Good morning everyone.Peanut butter is a good staple to always have on hand, especially if you ever lose power. I just recently advised my college grandson to keep some in his dorm room because he’s in a city that gets a lot of snow.

Love today’s quote, but right now it’s hard to do all we would like to accomplish.

We were in Grand Cayman on one of our cruises. It started to pour and we ducked into a jewelry store and I have a vague recollection of buying something there.

DH will be off to get his first shot this afternoon.

Stay safe out there.

Carol

Thanks to all of you for your contributions to the Daily.  Happy belated anniversary wishes to @superoma.  Lovely that you could have your outdoor celebration with family!

I like the idea of port of the day.  Having been to Georgetown a handful of times, I can say I enjoy it.  One visit DH spent some peace and quiet time on the ship (Regal Princess) while I took a tour of the island.  My escort that day was Flat Stanley, drawn by my youngest grandson for his school project.  We were in possession of him for about a month while we were sailing in the Caribbean.  We took photos of him everywhere we went, then I sent along a letter detailing all of Flat Stanley's travels along with photos.  I'm sure every classmate's Flat Stanley had quite a lot to tell at the end of the school year!

Here we are at the Cayman Turtle Farm.  enhance

I think this guy (or gal) wanted to get out and come along with me!enhance

Thank you Roy for including my grandson on your Care list.  He would appreciate that, and I do as well.

Good  morning.  Happy March 1.  Thank you Rich, Roy, and all the dailyites who contribute to this wonderful thread.  Love, love, love peanut butter.  Congrats to the Pigs and Peace Corps on their special day.  We used to have Pot Roast every Sunday when my MIL was alive.

Prayers and toasts to our lists.

Stay safe, social distance, and wear your mask.

Chichi:

3 ounces vodka,  4 ounces pineapple juice,  2 ounces cream of coconut,  1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar (or more),  1 cup crushed ice,  2 slices pineapple, speared with 2 maraschino cherries, on toothpicks, for garnish

DIRECTIONS
Into a blender, combine the vodka, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, sugar, and ice. Blend on high speed until frothy and well combined, about 30 seconds.
Pour into 2 chilled Collins glasses, and garnish with the pineapple slices and umbrellas.

Good morning.  The Peace Corps deserves its own day as it has helped a lot of people around the world.  After watching a lot of the vet shows on tv this past year, DH and I decided we definitely do not want a pig as a pet.  🐖  Cannot celebrate peanut butter day as I am one of the few who do not like it.  The last jar of peanut butter in our house was tossed when the DDs graduated from high school.

Someone must have read my mind, as I had already planned to have the rest of Saturdays pot roast fixed with potatoes, carrots and onions for dinner tonight.

We have been to Grand Cayman many times, but the last time was in 2002 on a seven day cruise, between our summer cruise on Noordam III and APEC cruise on Volendam.  I looked at my pictures from the 2002 cruise, but all I found were snorkeling pictures of a lot of fish.  The other pictures I have of Grand Cayman are pre-digital.  We really like the island, and have rented cars several times and driven all the roads, even to Hell and back.  😈  in 1994, we spent a week on a live aboard dive boat, which also took us to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.  We've also left some money at a couple of the jewelry stores in town,.

@superoma  Belated congratulations on your anniversary.   🥂 🌹

@StLouisCruisers  Hope your grandson heals quickly.

Good Morning All,

We have a beautiful day here in SoCal. Wish I could share it with you, especially those getting dumped on. We have continued winds with large gusts periodically. I’ve lived here all my life and never remember so many Santa Ana wind storms, and so late as we have had this year. We could use some rain.

My February goal was to clean and organize the garage. It’s not done yet, so will continue today with that in mind. Tomorrow begins several days of online classes, so only today is left to work on it.

Pot roast sounds good, but every time I read “root vegetables” I know it’s a plot to put parsnips 😝and beets 😝on my plate.😜So we’ll skip and finish off last nights salmon.

Love the port of the day idea.

Good morning. Thanks for the Daily. Happy March!

I like all 3 days - appreciate the Peace Corps, love pork (bacon, roast, chops) and chunky peanut butter.

I like making a roast with root veggies in my Instant Pot.

Great idea for a port of the day. I've never been to Grand Cayman.

Rain is finally leaving, but we expect flooding along the rivers. One warm day, then cold again.

@superoma Congrats! 51 years is quite an accomplishment.

Still no email word yet on my second shot.

Prayers for the care list and cheers to the celebration list.

Stay safe, social distance and wear your mask.

Good morning all!

A big hurrah to the Peace Corps.  Love peanut butter, but only the creamy variety.  I don't have it often, but must always have it in the pantry for the grandsons' visits (and honey, lots of honey).   Both the recipes look very good, but tonight will be steak from last night made into fajitas. 🙂  Yay, a white wine today!

I love the idea of adding "port of the day" to our lists, great idea Rich.  I have never been to Georgetown, but ironically it is one of the ports on our Celebrity cruise this November (which I have doubts will happen).

@superoma belated anniversary wishes for your 51st!  (btw, is the "oma" part of your cc name for Grandma in German?  Our daughter's mother-in-law is called Oma. 🙂

@StLouisCruisers so sorry to hear about your grandson's injury!

Here's a photo of the Pike Place Pig -- apparently in 2000 there was even a pig parade through Seattle -- I didn't know and didn't go.  😅

Since we have been treated to pictures of various places, I thought I might add a "Port of the Day" for discussion. Today would be Georgetown Grand Cayman Island.

What do y'all think?

🌺🌺🌺

Such a great idea Rich👍👍This is amazing that the daily is almost a year old! Remember when The Fleet Report

was possibly going to end?  You came up with such a great idea of The Daily and look at it now! WOW. So successful!
Georgetown we enjoyed it. I remember we did snorkeling with the stingrays!
To all of The DAILYITES have a wonderful

first day of March!
🌺Summer had my first Chichi in Maui👍
🌺 Ann I have had this wine and I enjoyed it!
🌺Debbie I also have made this recipe with my own twists. Thankyou! Enjoy your swimming!

🌺Joy, Have a good day and also enjoy your Mexican food! Yum

🌺Jacqui, looking forward to all of your beautiful flowers soon! Feel bad about your weather. We woke up to sunshine and yesterday when we went over to our daughters place to drop of her birthday cake and gifts it was almost 72!

🌺Roy, I enjoy your alternative dinner choices for today! Thank you for your contributions too!

Have a wonderful start to a new week and new month!

Good morning, and thank you for the Daily, Rich. We love the idea of Port of the day. We are noobs to cruising and thoroughly enjoy living vicariously through those of you who have been to so many places that we'll likely never travel. Thank you to all who share your experiences. We'll gladly continue lurking over here in the corner. 👩👨‍🦳 Kick us when you need us to move 😄

@cunnorlWe are so sorry for your loss.

@superoma Congratulations on the milestone!

Everyone stay safe and healthy. It's worth the hassle...

Peanut Butter Day reminds me of a boy named Allen from a third-grade class I taught. He was deathly allergic to peanuts and any peanut products. I used Allen’s allergy as a way to teach order of operations for Math.

If Allen came into contact with (P)eanut (B)utter (parentheses and brackets) he would have to go to the ER (exponents and radicals). At the ER he would need to see an MD (multiplication and division), and he might have to get a shot in the addition and subtraction.

Love the port of the day idea.

I totally agree on the beets, but I can eat parsnips, but don't add either to my pot roast.  The potatoes and carrots are the root veggies I use along with onions.
