Happy birthday wishes to Charlene @cunnorl's DS today!  Hope you all enjoy your day celebrating with him.

I didn't get back to yesterday's Daily to mention this but while looking at the Rio photos Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser posted from Christ the Redeemer statue tour, I saw DH and I in one of her photos.  We actually discussed it one time when Rio was port of the day.  She said she didn't see herself or her DH in my photos but I have one I haven't posted before and maybe she can spot themselves in it.  It's taken from the stairs looking downward.  So take a look Lenda.  If you do see yourself, please let us know what you are wearing because I have other unposted photos I could check out.

I hope all the Dailyites celebrating Easter have a wonderful day.

It is a sunny and non-windy morning in Quartzsite after an afternoon and night of rain.  I don't know how much rain we received since the rain gauges are already stored for the summer.  It was 50F when I got up, and is now 53F with a predicted high of 66F.  Unfortunately, the clouds will move back in this afternoon, and we'll get more rain overnight.  The rain is supposed to end about 4am in the morning.  Depending on when the rain ends and the wind conditions tomorrow, we may have to postpone leaving until Tuesday.  However, I'm going to continue getting ready to leave tomorrow.

I have not laid eyes on a Bunsen Burner since my last college chemistry lab class.  Cesar Chavez did a lot for farm workers.  I don't know any Medievalists to hug.  A medievalist is a specialist in medieval culture and history.

I think Stephen King is write with his quote.

We'll skip today's meal and drink.  The wine sounds like a winner and doesn't break the bank.

We anchored in Nafplio Bay in 2019 on Veendam for our visit to Napflion.  I'll retrieve my pictures shortly.

The 240 BC passage of Haley's Comet must have been something intriguing to those who saw it.

@RedneckBob  Welcome home, RNB.

@summer slope  Dixie, I hope you and George are feeling better today.

@kazu  Jacqui, I hope your interview goes well today, but I'm glad you have several backup options even if they are not ideal.

@dfish  Debbie, please wish DB Jeff a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY for us.  Good luck with the Beef Wellington.

@doobieb  I'm sorry your DH has been diagnosed with diabetes.  That is good news you have your dog sitter for your trip.

@aliaschief  Safe travels to Bangkok today, Bruce.  I loved the pictures of Angkor Wat and how nature is reclaiming the area.

@marshhawk  Annie, that documentary sounds interesting, and I hope the changes work well for you.

@Nickelpenny  Pennie, I'm glad you are feeling better.

@RMLincoln  Safe travels today, Maureen.  I hope your DSIL rallies.

@cunnorl  Charlene, please wish your DS HAPPY BIRTHDAY for us.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm happy you are having a wonderful time with your New Hampshire family.

@kochleffel  Paul, I'm glad your injury is improving.  From experience, I know it will take time to stop being sore.

@ger_77  Gerry, I hope that what the doctors have to tell Ollie isn't bad news.  I'm glad you will be with her.

Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann,Dixie, and Graham/Father David.  Happy Easter to all who celebrate today.  Bon Voyage @sailingdutchy.  Welcome home @RedneckBob,

I'll Celebrate the work of Caesar Chavez, haven't used a Bunsen Burner in decades, and not sure what a Medievalist is.  I like the King quote.

Have not been to today's port.I hadn't realized Motion Picture codes were that old.

I'll pass on the meal  My alternative is Chilled Apricot Soup with Snow Egg, Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad, and Mango Blueberry Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 31, 2017:

Off to church early as I am on the AV team and must be sure to get a parking spot.

A quick break before I get back to loading more on the motorhome.   It's fairly nice outside in the sun even if it's a bit chilly for us.  It's a warm day for those in the northern regions though.

Happy cruising to Martha and Tony, hope to see you next week!  Good morning, Dailyites, and Happy Easter.  We're off to church in a few minutes, but I wanted to pop in and say I will be praying for all in need!  Jacqui, I hope the dog sitter works out,  And for those falling down, I hope the bumps and bruises heal quickly.  DD is still struggling with her fractured humerus, but she has an appointment at the hospital on Tuesday, and the decision as to whether we will cruise next Sunday will be made then!

Ann, I hope your DD gets a good report from the doctors at the hospital Tuesday, and that you will be able to go on your cruise.

Good morning and Happy Sunday from a cloudy Tucson. Rain is expected at 11:00 am and will continue throughout the day, tonight and tomorrow. Happy Easter to all who celebrate.

The meal suggestion would be great but not today. I don’t know what is on the menu for lunch at DM’s senior center. Probably ham and potatoes. It’s always a buffet. I’m taking a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. I’ve never cared for the wine they serve.

Roy @rafinmd, your entree looks like prime rib and Yorkshire pudding, yum, but not the chicken in your description. Personally I prefer the prime rib and HAL really does make a good one.

Jacqui @kazu, I hope you narrow down and select Ivan’s sitter today. Thank you for your hard work yesterday for the Casablanca tour.

Pennie @Nickelpenny, I think the SpaceX launch has been postponed until tomorrow. Maybe Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiserknows for sure.

Bon Voyage @sailingdutchy!  Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone!

Sharon, I just checked on the launch, and no date has been set for the next try.   They are waiting for a report from the range.  I hope we'll get to see a launch next fall when we're out here again.

Good afternoon everyone.  Thanks for the daily reports and the maps Jacqui and Roy.  I used Bunsen Burners a lot in college but that was a long time ago.  Cesar Chavez did a lot to help the labor movement in the southwest to help people who couldn't speak for themselves.  Wages and working conditions got somewhat better.   I agree with Steven King's quote.  Reading the words makes them "live" in our brains, helps with spelling too.  Haven't been to today's port so thanks for the photos @Quartzsite Cruiser.   I hope you can leave on time tomorrow and safe travels on your way to your summer home in Texas.

I will pass on the spinach eggs and the fussy cocktail but will take a double dose of today's wine. Thanks for finding these for us each day!

@JazzyV thanks for the cares and celebrations reports.   I pray that your surgery will give you the pain relief that you need and you can sleep very well.  Prayers for Tana today in addition to Gord.  Prayers for everyone in our group needing them and those suffering in war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza.  I pray that they can return to peace in Haiti.

Originally John said let's go out for dinner today but we didn't make a reservation and the only walk in place is the buffet at the casino at $54 per person.  On top of that they have switched to plastic drinkware which I think is gross.   We are going to have a nice restaurant dinner later this week in a good restaurant with real glassware.  I have a big box of Gulf shrimp in the freezer and we are going to have scampi on linguini.  We are going to really blow the carbs because I found some beautiful ear corn at the grocery.  Please enjoy your time with family today everyone!  Nancy

Thank you, Nancy, for the nice words about my pictures.  We also hope we can leave tomorrow.

Great pictures, Brenda.  I'm very glad the falling palm frond.  In 2002 in a small port in China, DH wasn't so lucky.  it fell right in front of his face and the spiny edges put a gash in his forehead.  We took the tissues I had in my purse and put them on the cut, then used his hat to put pressure on the tissues.  The young Chinese lady on the ho-ho train wanted to take him to the hospital, but we said no.  When we got back to the Volendam, we cleaned the cut thoroughly and but antibiotic ointment on it.  Later he saw the ship's doctor in the elevator, and the doctor said he would have done the same thing.  However, after a few strange looks from some passengers, he sent me to medical to get some very large bandages.  It healed well without a scar.

That's what I recommended when a colleague cut his scalp on an overhanging palm frond in Jerusalem.

Today's sunrise is from a 2013 Queen Elizabeth transatlantic New York to Southampton.  March 31 was a sea day roughly across the pond:

Hello all. I'm still trying to process that there is a Bunsen burner day.

Thank you @kazu and @rafinmd for the Fleet Report and Daily and the fleet location maps, and thanks to @JazzyVfor the care list.

77 degrees here: maybe AC weather from now on.

Peter, dreaming of his next cruise, asked me to say hello on his behalf:

I am feeling well and thoroughly enjoyed my Mexico cruise on Koningsdam. The only excursion I went on was a whale watch in Cabo. It only took us a couple of minutes to find 3 different groups consisting of a mother and a baby whale. The one closest to shore was the most active I have ever seen. Mom was teaching baby tricks and baby was just plain showing off, in constant motion until we had to leave. I found out that the chefs can cook any food for the sodium restricted diet and make it delicious. I enjoyed the shows in the showroom excpt Humanity which has gotten a bit old. There was a next Step One dance show called move. The vatiety show was good and BillBoard Onboard was outstanding. Mel C. was very good but Clara Vee is phenonimal both as a pianist and as a singer.Either could certainly entertain as a soloist.

The only thing that was not good was embarcation in the cold windy rain and debarcation which was even colder, stronger wind and heavier rain. (The storm in San Diego was bad enough that our arrival time was changed from 7AM to about 3AM). Flights into and out of San Diego were being delayed. Of course there were a few people yelling loudly that they would never cruise Holland again because of this. I can not understand why some people feel they are so entitled that they can not endure waiting or getting rained on etc or why they think that HAL has control over the weather and the ports in a storm.

Now to read todays posts and possibly yesterdays.

@Quartzsite Cruiser glad your DH was ok!  They can be very dangerous.  The frond fell between us, I was walking with a ship friend and DH was walking with her DH.   It fell right between.  Safe travels!

that’s why I appreciate these guys!

Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate. I haven't used a bunsen burner since college. I'll salute Cesar Chavez and don't know any medievalists. Interesting quote. The meal sounds ok, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to today's port.

After a cloudy start, it's gotten partly sunny and up to 60F. Then rain tonight and the next 3 days. I had a late start to the day. I slept about 3 hours, and then fell asleep sitting up for 2 hours. It was 10:30  when I woke up. So after a shower, I watched services online. BFF and I went out to a buffet for early dinner. Now I feel like a nap after that large Italian meal. It's been a bad day pain wise, so maybe some time in the recliner would help.

@sailingdutchy Bon Voyage!

@RedneckBob Welcome Home! Great sunrise photo.

@kazu I hope you've found the right sitter for Ivan.

@dfish I hope your beef wellington turned out well. I've always wanted to make one.

@aliaschief Gorgeous photos yesterday and today. Thanks for sharing.

@Nickelpenny I'm glad to hear your cold seems to be leaving.

@cunnorl Happy Birthday to your DS!

@ger_77 Sorry there isn't better news about Gord; continued prayers. Easter at your house sounds like fun!

@kochleffel I hope you continue to feel better every day.

@Vict0riann I hope DD's appointment goes well, and that you are able to cruise.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Nice photos. Safe travels tomorrow or Tuesday.

@bennybear Excellent photos as usual. Thanks.

@Cruising-along Thanks for sharing the photo of you all.

@lazey1 So good to hear that you had a good cruise and are feeling well. Sorry about the weather for embarkation and debarkation, but it happens and those people yelling need to understand it's mother nature, not HAL.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

Vanessa, you can remove Allen and our neighbors from the prayer list. I'll let everyone know how the dermatologist appt goes Wednesday.

I'll have to check yesterday's Daily to see if Graham posted Father David's Easter message. Graham,  please let him know how much we appreciate his sermons.

We have had hummingbirds at our feeder for at least the past week. I mark the date I first see them, and hang feeders 2 weeks before that.

Thank you to all who participate Daily.

Good afternoon.  This will be quick since I have a couple more trips out to the motorhome, and the clouds are looking like it could rain soon.  All that can be done before tomorrow is done except closing up the computer and putting it on the motorhome.  When I finish here, the computer will be shut down, and I probably won't get back on it until we get home.  I'll try to post from my tablet or phone when possible.

Things went so well today that I even had time to bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies for the trip home.  Of course, we had to taste test some from each pan.  There's nothing quite like warm chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven.

This one was a learning experience.  I learned that I put to thick a layer of duxelles down and it made it hard to handle the meat.  While the presentation wasn't as pretty as I would have liked, the flavors were out of this world.
