We have a BS account which is only used for holidays. We pay a balance on our cc. A few weeks later we transfer that from the BS into the bank to pay off the card. The nice young Lady says " if you transfer that without notice you will lose 37p interest".

What's the record on here historically? £150 for me,

£200 for my husband and £175 for me but we have always got a pay out every month in the year we have held them not one month gone by we have not won , better than earning interest in the bank account 😉

All that aside it’s been a very heartbreaking day for me today with 3 families I know off ( friends) have Covid and one seriously I’ll in hospital, another friend I know has just been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer and another friend’s 2 year old son died yesterday afternoon of a rare form of cancer after being in hospital for a whole year with treatment, I really do appreciate that all the nhs staff do and I pray that we all come through this very soon with all these vaccines now and we all stay safe and well .

I've just worked out I got 1.4% on my bonds last year, and not taxable, so not bad compared with savings interest rates in general, and a bit of fun every month.

Oh goodness, I have just sat to catch up with today and seen this. Thinking of you - what a terrible time for you, your friends and family / families. It helps to put things in to perspective when we are moaning about lost holidays. Take care.

 

Also, to those of you who posted here earlier re the dreaded 'home learning' thank you for the kind, supportive and understanding words for the teaching profession. x

 

Just praying we don't have loads of snow tomorrow. I think we have closed 4 times in about 22 years max.... after all of the disruption this week, parents and carers really don't need any more stress 😞

Thank you all for your kind words , I just feel so sorry for my friend that lost such a young little boy and feel for his older two sisters only 14 , 9, and younger brother 4 so young they don’t quite understand at that age and been separated from him and their mum since last year beginning of  lockdown and only talking on zoom to them , it’s so sad

That’s terrible for all concerned. Losing a child must be the worst thing possible. So sorry.
