too get all the plants repotted today.   My front bed looks pretty good with most of the overgrown plants out of it so it can wait until we return home from Baltimore early next week.    We will head to the casino tomorrow to watch the Ravens game.    It would be cheaper to pay for the YouTube signal but if it worked like Prime the other night we will not be paying for it, therefore a long lunch at the sports book.  Have a lovely day.  Nancy

Good morning, everyone!

It is going to be another beautiful day here in mid-Michigan.  Or at least it is starting out that way.  It is a bit on the chilly side at 52F, but will be warming up to the mid 70s.  Not too much on the agenda today.  I am going to the gym and then I have a Zoom meeting this afternoon and Farkle tonight.

Today's meal is a bit strange, I think.  The vegan scallops are really mushroom stems.  Specifically, you need King Oyster Mushrooms.   https://lovingitvegan.com/vegan-scallops/

veganscallops1.thumb.jpg.b0f12be9ee6220b7eac51349e60d698a.jpg

I don't know.  I think I'd just as soon stick to the real thing.  Here is a picture of the mushroom.  I don't think I've seen it in any grocery near me.

kingoystermushroom.thumb.jpg.3c1705eb97fbdbd28df7fe34feacf8d7.jpg

This preparation uses white wine.  https://itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/vegan-garlic-seared-scallops/

veganscallops2.jpg.c0ee84cc03497f7368b629cb4c6ffeab.jpg

And here's one that uses white miso and kelp granules.  https://wowitsveggie.com/vegan-scallops/

veganscallops3.thumb.jpg.844bdf33b811343d11512eda14137c65.jpg

The sear on these mushroom stems looks good.  I'm sure that they are very tasty.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!
