With tongue in cheek, what are some of the things that should not be taken on a cruise?

Here's one or two to get the list started:

1. Bathroom weigh scales

2. Food!

3. Your GP.

If cruising with your wife do not take your girlfriend.

Pasted, with editing, from another post:

Old books for reserving lounge chairs.

Bags of candy in case I get hungry during the four hours food isn't available.

Home made doilies with pictures of my pets for gifts to crew.

Little Fluffy's support dog vest that I bought on eBay.

And of course, old T-shirts that I've retrieved after Mrs Ldubs mistakenly put them in the rag bin.

Those infernal walkie talkies that don't work unless in line of sight.

Why people pack food to take on a cruise is beyond my comprehension.

We bring protein bars (or similar) to carry during island stops.  In the heat and after walking distances, we occasionally have blood sugar drops that need to be treated immediately, and we don't always know where to find food on islands.

As for what not to bring:

- Excessive luggage

- Tight clothes

- Cigarettes for the balcony

- Children whom they don't intend to supervise

The clothes weren't tight when I boarded!  😄

I disagree about the food suggestion. We also take pre-packaged snacks on the cruise for evening snacking after the buffet is closed and taking off in ports. Virtually nothing on the ship is pre-packaged in a way that they can be taken as a snack into port. I'm happy to each lunch in port, but when on a shore excursion you are on their timeline and that doesn't always match up with your appetite.
