Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Thank you! ❤️

Very nice! Do your cats chew the tree? I had to put Andrew's baby gate back up to block our cats from the room with the tree, because they were chewing the lower branches completely bare. They don't bother the ornaments, they just want to eat the plastic needles.

They haven't done that.  Annabel has decided to get a few of the ornaments to bring to bed each night.  We may put the xpen around it to keep her out.  We only put the non-breakables on this year.  I put a lot of the breakable ones in the clear jars.  None of the other cats pay any attention to the tree.  At least Annabel isn't climbing into the tree which is what I was worried about.

I'd be curious to know how much of that was because most of the crew on that ship is American compared to being "standard operating procedure" for NCL in general.  (I think we can all agree that the service industry in the USA leaves a lot to be desired.)

Is there anyone here who has cruised NCL's non-Hawaiian itineraries and also the Hawaiian one that can give a comparison?

Just my thoughts as well. And I agree about the US service industry.
I have read reviews of this staff issue and that this ship has the worst service and a very "entitled" crew, want their rights, go on strikes, threaten to quit, have to have this and that. etc etc. That is the main reason why we chose Princess (and that Princess had a 15 day roundtrip via LA itinerary) for our cruise to Hawaii.
We have cruised many of NCL's ships and we absolutely love them! (We love Royal and Celebrity too). NCL's service and staff have always been excellent. Some things are way beyond Royal's reach. Some things compare the same. And somethings are relative. We have done many repositionings on NCL. My favorite ship in the Jewel class is the Gem. We have been on the Dawn many times. The Star we took to our first Panama Canal cruise and have great memories. My other (newer) favorites are Escape and Bliss. Joy and Encore are just as good.

I saw signs of the snowbird migration in Pennsylvania this morning.

I think they are a long way from home.

Last night, my grandson finished up the Lego gingerbread house, and he was starting this one.  It was finished when we got here this morning.

Note - This is just a rocket. It isn’t a lighthouse, or a lighthouse cookie, or any other imagined thing.  😁

Oh, and I'm back from cookie-baking purgatory.

Currently on Celebrity Constellation.  We have been rocking and rolling on the high seas, lemme tell ya!

Here's the Thalassotherapy Pool in the Solarium yesterday.... no waterpark wave pool needed here!

LOL at the cookie purgatory!

Going on Constellation in Feb.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thalasso pool looks warm and inviting!
Oh and I had a silly question>>>does your bathroom on the Constellation have a shower curtain or the capsule doors? I am hearing different things and pictures are showing doors.

What is your itinerary?

In case anyone missed it and is wanting to listen to some new and different Christmas music than the same Mariah Carey song over and over. Here is the post of my annual Christmas Mix for you to download.

So this was the best $9 spent, ever.  Granddaughter wanted Christmas lights for her doll house, so I picked up a led light strip and put it on for her.  She was so excited, especially since it had options to pulsate and change color with music.  She had to show everyone how it worked.

I was surprised that it took all 16 feet to outline the perimeter of the doll house.

Oh, and here is the completed gingerbread house.

It took a little longer, because of this help.

Constellation was built in 2002. Voyager was built in 1999 and was the first RCI ship to have shower doors. My guess would be that Connie has doors but I will be interested in seeing the answer to your question from someone with experience on the ship.

We always took our daughter in Dec. to see the tree and ice skaters at Rockefeller Center.  A trip to FAO Schwartz was tradition as well as viewing the decorated windows of Lord and Taylor Dept. Store.  No matter what holiday one celebrates, it's a totally magical experience.

@mets07Thanks for posting pictures of the TREE!

@TravelGirlinDallas Your decorated house looks lovely.   Very warm and inviting.

The most recent Manhattan tree that I saw was the one in Bryant Park in 2018.

The retro white ceramic tree was made by my grandmother, in the picture on the left. I love it so much.

Similar to Arzeena we have cruised often on NCL and our favorite ship has always been the Gem.

We sailed on NCL Gems maiden voyage in October 2007 from Dover England.

We sailed on her once more but sailed on no other NCL ships.

Just got back from vision yesterday. Two sea days after last port back to PE. First day was very bumpy and pools were overflowing onto the decks. Great wave action. Closed in the afternoon in the solarium. Final day pools were all closed and drained in the morning,  hot tubs were still open.
