RCCL new Diamond Lounge Policy?

Why would you even think Diamonds should board before Suite Guests?

Personally, I believe the ongoing points system should be rated on $ spent for cabin, any dollars spent onboard (Speciality Dining, Casino, Spa, Ships Tours, Park West) and $ spent on Royal Excursions. Set a yearly minimum and if not reached, drop peoples points and Status back each year.

Milwaukee Eight...you are way off base with your thinking and it is a good thing you aren't driving the boat. Everyone can't afford the luxury to pay for a cruise and just keep spending unlimited funds on-board. Points are awarded for sea days 1 for 1 except for suite guests who do receive 2 for 1 but how many suites are on your typical ship and how many interior, ocean view, balconies; 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 to 1? Just as in flying, your first class passengers receive a few more perks than coach and an extra point to suites is no big deal.

At this point in my sailing career points don't much matter to me however, I truly believe and so do many others that points are rewarded for sail days and not money spent on-board (not everybody has bottomless pockets). Who buys art on a ship anyway?

You realize you're talking with someone who married into his tier level?

John we are on Oasis now. I am curious where an overflow for the DL could possibly be?

No need for one the past two weeks, I'm curious where your experience has seen one.

It was in Blaze when we were on in Oct/Nov. We went to the DL and we never went to Blaze but went by several times when it was open and there was a sign and someone checking cards.

I'll be emerald after upcoming cruise and have been hell bent on getting to Diamond. But the more I think about it, really.. whats the point? The drinks are a great benefit but I always buy the drink package so that negates any benefit there. I once ducked a rope (on accident?) and boarded with the Diamond +'s and that was pretty sweet. Still I think we boarded after the suite guests.

So I don't mean this in a negative way, I do want to get to Diamond, but what makes this level so special for people? From what I see priority boarding and free drinks. But if you're boarding after Suite guests and buying the drink package, is it just a status thing? More pull at guest services?

Really just curious..

The only Diamond benefit I have ever used was the free picture. I'm a cheap date!!:D

In other words absolutely nothing has changed in the policy

If there ever was one in the first place. We were told YEARS ago Miami said.

Yet it seems it's up to the hotel director. Last year out of Southampton on a perfectly ordinary cruise the entire VCL was the Diamond Club.

3,000 posts on the thread.

Ah, I hit the lucky post on the thread, I only use post numbers to figure out, roughly how many pages I have to scroll back to get caught up. So, a special post whoring number means absolutely nothing to me.

Sorry to have stolen a far more important posters moment in the sun.:halo::eek::loudcry:

We used the overflow in Blazes nightly. Less crowded and not as loud. Plus close to studio b so my son could do the open skating sessions.

From what I can see Rccl provide a Diamond lounge. When it's full . Some

Provide a overflow area. Some don't

If u can't get in you go to a bar and use your free drink vouchers

I can't see why things will change

Or much else they can do

I guess if they get too many complaint 's they may review the situation
