Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the anniversary wishes @grapau27 Graham, @dani negreanu Dani, @Sunshine3601 Debbie, @Lionesss Sue, and @A&L_Ont Andrew.

It will not be the anniversary celebration we had planned.  We have all 3 grandkids today, because our daughter is in for a medical procedure.  Our celebration will have to wait.   Out for breakfast with the grands, then will see what this day holds for us and the kids.

Forty-two years ago today I was doing something I have never done since.  I was headed to Pittsburgh for an overnight stay, then flying out in the morning for a same day flight for my first ever cruise.  It is a good thing airlines were more reliable then.

Susan and I were sailing on the eighth sailing of the SS Norway, which was the largest cruise ship at the time.  We sailed to St. Thomas and Little San Salvador.

Now those were lifeboats

We couldn’t fly down the day before, because August 2nd we were too busy getting married.  I guess I have never done that since, either. 😏

Many congratulations Mark and Susan. Best wishes for a lovely anniversary.  Wow 42 years, a great achievement 👍 💕💐

Lawdamighty, I could literally feel the IQ points retreating from my brain as I read that thread..... it really is terrifying how stupid the general public is.

That's what I thought. Thank God we have @chengkp75 to help navigate the stupidity.

What a beautiful ship and special memory. Happy Anniversary Mark and Susan. Cheers to you and many more to come.

I think he has got off lightly compared to you Dani.  He had head cold symptoms for a few days, body aches, a dry cough. He feels his breathing is not back to normal yet if he were to exercise but overall I think he was fortunate to have mild symptoms. He certainly didn’t experience  the fatigue, head fog or racking cough that many unfortunately experience.  I hope your cough is starting to go away now as well as any other symptoms you were suffering.

I'm glad he is feeling better I'm so glad his symptoms were not severe.

Up early this morning because Lizzy and Charlie wanted to do their business at 5:30am and could not go back to sleep. Too many things on my mind.

Last night I was playing around more with the Midjourney Art AI program creating some interesting new art. I was thinking of @Ocean Boy and his new fondness like mine of Kraken dark spiced rum. I came up with a special glass that we should have made to drink this delectable nectar from the Caribbean.

The Kraken Glass:

Does anyone know where to look for the price of a drink package on Royal? (before actually booking the cruise and looking at cruise planner?)

Usually, you can't - you can ask in the Roll Call thread of the sailing you want for someone to tell you what the current price is.

SS Norway was one of my all time favorite ships , sailed her 7 times including my honeymoon, was the biggest cruise ship at one time.

We sailed on the SS Norway, formerly the SS France.  I remember it extremely well!!  When we set out the first evening I could tell the difference between modern cruise ships with stabilizers versus ocean liners.  My, my!  The pitching and rolling!  I tried to hang up my clothes but kept nearly crashing into walls.  Finally hung them up in the air and staggered off to bed.  The next morning we saw a whole rail in the hallway had been wrenched off!

It was a Big Band cruise and I was amazed how well the dancers could adjust themselves to a non self leveling dance floor!

aussie, how is your DH feeling?

Aussie, glad your DH is doing better.  Mine has a bad sore throat and a slight cough.  Nothing terrible.

I group text 4 of my friends every single morning.  They're friends I met at our 1st apt. we moved to after selling our house.  Then 2 1/2 years ago, for various reasons we all moved and vowed never to lose touch.  These morning texts let us know what's happening, pictures included, sometimes even food porn.  I wanted to share one text I received this morning.  It might not pertain to all of you, but I love the sentiment:

Figured I would need a backup in case I get in trouble for copyright on my usual image.
