Good morning and thanks for the Report.

A good collection of days.  A big thank you to seafarers.  Log cabins can be beautiful.  I've never eaten catfish.

A very amusing quote.

The meal sounds good, looking forward to the recipes.

I'm sure I'd like the drink and the wine.

I've never been to Mykonos, we were supposed to have been there a few years ago, but that cruise was cancelled.  Oh well, maybe someday.

Prayers for everyone.   I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone. Another day of thunderstorms in the forecast. We’re supposed to go to a pool party tonight as a pre birthday celebration for me but the weather is playing havoc with the condo plans so we might wind up in the ballroom. Tomorrow my family is coming for dinner and cake.
Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report and the interesting collection of days. A funny quote by Groucho.  The meal and drink suggestions sound good.  I have not been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our list today.  Cheers to those of you who are celebrating happy events!

thanks for our Sunday Daily, Rich.

Love Catfish - wish we had it here more often and I’m sure we will a celebrate the Day of the Seafarer 🙂

LOL on Groucho’s quote.  And yay!  A white wine - and a good one at that 🙂  The meal sounds intriguing.  I’ll wait for Debbie @dfish to hear about it.  And Mykonos?  What a pretty spot to visit 👍

Raining here and will be off and on for a number of days.  So far this morning it seems like a light rain so who knows?  I might try to piddle with the planters at least, today.  I’ll see how the weather goes.

Carol @mamaofami a very happy pre-birthday to you.  I hope you have nice get together tonight 🙂

Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2021

Thank goodness the world knows about New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs! And with Rich letting us all know about the other amazing varietals, hopefully some of the more elusive wines will make it out into the world. Numerous online distributors with prices starting at $21.99.

Winemaker Notes

#13 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2022

A delightful fusion of ripe summer fruit and delicate floral perfume – Golden Queen peaches and poached yellow pears; baked apples, mango and rock melon; mingled with apple blossom fragrance and a twist of lemon sherbet. Succulent and crisp, with a delicate fennel-like herbal quality and a dry, textural palate. Quintessentially Marlborough, but a deliciously subtle, ripe interpretation of the classic style.

WS94 Wine Spectator

This stunning white is aromatic, fresh and intense, with notes of lemon curd, yuzu, peach, ripe melon and honeysuckle that are effortless and mouthwatering, backed by lemongrass and candied ginger notes on the long, expressive finish.

V93 Vinous
The 2021 Sauvignon from Greywacke is classic yet classy. It is richly aromatic yet not flamboyant, with good purity of fruit: expect flavors of black currant and nectarine alongside subtle tropical fruit and citrus. Due to a naturally low-yielding season, it offers impressive concentration and a ripe, succulent midpalate. The fine, mouthwatering acidity provides length and line on the zesty, passionfruit-infused, lightly structured finish. Delightful in youth, but it will evolve and provide a different Sauvignon experience in five to seven years.
JS93 James Suckling

An aromatic nose of white flowers, peaches, sage and a hint of banana leaf. Medium-bodied with silky texture and a crisp finish. Refreshing and tasty, showing a lot of restraint and class. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, Ann, and Graham.  Special prayers today for @luvteaching.   I will definitely celebrate seafarers, have some log cabins, but will pass on the catfish.  How true the Marx quote but what we really need is someone who can really explain how to do it.  I have not been to Mykonos.  Satellite Television has really revolutionized our world.  I'll pass on the salmon.  My alternative is Lemonade and Chocolate Chip cookies as served at the conclusion of "On Deck For a Cause" on MS Prinsendam June 14, 2015.

Good morning friends!  Thank you Rich @richwmn for this morning's Daily and Fleet Report.  It is 68F with a chance of thunderstorms and a high of 90 degrees.  DD was surprised to hear of all the birthday wishes from everyone yesterday and grateful for them.  Hope Sharon @Sharon in AZ had a great day yesterday.  DD may have been 9 days overdue but she did pick a great day for a birthday Sharon as you mentioned in yesterday's Daily.

Interesting and varied group of days today.  I like log cabins, haven't eaten catfish in a long time though my parents enjoyed it and prepared it for us, and prayers for safety for all seafarers.  A fun quote from Groucho.  It's appropriate for the menu suggestion to be Greek Salmon on this particular port of the day.  The drink sounds good, and I would definitely try the Sauvignon Blanc.  I'm not sure whether I watched the first global satellite TV program in 1967.  Even though I was a big fan of the Beatles I may have been out "cruising" Steak 'n Shake or out on a date.  😁  I hadn't yet met DH at this point in 1967.

Prayers 🙏 this morning for all our Dailyites but especially for Karen @luvteaching's DH, Ann's @Vict0riann DH Pat, Joy's @Seasick Sailor DH Allen, and Terry's @smitty34877 DH Lou who is awaiting his surgery tomorrow.  Many other prayers for those under the weather or hurting like Jacqui @kazuAnnie @marshhawk, Linda @lindaler, @srdancer, Nancy @ottahand7,  and Dixie @summer slope.  I do hope I haven't forgotten anyone and apologize if so.  I need to keep better notes!  Thank you Graham @grapau27 for Father David's sermon today.  He is a gem isn't he?  I hope everyone cruising is having the time of their lives.  Congrats to everyone celebrating something today!🥳🥂🎂  Happy Birthday to Jake's @Crazy For Cats DH Juan.  My own DGS who graduated a month ago is having a graduation party today.  There were so many parties given students that DS and DDIL decided to wait four weeks before scheduling one for him.  DGS is off to UCLA in September.🎓  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the extensive Care and Celebration list today!  We appreciate you!

The port today is Mykonos, Greece which is a fun port of call.  Usually very sunny and probably hot.  We've had that port twice before on Oct. 4, 2021 and Aug. 27, 2022.  Below I will post the links for you.  I have been there once before on Crown Princess in 2012.  Maybe it's time I headed back there for another look?  Always an excuse to book a cruise!🚢

We've only visited Mykonos once in 2012 on Crown Princess.  I remember seeing Petros the Pelican, mascot of Mykonos.  I think he wishes he could get away from all the tourists sometimes.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKvV5uLmyXg0niVuOr04h9Q?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1356369258

Good afternoon and thank you Rich @richwmn for today's daily reports.

We had a lovely church service this morning.

I had to repost the sermon because the first link just produced words and no picture.

It is 77°F and sunny but we have thunderstorms forecast for later this afternoon.

Today's food is nice and the wine of the day is a favourite New Zealand Marlborough.

We docked in Mykonos in November 2013 on Splendour of the seas when we cruised from Venice and visited

Split.

Kusadasi.

Mykonos.

Corfu.

I hope everyone is safe and well and prayers for those who are not including Joy and Ann's husband's who I mentioned in my prayers 🙏 in church.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for for today’s daily fleet report.  It’s a very humid day so the ac is going.  I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion, instead we will go out for dinner.   We already went out for a nice breakfast, the restaurant at the corner makes really good corn beef hash.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Good morning everyone. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet Report.

It is a beautiful sunny day so far. Yesterday we had torrential rains which we need.

Did some housework yesterday. Working on redecorating. Brought a new television because this one is too small, and I squinted half the time.

I love the meal of the day. Anytime I can get salmon I will go for it.

Today I will cut the grass and spend a little time outdoors.

Thinking of you all. 'Have a safe and healthy day.

Does Log Cabin Day refer to actual log cabins, or to syrup? Actual catfish or catfishing? I used to live near New London, Conn., a port city, where the historic Catholic church is St. Mary Star of the Sea--Maris Stella.

I don't think of salmon as a typically Greek fish, but the way I most often prepare it, sautéed in olive oil, could be Greek. No on the cocktail, yes on the wine. It might be obtainable here. Sauvignon Blanc isn't widely grown in the Finger Lakes, but there are varietals from Dr. Konstantin Frank and Fulkerson.

I visited Mykonos last year on the Norwegian Jade, but only as a jumping-off point for Delos.

Today I teach Hebrew at 9:30 and it's the last class.

Good morning from a humid NY.We woke up to fog earlier which is less dense now.Thunderstorms are predicted for later.I hope the Pride events are not impacted today.

We have not been to Greece, like the idea of Greek salmon and liked catfish when I tried it.A coworker of mine had a great log cabin home built from a kit.It was unusual for our area.

We had a brief power outage last night but managed with our regular oxygen tanks. Con Edison dutifully  called to make sure we were reconnected at 3 am.Tana and I never went back to sleep. We confused the dogs by taking them out in the dark and feeding them. They also met the neighborhood  raccoon family which was a standoff thankfully.

Tomorrow  we will be at the hospital at 11 and the surgery should start at one.Thank you  to everyone  for their prayers.DH has a good attitude and we are all hoping the chemo treatment during the operation helps. It makes for a long procedure.

Enjoy the day and please be careful those if you in the terrible heat.

Good Sunday morning.   The badly needed rain continued through the night.   More due today and tomorrow.

Thanks for the Daily reports Rich. I live in a log cabin 4 months of the year and remainder I wish I was a seafarer. Pass on catfish and salmon and the sweet drink but we love NZ Sauvignon Blanc.  Thanks for researching these for us each day, @summer slope, @cat shepard and @dfish.

Thanks for keeping up the Cares and Celebrations reports.  Prayers for @luvteaching and her DH. @smitty34877prayers for your DH today.  Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine.

My foot still hurts, bandage change today so I hope it looks better.   We are going to Escanaba tomorrow as we have more rain and weather in the 60s.   A cool week ahead.

Our home away from home in Amasa MI.  Have a nice day, Nancy

Good morning, everyone!

Today is starting out beautiful, but will end with much needed rain.  There will be some thunderbumpers along the way, I am sure.  We have River, age 6, with us for the next week.   She whipped us in Farkle last night.  It will be a challenge to keep her occupied as we are expecting a week of rain.  Tomorrow we've planned a trip to Frankenmuth to go to the Christmas store and then to dinner at the Bavarian Inn.  Wednesday is a trip to the zoo.  We'll fill out the rest of the week as we go.

Happy Birthday to Juan, @Crazy For Cats DH.

Keeping all the ailing spouses in my thoughts today.  Sending healing prayers to @luvteaching Karen, @Vict0riann's Pat, @Seasick Sailor's Allen, and @smitty34877's Lou.

Today's meal is one I would enjoy immensely.  Pair it with a Greek salad and I'm in heaven.  This first recipe gives instructions for the oven as well as the air fryer.  I'd probably try it on the grill.  https://www.aheadofthyme.com/greek-salmon/

greeksalmon1.thumb.jpg.fbe6671721c2a4eb461e1e9c374253c0.jpg

Next up we have one with a relish that we put on top after cooking the salmon.  I'd give it a try. https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a26103199/greek-salmon-recipe/

This last recipe also uses a salsa and pan sears the salmon that has been seasoned.   https://www.cookinwithmima.com/greek-salmon/
