Ok, that wasn't supposed  to post so quickly, but seeing as how it did, What was your most memorable thread here on C.C.

I've been hanging around here for going on 14 years, and the one I remember was about what to do with toe nail clippings on a ship😁

The ever so hot smoking debate was to be remembered too.

So what sticks in your mind?

YXU AC*SE's nomination of Chardonnay Sisters threads get my vote of approval. I enjoyed all the live threads from world cruisers and admire anyone who can keep them current and interesting for four months. Kween Karen's live world cruise threads were great and the thread about her trials with her travel agency must have been near the top for drama.

Not a thread, but one post stands out from all others, Shimp56's short answer to what is below A deck on the Veendam:  "There "B" dragons."

The Hookers on HAL thread from many years back was one of the best ever.

Another one that was great, and arguably the best written one I have ever read, was the April Fools 'review', written as if by Thurston Howell (or his brother in character). Fabulous writing.

Wearing a tiara in the dining room on formal nights and the lady who wanted to bring a rice cooker on board so her elderly Asian parents would have a constant supply of steamed rice. The tiara thread spawned another one where a lady informed us her husband enjoys her parading around in a bikini while wearing high heels and a tiara (Miss America wannabe?).  Would it be OK for her to strut her stuff out by the pool?

And of course the never ending tipping threads that were especially heated back in the day when HAL listed tips as "optional".

Also the cruise  reviews  by the man who would give slippers as gifts to various people, was his name Jim?

Jim and his wife, Ruth. His reports were always so funny. Just the drive to the port was hysterical.

I like the Port Everglades and Juneau sailaway threads which started, way back when, with the San Diego (webcam in the high rise across the street) thread and the HAL banner pics - wonder what ever happened to that blue banner (believe there were two of them) which used to be kept in the hotel manager's office on the Oosterdam

Yes, and the fun of packing the car was included in the review.

Have been thinking about them this afternoon,  the surname started with V if I remember correctly.

Would be good to read the hilarious threads again.

I loved Jim & Ruth's cruising posts - who remembers "swamp cabbage" references?  Jim was a great writer!

Although we never met, I still have a pair of slippers he sent me; they'll be passed on to my grandsons, I'm sure!  One of his most memorable lines for me was "We're spending our kid's inheritance, with the hope that the cheque to the undertaker bounces."

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Vrhovac. Jim & Ruth Vrhovac.
She died while they were still actively cruising. I think I remember that he has since died, too.

The Zaandam COVID thread was pretty epic.

Otherwise, my most memorable threads were on other boards, such as a woman who once tried to keep a starfish alive in her shower on RCI.  😁

One of my favorites is still your lost camera, sea turtle thread. It was all over the Miami news.

Yes, sadly, Jim has passed away as well.  I'm still in touch with his widow; she is a lovely person who was a great fit for Jim.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂
