Good morning and thanks all! Great photos of Cork!  We enjoyed our visit there and to Waterford! No Blarney though!

An interesting day,  the Greek PM is visiting Canada today and Yoko and John’s bed in was in Canada.   Wish that would afford peace!

@grapau27 hope Sarah and Pauline find a way to say goodbye.   When DH’s father died his stepmother wouldn’t have a funeral, so it was very difficult.  All the best at this trying time.  Glad you’re sending Sarah on a little trip.

@cat shepard Happy birthday to your DS!

@ottahand7 what a great way to do a wine tasting, although I love lamb and octopus, lol!

Apparently bluebirds have been sighted!  They didn’t get the snow memo!

Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily @kazu @richwmn and maps @rafinmd.

I remember Bed-In for Peace. I'll salute Greek independence and Holi. I think Scott Hamilton is referring to himself and his childhood intestinal illness that kept him from growing much, yet he became a renowned gymnast. Then he had cancer and a brain tumor. I don't like roasted red peppers, so pass on the meal. Also pass on the drink and wine. I was in Cobh for the first time last year on my TA in 2023. 2 good days in history.

It's a nice day here. Already 56F and sunny. I slept about 3 hours. I have a call in to schedule my surgery date, and I've already made a pre-op appointment with my PCP. I was just going through the medication instructions, and was surprised to see my biologic medication has to be held 1 week prior and 6 weeks after the procedure! I've just message my Rheumatologist. Otherwise still trying to declutter. I have a donation pickup on Wednesday. No word from the contractor, although the cleaner is supposed to be here Wednesday or Thursday.

@seagarsmoker Congrats on the cruise. I'd like to do a PC cruise again.

@StLouisCruisers I'm glad DD made it safely there after that long drive. Great photos from Cobh and Blarney Castle.

@kazu I hope your physio can come up with a good plan for you. Good news on the refund on the cancelled excursion. Thanks for the Cobh photos.

@aliaschief Sorry to hear you are ailing. I hope you feel better soon.

@smitty34877 I admire Tana's fortitude in trying to get to the kitchen, despite how hard it must have been! Prayers for her, and you.

@cat shepard Happy Birthday to your sister!

@Mtn2Sea Nice photos.

@Nickelpenny Sadly, Fitbits don't have a great track record. I look odd with my Apple watch on one wrist and a Fitbit on the other. That was before Apple added more detailed sleep tracing to the watch. If/when the Fitbit dies, I won't replace it.

@Seasick Sailor I hope Allen's Nephrology appointment went well.

@ottahand7 That wine tasting sounded like a fun time.

@marshhawk Don is a difficult patient for his caregivers, from the sounds of it.

@rafinmd Great sunset photo!

@RMLincoln I'm glad you two enjoyed your day out yesterday.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos.

@grapau27 Hugs to Sarah, Pauline and you. Awful conduct by Sarah's mam.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

DD DH & I absolutely loved Cobh.

We stayed there - enjoying the ambience, lovely sights, woolen stores and the Titanic museum.

If you are there, the Titanic museum is really worth visiting.

It’s one the site of where Titanic’s old terminal - the last port Titanic visited before crossing the ocean.  This is the pier - The Titanic could technically dock but the Captain was in a hurry to cross the ocean and make a new record so the psssengers were tendered to the ship.

An actual picture.

and some more of beautiful Cobh

Nice photos.

The Titanic museum was small but interesting.

If you ever go to Belfast Northern Ireland the Titanic museum there where Titanic shipyard is it is excellent.

We visited Cobh in 2015 on Royal Princess.  Not only did we enjoy seeing Cobh, which is a lovely town, we also went to Blarney Castle and had a great time there as well.  My best remembrance of Cobh is a purchase I made there.  A sterling silver Celtic knot pendant and neck chain.  The finish on the pendant was so smooth and well done.  I love wearing it.

My photos of our visits to Cobh and Blarney Castle.

A view of the Lusitania memorial only with wreaths laid.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIu-883K1Gvk062Y3n2spWm?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1435189596

Cobh is a hilly place and I liked this view of the houses side by side down the hillside.  Many different colors (to help you find your own home after a trip to the pub?).00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVLqVuzpCM7nMqdaEhAlezQZ?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1435189603

While walking past those homes we saw this cute little dog watching us from "their" window.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIRgQUU9Ji8wVFqCFOVLTlg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1435194539

In viewing our pictures I see we were in Cobh twice on back to back cruises on Royal Princess.  The first cruise was a spring 2015 transatlantic cruise and on that one we spent our stop that day visiting Blarney Castle.  The second cruise was a British Isles cruise and that is the day we spent in town exploring.  I knew I'd been to Blarney Castle.

A nice view of Blarney castle and someone who decided to kiss the Blarney stone.  Not an easy task!  Our group passed on it.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKGhEv0ZVmG6ICqid-eKqaw?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1435187373

For those of you who have cruised out of Port Canaveral what city would you use for directions.  I got the mapquest address and it says Port Canaveral but my car garmin does not recognize that city.  Help please.

I am late today and just seeing this. Port Canaveral is not a city. , it is part of Cape Canaveral. It can be very confusing, like Cocoa and Cocoa Beach are 2 different places separated by about 10 miles and 2 rivers.

Anyway if you are driving in taking the 528. I You will see the ships before you actually get there. hey will be on the left. The signage is quite good. It is the overhead neon signs that state the ships and terminal. You are going to Terminal 8. The Disney ships are on the North Side . Exit 54.   Just follow the signs. You should not have a problem.

If you are coming from a different direction, just let me know.

Allen's appt didn't go well. Sodium and vitamin D is very low. His A1C high. Starting Jardiance. No protein shakes or beef. Cut back on meat, lots of vegetables. Well, he loves his greens so will up them and have a tiny protein.

Having lunch at our favorite place. Texas Red fish with salad and green beans.

Thanks for your thoughts today.

Good afternoon and Happy Monday from a cool Tucson. It was windy and cold yesterday and today isn’t much better but at least it isn’t as windy. We went out last night with family for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I had prime rib, yum. However, I have to say I liked the one I had on the Koningsdam more in February with the wonderful Yorkshire pudding. It’s not Craig’s favorite but he never orders steak!  I keep telling him that is the best thing that they have. He had chicken fried steak, go figure, not really a steak imho. We still had fun with the family.

I have stayed twice at the Montreal hotel where John and Yoko had one of their bed ins, the Queen Elizabeth.  The other one was in Amsterdam.  I have a picture of the door somewhere, it has a small plaque on it commemorating the bed in. Here is more info https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed-ins_for_peace

I have a recipe similar to today’s meal suggestion without the red peppers and it’s wrapped in bacon. It’s really good. I need to find the cookbook it’s in. I usually don’t like most chicken dishes but this one is a keeper. Debbie @dfish, I had to laugh about River not eating the chicken because of the sauce because that’s usually the only way I like to eat it.

Pennie @Nickelpenny, if there is anything I can help you with during your recovery please let me know. I could even be your driver if you need one.

Have a great day everyone!

But, she liked the sauce!   She wanted the sauce on her noodles because she said it was so good.  I don't get it.

Things have been much better today.  Thank goodness!

@Seasick Sailor I'm sorry Allen's appointment didn't go well.  Are they considering vitamin D supplements?   If he likes mushrooms, they are full of it.  I'm usually low in sodium as well, but not real low.

Thank you Lenda.

Pauline was a little upset going to work this morning.

I have had several WhatsApp texts with our Sarah who said she is okay but I know their parents actions have affected her.

Pauline and Sarah do the same Civil service jobs in different offices and they face time message each other regularly every day.

A good friend is taking her out for a meal tonight and we will take her out soon for a meal.

Sarah is getting a train 200 miles to a good friend's for Easter weekend so we have paid for First Class return train tickets for her.

Graham, I'm happy that Sarah's friends are also looking after her.  The Easter visit with a friend should help too.  Good for you and Pauline getting her first class tickets.  I hope Pauline is not too upset today about the horrible treatment from her sister and BIL.  Hugs to all three of you.

Vanessa, thanks for the great pictures of Cobh and especially the Titanic Museum.  It's interesting they give you a card about one of the passengers when you enter the museum.

Joy, that is not the news we wanted to hear about Allen's visit with the doctor today.  Is Allen taking a blood thinner?  We learned last year when DH was on blood thinners for a few months that certain green vegetables were not good with the blood thinner he was taking.  I thought I'd mention it since you said Allen likes greens which are one of the vegetables that were a no-no for DH.

Debbie, I'm glad today is a much better day.  I hope River is feeling much better today.

We've gotten quite a bit loaded today, and I'm taking a break before getting some more things loaded.

Vanessa, I hope you can get more sleep than three hours to night.  I also hope that not using your biologic medication for 7 weeks does not cause an adverse reaction.

Thank you for your kind words Lenda.

It is so sad we were close to them for 35 years but they showed their true colours these last eight years.

Joy, I hope things get better with Allen. Could one of his meds be causing the low sodium? It's hard to replete Vitamin D with just diet, and multivitamins don't have enough. I'm surprised the nephrologist didn't prescribe something for the low Vitamin D.

Lenda, hopefully neither the RA or the uveitis flares up. Rheumatology said they usually do 6 weeks total, so it's only a week more. At the end of the tour through the Titanic museum, you find out what happened to your person by calling up their name via a kiosk. Below is a photo of the information about Hannah.

Good Evening,  this afternoon I did something I wasn't planning.  I booked the Koningsdam for March 2026. The port time in San Juan was a big plus, 9am until 7.  I did this while Juan was baking outside.  He likes the port time too.

I asked my PCC to confirm that my share holder obc was correctly applied per the emails I received.  I submitted for three cruises and received confirmation for each cruise.  All three credits were applied to our November cruise. She fixed it.

Any improvement with her physical symptoms?  I can imagine trying to take her to a doctor would be a nightmare if it became necessary.

When I first read this I did not think in reference to the motor home.  I had other thoughts, probably thinking of what I wanted to do.

Not only a nightmare, but I don't think we have authority to get treatment.  We'd have to call her other grandma and maybe even get her mom in on it. Her symptoms are about the same today and I think it is just a childhood cold with a nasty cough.

Yes, but we have to remember the potential is always there.

Certainly a bad time to come down with a head cold. Stayed in cabin all day and did not go with Sue on a morning excursion to downtown Ha Long. Tomorrow was one port I was so looking forward to and that is Danang where I was stationed from 1969-70. I have tested negative for Covid but will wait until morning to make a decision. At this point I would definitely wear a mask but will not go unless I improve. It is what it is and I don’t want to pass my cold on to the other couple going on this private excursion. Have a great week everyone. Thanks for all that make the daily special. Bruce

I am so sorry to hear about the cold.  Bless you for protecting others 👍 I hope you are improved enough tomorrow to get to Danang 🙏

Tana was able to take a few steps with her walker and oxygen yesterday. I tried not to hover as she and her son negotiated their way to the kitchen. She was exhausted but pleased with her efforts.
Have a great day everyone!

Great news that Ana is making the effort 👏 👍. I know it is a struggle but ist starts that way.  Good for her!  I am so happy to hear that she is trying.  It’s a celebration of her and her spirit 🙂

Well we do care, but when he wont address the problem, at some point we have to stop caring.

I completely understand and agree.  I can understand your conundrum.

I couldn’t handle listening to that if the other person was refusing treatment.

thank heavens, Debbie 👍. You are in a difficult position not being guardian but in any emergency you should be allowed to take care of River.  The grandmother should be able to designate it, I think.

Debbie, I think I like your definition of loaded  much, much better.  🤣  There will be wine tonight,🍷 but if I got loaded, not much would happen tomorrow.  At least, the list is less than half as ling, and much can't go on the motorhome until close to the time when leave.

A few years ago (pre-covid, so technically probably more than a few) Target discontinued my favorite ice cream. It was their private label and I couldn't find anything similar enough to takes it's place. It was Triple Chocolate  - chocolate ice cream w/chunks (not chips) of dark chocolate and "ribbons" of white chocolate; it was heaven in a bowl. DH said it was too fancy for his liking, so I got the container to myself. Bonus was the price - being store brand, it did not have the higher price of premium or brand name ice cream. I love a good bargain and a bargain priced decadent ice cream is a home run!!

I've tried different ice creams from different stores and have not found a replacement; had some really good ice cream, but haven't discovered "the one." That may have changed.

Last week I ordered a box of Magnum double dipped chocolate carmel bars and rec'd Biscoff double dipped bars. Oh my!! DH won't try them (don't understand his aversion to "fancy" ice cream) so I guess I really did finish the box myself (is 6 bars in 5 days too many if they're mini bars, not full size?).🙄 Completely different than the Target ice cream, but I ordered more today.

If you like cinnamon, velvety chocolate and rich ice cream, give it a try. I got the mini bars (6 to a box) and think they're just the right size; I think the larger full size bars would be too rich for 1 sitting. It's like a hug-fest party in a box ❤️🤗

I am ready for lunch so I can have dessert.

Six bars in five days are not nearly enough.
