Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Malta was the main draw (as was for Sue - @sgmn).

Santorini and Katakolon will be repeats.

Santorini -- we were lucky last time to be on the 1st speed boat to Oia, had the place to ourselves when it was still not so warm, but when we arrived at Thira at ~1pm, the place was "mobbed" -- the line to the cable car down was huge, and we feared not to make it in time back to ship, gave up Thira and stood in line for 2 hours !!!

This time our time in port will be much longer (until 10PM), so, hopefully, we'll see Thira and even have a nice souvlaki/giro meal there 😉

Rhodes and Athens, we stopped in our 1st cruise (1976....), so I don't think it counts. Pity we'll be in Athens on a Sunday.

Looking forward to Malta, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes and Athens 😁

Planning to arrive in Rome 2 days before the cruise (even though we visited many times, likewise Barcelona), and leave Barcelona a day after the cruise.

Lovely ports Dani.

We have been to all of them and you will absolutely love them.

Graham.

We would love to get back to the Greek islands, one of the best cruises we ever did was 20 years ago on Renaissance from Athens to Rome , loved that line small ships all non smoking and adults only , they went bankrupt shortly after 9/11.

Well, I haven’t talked about this, because I was hoping for good news.
My routine blood work showed moderate anemia, so I was sent for a endoscopy and colonoscopy. Had them September 30.
I was told immediately that I had a 4cm growth.

My previous colonoscopy in 2016 showed not even a polyp!

It took till today to get the biopsy results.
Definitely cancer.
I had already made an appointment with the surgeon who removed my hemorrhoids. (Don’t ever go through that if you can avoid it!)

I see him Wednesday, and he’ll probably order a CAT scan to start with.
I’m being referred to MD Anderson for after the surgery.
I was prepared for bad news, but hoping for good.
Now I will be praying to get past this, whatever it takes.
I’m going to really be mad if it affects my March Harmony cruise or my August Allure cruise.
Mimi, who has a lot of life yet to live.

Praying for you.  Stay optimistic!

Ok. Just when you think nothing more could happen!

HA!

Did you ever try to go to the bank with 150 new mostly sequential $100 dollar bills?

So today. Post cruise. Casual clothes. No makeup. Walked into my bank. None of my regular tellers there.

So I go up to the window and put my bank card in then entered my pin.
The teller goes. How can I help you.

I go I want to make a deposit.

She goes. How much.

I go $15,000

She goes can I have your drivers license.
Gave it to her.

So teller, bank card, drivers license, and $$$ go for a walk to a man in suit behind desk.

A few minutes later. Man in suit and teller bringing up the rear come to there side of window.

Now teller who must of been prompted goes.

Thats a lot of cash.

I go I know that’s why I want to deposit.

She  goes in a moment.
First we need to fill out a form.

Man in suit leaves.

Now I am supply all the info know they already know.
name

address

social security number

Then it gets interesting.

She goes employment.

I go retired.

Off she goes. With her hands full of all my cards and $$ again

Man in suit and her converse.
Make phone call.  Police???  Don’t know.

Teller comes back.

I go I was on a cruise. Won the money.
would  you like to see the W2 or picture?

Asked for both

Next thing you know she congratulates me puts money in counter.
Then deposits it.

I got my receipt.

Teller goes.
The branch manager would like a few minutes of your time.

Now what.

I go over and he tries to sell me a CD.

I sad no thank you and went kn my merry way.

It is what it is.

Really sorry to read this. However, if there has been no metastasis a simple resection of that segment of colon could provide a cure.

I don't want to speak for everyone here but I know we are all hoping for the best.

Poor patients, he's squeamish about blood. They would have to be picking him up off the floor.

The MRI for tomorrow has been cancelled again.Apparently the doctor who requested the test erred in completing the authorization form.

My daughter was in my house this morning and spoke to someone at the MRI facility.

She will call the doctor tomorrow ,get it hopefully straightened out and have to reschedule hopefully for later this week.

My daughter, her husband,Toby and I are dealing with this as best as possible.Mallory has to be the most frustrated.

Sorry to hear the MRI has been postponed. Poor Mallory having to deal with this and she must be so worried.

Wonderful cruise plans. And it sounds like you had a special memory making 50th Anniversary!

I never do well with self checkout.  I always encounter an issue and have to call the clerk over.

BTW, my sister's covid test came back NEGATIVE.  Yea!!

My earache is now a slight dull ache I can live with until it's gone.

Very happy about your ear and your sister's taste buds.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  As I'm sure you know, MD Anderson is one of the best cancer centers in the country.  You will be in great hands.  One of the best "weapons" that you can have is a positive attitude.  It's not always easy, but I'm convinced that it helps both mentally and physically.  When Micheline was going through her treatment, we filled the house with uplifting signs and embroidered pillows. Things like "She thought she could, and so she did", "Don't look back, you're not going that way", "Life is a beautiful ride", etc.  She even had a fridge magnet that had @Lionesss's now famous quote "it is what it is".  The idea was to surround her with positivity.  I'm sure it helped.  I agreed with OB...we're all hoping for the best and are here to provide our thoughts and prayers.

Micheline and I had our first Pickleball experience today.  We took a "Pickleball 101" hour long lesson that starts as if you know nothing, which was the case for us.  Looks like it will be a lot of fun.  We are both tennis players though and it will take some time to get rid of some of the tennis muscle memory that hurts you in Pickleball.  I can't get myself to swing hard enough for that wiffle ball.

In our community here in SC pickleball is huge, they turned a few of the tennis courts into pickleball courts, the tennis players were not happybut the courts are being used more.  Both of us have tried it and still go once in a while but nothing like the hard-core players.  Do know a few who have had some nasty injuries.
